Mac itunes trying to restore my iphone 6 plus
Both my Mac iTunes and iPhone 6 Plus are updated to the latest version. When I connect my iPhone via usb to my MBA, the Mac iTunes is asking to either set up my iPhone as new or restore from backup. The problem is the back up is only showing my iPad and iPad mini which probably I had them backup to the Mac instead of iCloud.
I would like to sync some content from the Mac to my iPhone but is not able to do so because of this. Btw the iPhone had been restored from my previous iPhone using iCloud backup which is under the same account as the iTunes (same username and password).
I have no problem backing up my photos and videos from the iPhone to the Mac using iPhoto.
How do I solve this problem? Thank you in advance.
Also having the problem. Phone ended up restoring to the last iTunes back up I'd made in October. Lost a few apps, texts and photos (also gone from photostream too) but music / playlists thankfully ok. Given up using iCloud for back up, decided to try to stick with iTunes again and see if that helps.

I just replaced my iPhone 5 because of a cracked face. I backed up the old phone to iTunes. When I tried to restore my data off of iTunes to the new phone, I got an error message saying that iTunes could not restore the iPhone because not enough free space is available on the new iPhone. Now what?
I have Apple Care+, but I'll be darned if I can find any way to contact anyone at Apple to talk to about this. They take your money, but make darned sure they don't have to support you unless you jump through a bunch of hoops first, like this site.I've done a restore.. The phone was completely wiped back to factory settings.. It then tells me there isn't enough space on the phone to restore from back up? How when the phone is empty?!

Hi I am trying to restore my iphone from the itunes back and it is asking me for a password, I don't ever remember putting a password in. how do i get the password reset?

You can't get it reset; if you could there would be no point in having it. If you have an encrypted backup there are two ways this could have happened:
You checked "Encrypt Backup" in iTunes at some time in the past, either intentionally or by accident
You have a corporate MS Exchange account and your Exchange administrator installed a security profile on your phone that requires the phone'a contents to be encrypted. This, in turn, requires the backup to be encrypted for obvious reasons.
In either case you were prompted for a password the first time you backed up after whichever of these happened. So think about what you might have entered for a password at that time. Fortunately you get an unlimited number of tries. Other threads on this subject have shown that it is always a password known to the user, so it wasn't something made up by iTunes. Also, everyone who has figured it out has found it to be a different password type, so try your Apple ID password, your computer's login password, your WiFi password, your corporate domain password, etc. And try passwords that may have been changed since your first backup. As a last resort there is a professional password cracker available, but it isn't cheap - it's targeted at the law enforcement market - from Elcomsoft. There are also some scam password crackers available that don't actually work and possibly steal your information. It's likely that a developer of one or more of these will post a response with a link (possibly hidden) to their "product". So before clicking any links you might want to install the Web of Trust plugin that keeps track of scam sites and warns you. http://www.mywot.com. -
my iphone 4 i bought was jailbroken to ios 6.0.1 redsn0w but i tried to restore the iphone and now it keeps saying connect to itunes but when i connect and try to restore an "unknown error" occurs and it will not boot up whatsoever. please help!
If you want to solve your problems, unjailbreak. And don't do it again, because jailbreaking causes problems as you read about in that article. You can try Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

I am trying to restore my iphone 3 I backed up to icloud and it tells me on the computer it is restored but the phone is still just hanging ou with a picture of a cord connecting to an itune symbol? help
Hello Bethandfive,
You may need to restore the iPhone while it is in what's called 'recovery mode.'
iOS: Unable to update or restore
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Notes:
In certain situations, an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch will automatically go into recovery mode after an update or restore issue. If your device is already in recovery mode, you can attempt to restore using iTunes.
Cheers,

Im trying to restore my Iphone 4S using Itunes but get "unknown error -1 " Does anyone have a solution?
Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service. -

I tried to restore my iPhone 4s through iTunes and received error message that Restore could not be completed due to error 2003. Phone now not recognized in iTunes, with repeated prompts to restore phone. Now phone w/screen with iTunes symbol and USB cord can't use. It appears the phone has been restored, but I cannot activate it.
I disabled my anti-software, iTunes and computer software (microsoft vista) are both up to date, I restarted the computer several times. My usb ports are working properly. I followed the troubleshooting suggestions from apple.yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.
trying to activate the phone with another sim card that you did not get when you brought the phone may result in you not being able to activate it
no worries -

Trying to restore my iphone 5c, but it says i have to turn off the 'find my phone' option in icloud. when i try, it brings up the wrong apple id. I reset it under itunes & app store in settings but still not working...frustrated!
Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click Restore button of iTunes on computer.

ITunes keeps saying the server could not be contacted when trying to restore my iPhone 5
I'm trying to restore my iPhone 5 using iTunes, because my battery life has greatly decreased, and I believe it to be a software problem. Therefore I'm wanting to wipe the software completely, and update it again, but when I hit restore, it extracts the software, and then tells me the update server could not be reached. I'm not sure what the problem is, I updated my iTunes again and retried but the same thing happened. Please let me know what to do to restore my phone
Try restoring your iPhone from a different computer.

My Iphone 4 crashed and I lost my entire contact list. I restored it to original factory settings but in trying to restore my data from my laptop via Itunes.. this was the feedback: Itunes could not restore the Iphone Dr Johnny Siu Chong because the Iphone refused the request.
I cannot get help from Apple support because i am being asked to supply the serial number which is stored on the phone and I cannot restore my data in the first place. I am reluctant to "Set up as a new Iphone" since I don't know whether if I do I may not then be able to access my data from Itunes...
Please advise what to do. I did not see any tutorials on Youtube to help me with this.
I look forward to an early response.Hey joshuafromisr,
If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
or here:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
