Mac jmenubar - for window object?

Hello fellow java developers!
I have jrame (which is my main application) that has a child awt.window object - that always is floating on top of the main jframe.
On macintosh with java 1.4 I am seeing a problem! When I interact with the floating window object, the jfame's jmenubar dissapears! - this is on mac, so this means that since I am using the mac menubar - (the top always visible bar on the mac), that originally it has all of my program's options, but once the window gets focus, all of my programs menu items are gone!
I am using macintosh style menubars (that appear on the top bar of the os), and since the window object cannot accept a jmenubar, I don't know what to do...
Any ideas u brilliant people?

If you have a Mac with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, they are available as a download. You can download them from Boot Camp Assistant (in /Applications/Utilities) or from the Apple site.

Using bootcamp 5.1, Windows 7 home is installed but missed installing the drivers disk. How to install the Mac drivers for windows after the fact.

While using Bootcamp 5.1, and OS X 10.8.2, I partitioned my Mac disk with 80 Gigs for Windows 7 home and the install went great, but I must have missed the time when I was to install the Mac drivers disk to install the drivers for Windows,(when in Windows I don't have a mouse or optical drive.) Is there a way to install the drivers after Windows is installed, or do I have to go through the whole process all over again?

Format a Mac iPod for Windows

Hi,
I have a 5th gen video iPod that I formatted for Mac, but now I want to format it for Windows instead. I have followed the articles on the site on how to restore, how to format for windows, and looked at the posts here as well, but NONE of those WORK. My Windows machine will not see the iPod from iTunes or anywhere in Windows. How do I just wipe the iPod clean and start over on Windows? I cannot get Windows to see the iPod with iTunes. I cannot get Windows to see the iPod to even erase the drive. Where do I go besides the standard articles on the Apple site that say to restore it (because they all assume that iTunes can see the iPod to restore it).

How do I choose how to set my Mac up for Windows compatibility?

I bought a new Macbook due to Vista fears. I started with a trial version of Office 2004. That has expired. I have heard there is software that enables Mac to use Windows simultaneously. Parallels is apparently not for intel-based Macs, and Bootcamp requires a reboot to switch over to the other operating system. Boot Camp also requires that I burn a copy of the software onto a disc, but my computer is not able to burn discs. I want to be able to run and access Windows files and programs and also be able to access PC applications (like Pokerstars, for example, which is for PC only), any advice would be helpful, I am new at this world of Mac.

Yes, you can. All Macbooks have CD burning capabilities.

You need to install Windows on your mac either through Parallels (which creates a virtualized environment within OS X) or use Boot Camp to install Windows directly on your Macbook, as you would any other non-Apple computer.

Problems when Booting my Mac/ Partitioning for Windows 7

3 months ago, i bought a MacBook Pro mid 2012-model. I was very satisfied until a really big problem occured.
The first time I recognized a boot-problem was when I restarted my Mac, a screen with the "forbidden-symbol" came up, after the Apple Logo. So I read some articles on the web and tried to restore my mac. After some trys, this was successfull after about 5h (got slow internet connection). I could also start my mac successfully, and in the boot menu, when hitting alt on the keyboard, a normal Mac partition, and a recovery partition could be seen (Before it only a Mac partition was there, no Windows and no recovery). So I started OS X successfully and looked into hard drive diagnostics and let the computer check the Hard Drive. It said that it was successfully, but after booting the second time (after successfull restore), I had the same problem again (and there was only one partition showing in the boot menu).
Finally, after 4 days of problem-solving, I managed to install windows 7 on my mac, without installing mac. Now I want to make a Mac recovery disk on windows, and use it for restoring.
So my question is:
1. What is causing the boot-problem and how can I solve that? I am sooooo desperated and just want to go back to Windows computers .
2. If there is no chance I can repair my mac, how can I create a recovery diskon Windows? (This question is less important, but i'd be REALLY thankful for any hints)

Got it. Thanks for the help. Isn't there any boot disk thing that I can just stick in there that will jerk the OS sideways and give me the Mac login screen, or did the Bootcamp/partition attack just wreck everything? I don't see why I have to do an entire scrape of my totally updated and formerly working OSX just to retry a routine Bootcamp partition, which the girl at the Mac Store in Seattle here assured me has worked for them all the time. It really is a crock. Maybe I shouldn't bother trying to put Windows 7 on there at all if all these latest versions are so flimsy. I wouldn't want to have to do it all again. But it looks like I'll have to at least once. And send Apple the bill for my wasted time. I ain't feelin' the glamour.

Using Mac Word for Windows software using Parallels

I'm using Parallels. I'm running a Windows program. The program has an export to Word function. I do not have Word on Windows, I just have MS Office on the Mac side. When I Export to Word in Windows, it says I need to have Word installed. Is there a way to have my Windows software utilize Word using Office for Mac?

Sorry, but no. Save the file on your Mac OS X volume if you have third-party software on Windows that enables you to write to a Mac drive. Or find out if you really need to have Word installed in order to export a file from your program to a Word compatible file.

Problems accesing files in Mac Mini for Windows users.

We have a Mac Mini that we use as a data server in our network. Our main server is Windows and most of the users are Windows users.
At first, we had dificulties for connecting this Windows users to the server, but finally we did it and they have been working good accesing the files on the server, until last saturday when we run an update on the server.
All the privileges for files and folders were distorted and the users that acces the server with Windows 7 and 8, can't open some files and can't modify others (there is a warning that says that the file is in use by another user and can only be read).
We already re asigned the privileges for each user and folders, but we are still having problems with users that work with Windows 7 and 8 because they can not open any file. Windows XP users do not have this problem and they are working fine.
Can someone help me with this issue?

Intel Based Mac - Parallels for Windows - Spyware Concern?

Having recently acquired the Mac, and become a convert, I've decided to install Parallels and having done so, it seems to work well for running the programmes in XP that we need (Office, occasional use of IE etc). However I do have some security concerns and I understand that I need to get an Anti Virus in place to protect the Windows partition on the hard drive
Not being very technically minded I wonder can anybody explain whether it would be possible for any Spyware which infiltrates the Windows part of the drive to then infiltrate the OS-X part and gather info re passwords etc?

Windows based spyware and such will generally affect Windows based systems and OS not your Mac OS, but you can help spread Windows based malware and infect other Windows users you communicate with by not using any protection. Having said that, it is wise to get some virus software, spyware and software firewall as safety measures.
I too run Windows XP in Parallels, and use AVG antivirus (free personal version), Sygate Personal Firewall (also free) and once in a while run Webroot Spysweeper (usually once a week). This is my exact same setup when i had a dedicated Windows tower and in all my years i never encountered anything malicious.

Yes, you can upgrade the ram, harddrive and optical drive yourself. There are several websites that show how to do it. I've done it twice, it is really no big deal. Flip the mini over, use the right size putty knife(s) and carefully lift the lid off...from there it's a matter of removing some screws, and then reversing the procedure.
I returned my mini 2.53 because I decided I really wanted to stick with laptop for this year. But for the 2 weeks I had it, I had Logic on it. Used a USB interface, and had some Firewire drives hooked up to it. It was excellent. It's so small that it can sit right on the desk where you can get at everything.
I left the 5400 drive in it, and had zero problems. It's a rare day when someone maxes out their harddrive speed. If you check your meters in Logic, the cpu has always been maxed long, long before the HD I/O has been. If you are running 96K 30+ track creations, a mini isn't even going to be on your radar. Yet, many people use nothing but a Macbook Pro to do some very complicated tracks...and a mini is really just a macbook pro without screen/keyboard/trackpad and jammed in a small box.
I think they are fantastic values.
