Mac Leopard & Dreamweaver

I installed the new Leopard 10.5.2 Update and my Photoshop
opens fine now and my InDesign does not crash right after opening
now! So I am VERY happy about that But there is a new problem. Now
my Dreamweaver crashes before it opens! UGH! I've tried to
uninstall and reinstall the Dreamweaver, but it did not help.
When will there be the net update to fix this?

two ways to go-
manually remove all the files/folders associated with dw CS3,
then
reinstall.

http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb400607
or use the CS3-cleaner script. get the mac version. note- it
removes stuff
for ALL cs3 apps.

I have a Mac leopard.  Did a recent recommended update.  When it finished,I restarted then a window came up to enter Master Password.  I don't know what it is  and when I try to enter one, the window shakes so I am unable to use computer at all.

Please confirm exactly what Mac this is, and what 'recent update' you installed.

  • I'm using a Mac / Leopard. I can no longer "save as" an image. Please see the "details" section for more information. Thanks.

I'm using a Mac / Leopard. Beginning about a month ago, I can no longer "save as" an image. The "Save Image As" menue comes up -- but then nothing. I can drag images onto the desktop, but that's it. I tossed out Firefox, and then downloaded it and reinstalled it, but have the same problem. (I couldn't figure out how to get rid of profiles and bookmarks -- so they remained). As I type this question on the Firefox website, I don't see the forum in front of me -- just a window to type a question. So, if you answer this question, I'm not sure I'll be able to find the answer. Thus, if you'd be so kind as to also email me the answer, that would be greatly appreciated: davidfreeman11 AT gmail.com Thanks

  • After migrating to new Mac Pro Dreamweaver won't launch, says missing menus.xml file. How do I resolve this?

After migration to a new Mac Pro Dreamweaver CS6 won't launch. It says it is missing menus.xml file. How do I resolve this?

    Hi rustyg12,
    Go to Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS6/Configuration/Menus/menus.bak
You'll see a menus.xml there - it is a backup copy of the actual menus.xml file that DW uses.
Copy it from that folder, paste it 1 level above (in Menus folder).
Fire up DW. See if it works.

  • Background of JMenuBar isn't set on Mac Leopard

I develop the applet and I want to change the color of JMenuBar background in Black color, so I use
    menuBar.setBackground(Color.BLACK)
But on Mac 10.5. Leopard the menuBar is not in BLACK color, it is in default gray color. On other OS(Win XP, Mac Tiger, Win Vista) it is in BLACK color as it must be.
JVM is 1.5.0_16 version on Mac Leopard and Mac Tiger. I build the applet by JVM 1.5 and 1.6 - the result is the same.
Could any one suggest the solution ?

    Hey there gconlon12,
It sounds like you are not seeing your iTunes in the Cloud purchases anymore when you open iTunes, but you still see them in your iPhone. You were on the right track to check your iTunes preferences, so check this one next. You want to be sure Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases is enabled in the Store preferences.
iTunes 11 for Mac: iTunes Store preferences
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12263
Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases
Display items purchased from the iTunes Store that haven’t been downloaded to your computer. These items have a Download button next to them.
If that is enabled, I would next verify that the Signed in Apple ID has not changed with this:
Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2589
Open the latest version of iTunes.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • What can I do to start back up in Mac Leopard OSX?

What can I do to start back up in Mac Leopard OSX?
My Original Purpose: Partition Mac HD to original state after installing Windows XP via BootCamp Because I wasn't using XP. To do this I know I have to Boot from Leopard install disc to access Disc Utility to Re-Partition hard drive.
Action Taken: Insert Leopard install Disc, went to System Preference> Startup>Selected Leopard Install Disc.
Problem: Install Disc ejected while switching to Windows XP(+failing optical drive+). Then I received Lock asking for Root password. Unable to remember root. Would change root if I could boot from startup disc but unable to at this point. So I shut down by holding power button, rebooted holding down "c", now I'm getting folder with question mark in it. Searched Post here, found out that external drive can be used, but it has to be firewire. Pull out external LaCIE external DVD, insert Leopard install disc, Held down "c", only get gray screen. No lock, no folder with question mark it.
What can I do to start back up in Mac OSX? I've read post here on but nothing specific to problems i'm having. Don't wanna waste anyone time, but if you could just paste a link on my post or reply if this message isn't clear. Thank You.

On start up is there any key commands that I can use to get me back to Mac OSX instead of inputing root password on screen?

  • Where do you get jnlp.jar for Mac Leopard 10.5.5

    Hello,
I am trying to use Persistence in JNLP on a Mac 10.5.5 with either 1.5 or 1.6. I have searched
my local disk the Mac developer web site and this website for "jnlp java Mac Leopard" no useful results.
Where can I get a jnlp.jar file that works on a Mac?
    Rinaldo

I was able to get the question answered on the mailto:[email protected] list.
    My friend http://www.google.com/search?q=jnlp.jar+mac+java&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t answered it.
Greg also provided some very useful information, especially the mdfind javaws.jar command
    http://lists.apple.com/archives/Java-dev/2008/Nov/msg00052.html
I see that in JDK 1.5, javaws.jar is included. For now I will assume that the javaws.jar classes have been moved to javaws.jar
jar tvf ./Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/lib/javaws.jar | grep jnlp

  • Mac Leopard from OS 10.2.8

I am currently running Mac OS 10.2.8, which I've obviously had for a LONG TIME! I want to upgrade to Mac Leopard. Is this possible from 10.2.8 or do I have to install 10.3 then 10.4 and finally 10.5? If I can install Leopard from 10.2.8 does it have to be a certain install disk, since I have an iBook? All the disks I'm coming across say eMac or macbook. If I purchase these disks, will they install on my iBook? Thanks so much!

    Hi IrishFirecreacker;
If they say they are specific to any other hardware they will not work for you.
You will either have to check out the specs of your iBook to be sure they meet the requirements of Leopard or tell us the specs and we will check them out for you. There are some rather stringent hardware requirements for Leopard and if your hardware does not meet them the install will fail.

  • Lightrooms 3.2 is keeping my Mac Leopard OSX 5.8 awake

Lightrooms 3.2 is keeping my Mac Leopard OSX 5.8 awake
When not in use my Mac usually goes to sleep and the machine becomes cold.
Since upgrading to Lightroom 3.2 the screen goes blank and goes to "sleep" but the machine is still doing "something" and stays warm all night.
Workaround "I just quit" Lightroom and it's ok.
Any ideas on how to let Lightroom allow the Mac to sleep?
    ?

It seems simple enough to just quit the program as you said.
Do you have it running something in the background?
In case you need it, here is Apple's KB article HT1776 . Make sure your Energy Settings are correct for what you want it to do.

  • Anybody experience with Mac Leopard or Tiger on Equium A210-17I

Has anybody experience with Mac Leopard or Tiger on an AMD Toshiba? I read about some folks installing it on AMD and Intel and wondered how it could feel and work on an Equium. I have A210 17l.
    Thanks for your input.

It seems to be that you are alone with this idea. If you will try it in the future please post a little bit about it.
    Good luck!

  • Moving Contacts from Windows XP Outlook to Mac Leopard Entourage

Is this possible? Can you provide directions? I have Bootcamp if it helps. Thanks.
    Louis

    Latan:
There is a way of importing contacts from Windows XP Outlook to Mac Leopard Entourage and that is by saving a file in a Text - comma separated values and then importing into Entourage.
    Here is how:
    1. Open Outlook in Windows
    2. Click on File and then *Import and Export*
    3. Choose *Export to a file* and hit Next
    4. Choose *Comma Separated Values (Windows)* and hit Next
    5. Then highlight Contacts and hit Next
    6. Choose a filename and a place to save the exported file and hit Next
    7. Confirm with a check mark next to *Export "Contacts" from folder: Contacts* and hit Finish
The above will have generated a file with the exported contacts from Outlook. Remember its name and location on the HD.
    1. Open Entourage in Leopard
    2. Go to File and choose Import
    3. Place a check mark on *Contacts or Messages from a text file* and click the *Right Arrow* at the bottom right of the window.
    4. Place a check mark on *Import contacts from a tab- or comma-delimited text file* and click on the *Right Arrow* at the bottom right of the window.
    5. Locate the file that you created above and highlight it in the next window. Once done then hit Import
That should bring in all the contacts into Entourage.
The above instructions are for importing outlook contacts into Entourage (Office 2008 for Mac). If you have any other version then it should still work however the menu choices may be slightly different.

Is Microsoft for Mac leopard compatible?

    Thanks for the quick responses...
I was refering to the "MS office suite" of products"; Word, Excel etc...
It is good to hear that they run on Leopard...
Sortof funny that windoze works when some native apps don't
Now it's just a matter of waiting for SuperDuper, then I might consider upgrading.
I have the family pack disk ready to go...

    Hello fellow Imac-ers.
I recently re-plugged in my printer after moving into my home and am having some nasty issues. My printer is a Canon PIXMA mp520, and has never given me these sorts of problems and I am completely stumped.
When I try to go through the Add-Printer process through the System Preferences, it asks me to select a driver. Now, there must be more than 500 of these, and I simply cannot figure which one to use.
I chose a Canon Pixma 600 drive, and my printer seemed to respond at first. It goes through the process of printing the paper, but I find the page blank after it runs through the printer!
Does anyone know which driver is compatible with my Mac Leopard OS?
The printer is a Canon Pixma MP520.
    Please help me!
    Thanks - Zbach

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
If you have the MP520 connected directly to your Mac via a USB cable, then you should not have to locate a printer driver in the Print Using menu. The printer should be automatically added to your printer list by the Canon driver software.
When this doesn't occur then it can indicate a problem with the Canon software or something is stopping the communication between the Mac and the MP520.
So, assuming by your post this was working previously and all you have done is unplug the printer, move the Mac and then plug the printer back in, has anything changed from the previous setup? Things like, are you using the same USB cable; have you put a USB hub between the printer and the Mac; are you now sharing the printer from a PC or wireless router; are possible causes of your trouble.
Regarding the use of the MP600 driver, you often cannot use a different model of inkjet driver to the model you have. Doing so will cause the result you are getting. But there are times when you do need to use a CUPS-based driver, such as those provided by Gutenprint. One such time is when you have the printer shared by a Windows computer or non-Apple wireless router. (which are included with the OS). If you are using Mac OS X 10.5 (your tag shows Mac OS X 10.6.2) then you will find that version 5.1.3 is included with your OS. The MP520 was not supported by this version but if you download version 5.2.4 (by clicking on Gutenprint above) and install, you will have the MP520 listed as a supported model.
Hope this helps you. Please reply if you still need more help.

  • Should I go convert from WinXP to Mac Leopard ?

I have not used Mac Leopard before and not sure if it is easy to use ? I have tried watching the video but the video is only showing off some amazing features of Leopard but I am still not sure on the filesystem etc. I am used to Unix command as compare to DOS command and am not sure whether it has a command prompt program (for running unix) just like what WinXP does ? Thanks.

I wanted to escape from Microsoft for years before I finally bought a MacBook Pro about 1 1/2 years ago. Though I loved it in general, I was shocked to discover that I had to mess around with all that command line/terminal stuff in order to set up PHP and MySQL (which I never completely resolved). I thought the whole point of using a Mac was user friendliness. I actually found PHP and MySQL easier to set up and tweak on my PC than on my Mac.
Still, I think Mac is better than Microsoft (even XP) overall, even after going through a nightmare install of Leopard. Now that Leopard's up and running, my computer seems to be operating better than ever, apparently with even fewer bugs than I had when I was running Tiger.
I'm thinking of purchasing a program called MAMP PRO, which automatically installs and configures Apache, PHP and MySQL. However, if you're familiar with Unix, then all this stuff is probably easy for you.

  • I am using a Mac Leopard and want to know if I upgrade to Snow Leopard (so I can use the new Lightroom 4) will any of my programs be affected.  I will not be able to restore some software and want to know if I'll lose those programs with the upgrade?

    Hello,
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

It looks like they do still have it:

And it's been reported that if you have a MobileMe account Apple will send one free.
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
