Hello,
I did a quick search for your error as I found a few links that people have posted about this error. It appears to be an issue with  access for the key chain

  • Lightroom 4 installation problem (windows 7)

Hi, I'm having trouble installing Lightroom 4 on my Dell studio 15 laptop (64 bit-Windows 7, 4 GB RAM).  The installer seems to stop after the pop-up saying it is 'extracting Adobe_lightroom4_x64.msi'.  The pop-up disappears and nothing else happens.  I've tried restarting, uninstalling Lightroom 2, running ccleaner, re-downloading the installer, turning off Microsoft security essentials and the windows firewall, and starting up in safe mode (the latter gives a message saying it can't install in safe mode).  What else should I try?

It sounds like for whatever reason the installer isn't able to extract the 64 bit install files. Lightroom comes as one file but it is really just a bundled up archive with both the 32bit and 64bit installers included. When you run it the installer extracts these and then runs the one relevant to your system (in this case it would be the 64 bit installer).
As you have another machine where the install goes ok you could run the installer on this machine, it will extract the install files at which point you should be able to copy those files onto a USB stick or something, take them home and then run the installer directly. Hopefully this should get around the problem that the installer is having extracting the files and allow you to install the program directly.

Lightroom 3.2 Installation Problem on Windows 7 64-bit
I can't install Lightroom 3.2 (German) on my computer (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).
While copying the extracted program files the following error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
I found out that other users had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution.
Perhaps it is a Microsoft .NET Framework related problem. But after installing .NET Framework 4 nothing changed.
Thanks for ideas to solve the problem.

Thanks for your advice, Mr. McLion.
I downloaded the 3.4.1 version and started the installation as administrator. Unfortunately the same error message occured again.
Then I tried to install the 32-bit version (although I prefer a 64-bit program on a 64-bit operating system). A similar error message appeared at the same point of installation progress, but with another combination of numbers and letters in brackets.

You are right, Adobe does not support CS5 because it is no longer sold.
Simply download the trial version of CS5 from this Adobe web site and input your serial number.

  • Wierd Mac Installer problems

Im not sure why but i cant get any .pkg files to install properly. At some point in the installation the UI becomes totally un responsive and i get the spinning beachball of death. This happens for me with various pkg files, namely the iPhone SDK installer and the Onyx installer package?
    Does anyone have any ideas?

See my post with this same post date in the topic iLife '09 installation problems; run preflight script error for one possible cause of this behavior.
It also could be that you need to run the "Permissions Repair" option in Disk Utility's First Aid tab to correct some permission on a system file used during the installation procedure; that your drive's file system needs to be repaired with the "Repair Disk" option; or that the drive does not have adequate free space to complete the installation. (As a rule of thumb, try to leave 10 to 15% of the startup volume's capacity free, or at lease 5 GB over & above whatever the installer tells you is needed for the install itself.)
As a general rule, it is a good idea to quit all other applications before doing an installation that uses Apple's Installer.app, & it may be necessary to disconnect non-essential peripherals (everything except the keyboard, mouse, & monitor) & restart before doing so. You should also consider removing any hacks or uninstalling any third party "enhancers" that modify basic system behavior before doing installs, or at least making sure that the latest versions of such things are installed. (Some "enhancers," especially "Application Enhancer" -- a.k.a "APE"-- are installed by other third party products & their developers do not always make that clear, so do not assume one of these things is not on your Mac just because you have not installed it directly.)

this is from emma at https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/12/lightroom-5-3-now-available.html
I had this same error and managed to get around it by running the .msi file that the CC app downloaded to a temp folder on my own. Steps were:
    1. Find the location Adobe_Lightroom_X64.msi (in a a temp folder)
    2. Run it and install (serial number was already pre-filled out)
    3. Restart the CC desktop app
It then appeared as installed under ‘Your Apps’ and works as usual.

  • Installation problem w/Vista

    Boot Camp/Vista installation problem
MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.2.
Trying to install Windows Vista Home Premium using Boot Camp.
Started Boot Camp Installer and created 32GB partition. Inserted Vista disk as instructed and clicked on Start Installation.
Black screen appeared looking like this:
    1.
    2.
    Select CD-ROM Boot Type: _
That last underline was flashing, waiting for input.
First off, I don't know what to type in, but . . .
The keyboard appears to be disabled because no keystroke registers, nor Return/Enter. Even pressing caps lock or num lock fails to register a light on those keys.
The only way out is to hold down the power key until shutdown, then restart with Eject key depressed to eject Vista disk.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi RebelGood,
    have a look here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=467704 for instructions/solution.
Basically you have to make yourself a copy of your Vista disc using the files of that disc and a programm called oscdimg.exe plus a burning program.
And it had to be done on a Windows PC or in virtualized Windows (using Parallels/Fusion/VirtualBox) on your Mac.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Is After Effects CS5.5 PowerPC-only? (Installation Problem)

I just installed Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium on a new (2012) Mac Mini (Intel Core i7 processor) running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Most of the apps installed correctly, but After Effects CS5.5 gives me the following error when I try to launch:
You can't open the application "Adobe After Effects CS5.5" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the app (along with Flash Catalyst, which also fails), but the error remains. What's the deal here? Is it an installation problem, or is After Effects CS5.5 truly incompatible with my new hardware/OS?  Any suggestions appreciated.

Okay, answered my own question.  I was installing on a Mac Mini, which doesn't have an optical drive, so I was using a remote optical drive to install across my network.  Turns out that confused the installer.  I ended up copying the install DVD onto a flash drive and installing from that.  Problem went away.

  • Upgrading to Tiger Installer problems

Ok, thanks in advance for giving a glance, and, Happiest of Holidays.
I did search and still doesn't fit my situation...
Upgrading to Tiger-retail box from OWC. I use an external partinioned 200g firewire drive as a B/U and bootable OS/software tester before installing on the Pismo. The drive has 10G space available on the bootable OS partion.
Start the Tiger DVD installer it begins and after installing Base System part 1 and moving to Running Installer Script the process stalls; doesn't crash - just stops: The FW drive stops blinking and the DVD stops spinning....
OK maybe i overlooked something etc... Have to erase the OS partition; clone 10.3.9 from the pismo to it and start again. This time do all the checks: Run disk utility, Tiger cache cleaner etc... all works well, even boot and work on the drive for a few days. Start the upgrade process again, stalls at the exact same place. I want to run Tiger on the FW drive prior to the Pismo to check it out and i don't relish the thought of having to start from scratch if problems occur installing on the Pismo....
This time i printed the log file which i include below.
I called OWC tech dept. - they said i probably don't have enough disk space for the process... the process told me it only required 3.5G. They didn't offer any further knowledge.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
    Peace

  • Installation problems with Windows

    Hi,
I have the windows 7 beta and have been trying to reinstall it on my boot camp partition, however the installation continually reports a corrupt CD. I know that the CD is not corrupt because i have successfully installed Win7 beta on a boot camp drive before and on other computers. I have even tried on VMware and had the same error. The things that strikes me the oddest problem is that it always has the error at the same point of the installation e.g. 97% of expanding files. I have also tried installing a working Vista OS on boot camp and WMware and still had the same error. This leads me to believe a problem with the iMac's SuperDrive. I have run tests using tech tool pro and drive genius and had no anomalies. Any further steps to diagnose or a solution would be helpful, thank you.

I don't know about using Windows 7 Beta with Boot Camp. You may want to post that question in the category for Boot Camp.
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=237
However, I have messed around with using Windows 7 Beta under VMware Fusion. It works, with some graphical anomalies when the virtual machine is starting up. When I install a new OS into a VMware Fusion virtual machine, I always use the option to install from a disk image file, instead of a physical disc. That would avoid any issues you have there with your physical disc.
To do so, click the New button and then +Continue without disk+. Then +Use operating system disk image file+ and select the disk image file. In your case, that would be the Window 7 Beta .iso file that you downloaded. I told the VMware Fusion I was installing Windows Vista.
(Incidentally, I am using the 64-bit version. If your iMac is Core 2 Duo, you can. Don't know if that you make a difference in the Beta working or not working.)
To test the drive itself, you may want to start up from your Mac OS X installation disc and get to the Installer. From there, you can try running Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. While you are there in Disk Utility booted off another system, you might as well run a +Repair Disk+ in your startup volume. Then restart normally and try playing a DVD movie. If everything works, the optical drive is probably OK.

  • ++ Debugging ACR Installation Problems ++

If Photoshop CS2/Bridge is not working correctly after you attempt to install ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 3.1 or higher, here a some hints on how to debug common installation problems.
    1. Make sure that "Camera Raw" appears exactly once in Photoshop's "About Plug-in" menu. If it appears zero times, you did not install the plug-in in a correct location. The correct location is shown below. If it appears more than one time, you have multiple copies of the plug-in installed.
The new location for Adobe Camera Raw 3.x and 4.x is:
    >Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CS2/File Formats/
b Note: that the Library folder refered to above is that found at root level and NOT the User/Library folder.
    >Win: \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-ins\CS2\File Formats\
    2. If "Camera Raw" appears exactly once in the "About Plug-in" menu, then pick that item and make sure the Camera Raw about box shows version 3.1 or higher. If not, you have the wrong version of Camera Raw installed.
    3. Run Bridge and pick "Camera Raw Preferences..." from the Bridge(Mac) or Edit(Win) menu. If the command is grayed out, then you don't have Camera Raw installed in the correct place. If the Camera Raw preferences dialog does not have "Version 3.1 or higher" in the title bar, you have the wrong version of Camera Raw installed.
If after you verify that that 1, 2 and 3 are correct, and you are still having problems (e.g. generic raw image icons in lieu of thumbnail previews), then next step is to purge the Adobe Bridge cache for any folders you are having problems with. The command to use is:
    "Tools->Cache->Purge Cache for this Folder".

Understood guys. But let me make a few points.
    1. Clearly I'm not the only one who had this problem. In fact, I wasn't the first person in this THREAD to have the problem.
    2. I'm fairly computer savvy, and have worked with Photoshop for several years.
    3. Yes, it does say c: in point 3, but I find it odd that in point 4 it does say Program Files/.... A very strange way to write it. Also, the c: drive is the default installation drive, so it's not idiocy for someone to assume that the file would be located on the same drive as you selected for installation.
    4. This is not about technically right or wrong. I never said that the instructions were wrong. I merely was trying to make a suggestion that would help people avoid the same trap I fell into. Was it my mistake? Yes. Would my clarifying suggestion perhaps help others avoid making the mistake I did. I would hope so. Also, as someone else suggested in this thread, Adobe SHOULD have written an installation program for the ACR 3.1 upgrade that did the placing automatically. After all, EVERYONE knew that ACR3.1 would be released shortly after the release for CS2...in fact Mr. Knoll himself was quoted in other forums about when D2X compatibility would actually happen.
    5. The purpose of these forums is to be helpful to other users--not to be patronizing or rude. I'm a big Photoshop fan, and a loyal customer. I'm also in the service industry, and I would bet that customer service experts would raise an eyebrow or two about the tone contained in certain messages in this thread, including from an Adobe employee.
Just my two cents. Flame away if you must. But you might want to take a look at what I actually suggested in my last message before lighting up the torch.

  • Lightroom 4 book problem

Hi, I just paid for Lightroom 4 after running out my trial and discovered a problem in the book module. I was editing a photo in CS5 and the book went squirrelly. Duplicated parts of pages and inserted them overtop of others which deleted the original pages . When I started replacing the photos they would show for about 10 or 15 seconds then disappear.  When I click on the blank page, the film strip goes to the photo I wanted in there but it's not visible in the book page.
I downloaded the patch, rebooted my Mac and the same problem occurs. Anyone know the fix? iMac, 4 gigs RAM, importing jpegs from external drive but exporting them first from iPhoto.
    Ben

Please notify Blurb with your complaint.  They will respond, however it may be slowly during the holiday season.
I'm not defending Blurb in the slightest as I have ordered the same book three times now and am waiting on a single good (read correct) copy.  They have at least admitted fault and credited my account for the charges.  I hope to some day have a "good" copy of my book.  The last one I ordered is being shipped to a relative some 2,000 miles from me and I won't know the condition of the book until after the holidays to see if it was printed correctly.  Had to take the chance as it was intended as a present.  Can only hope they got this one right!
But do contact them via customer support and give them a chance to make good.  They offer everyone that option!
Good luck and keep your fingers crossed for me...

  • "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo."

    ***** UPDATE July 17, 2013 @ 9:16 am Central Time (UTC -06:00)*****
After Creating a fresh catalog I have been able to clarify the issue a bit. This error appears to only show up in Folders exported as Catalogs. Particularly when I try and open that exported catalog.
I suspect there is a problem with the way Lightroom 5 is exporting these catalogs. I didn't have this issue with LR4.4, but it shows up any time I export a folder as a catalog within LR5, regardless of whether or not it is exported from an upgraded catalog or a fressly created catalog.
It looks like fixing the problem is going to be time consuming, but not impossible. So far I have confirmed that these files - reported as throwing this error by Lightroom 5 ("Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo .... You will not be able to make adjustment to this photo.") - can be imported into a new/existing catalog by multiple methods without carrying over the errors displayed in the exported catalog.
This is frustrating and adds additional steps to my workflow, but isn't undoable. Of course it would be nice if LR5 worked as correctly and exported folders as catalogs without throwing errors when those new catalogs were opened...
Is anyone else seeing this problem when they open catalogs created by "exporting a folder as a catalog"?
    ***** Original Post *****
I'm really confused. I am consistently getting this message on certain exports, but not others...
    When it happens:
    1) "Export this Folder as a Catalog" from a specific folder within my Working Catalog
         Select the location
         Select "Export negative files"
When I open the NEW Catalog - ALL the photos reflect this error message: "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo .... You will not be able to make adjustment to this photo."
When I go to the Develop tab it displays "There was an error working with the photo" over the photo, but I can edit it... When I close the catalog and re-open it, the changes don't reflect UNTIL I go back to the Develop tab, then the thumbnail will reflect the change. But the system still insists that it has a problem with the file...
    2) The same thing happens when I export the file from my Working Catalog as an image of the same format - be it tif, dng, or psd, or RAW files. Not sure what I was refering to here (can't duplicate today - July 17).
    When it doesn't happen:
When I export the file to the auto import folder for my Portfolio catalog (original format). This seems to work...
Why am I so confused? Because all of these catalogs are located on the same drive (which is different than the drive my Working Catalog is on). When they are auto imported to my Portfolio catalog they seem to work, but everything else throws an error sinse I upgraded to LR5!
    My System:
Windows 7 Pro SP1 (fully up to date) 64-bit
    Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07GHz
    Installed RAM: 12.0 GB
My Lightroom 5 Working Catalog doesn't seem to be having any problems...
This problem is frustrating enough that I may go back to LR4. I can't have my archived files compromised...

Suggestion to all who encounter problems like this: if you've installed 3rd party memory cards (ram), go back to your original ram, or at least the brand of ram that your computuer came with.
    Long story, short:
I had the same error message in LR5.  It only happened with several images in a given import.  If I deleted all of the images from the import and reimported the images, a different set of images would have the error message.  The images that originally had the message would no longer have the problem.  I deleted and reimported several times while observing the same behavior.
Not only did lightroom give me issues, but Bridge had problems reading the files, and the previews of the problem images would not show up in Finder (Mac speak).  This ruled out, to me at least, that it was a software issue.  I went out and purchased a new card reader and had the same problems.  I tried a different card with different images and got the same problems.
After I contacted Adobe, they had me upload two files with the error, and they said the files were corrupted due to faulty hardware.  I took my mac book pro (13in early 2011 w/ 10.7.5) to the apple store and they ran a diagnostic test amoung other test and we came up with nothing.  Everything seemed to be good on the hardware side.  After some research the Rep. asked me about my ram (memory cards).  I had in the past installed two 3rd party cards to boost my ram from 4GB to 8GB. The rep. suggested that I go home and test the issue with the original ram my computer came with before we go any farther.  So far, I haven't had any issues.
    I hope this helps,
    Josef

  • Macbook Installation Problems

Hello everyone thanks in advance to anyone who reads and responds to this.
I've been having some ridiculous problems with my Macbook lately. Recently I tried installing Windows on my macbook through bootcamp, big mistake. It was laggy unresponsive, applications crashed left and right, typical Vista problems I've experienced before on other computers so I deleted the partition and went about my usual activities.
Things weren't the same though, for the first time in the 8 months I have had the computer applications in Leopard also started crashing and closing "unexpectedly". So I busted out the installation disks and decided to do a clean reinstall of the operating system. I completely reformatted the hard drive and tried to reinstall the operating system. After four tries of getting the operating system on partially with still having problems installing simple programs and downloading updates, I took it to the apple store.
They did a full hardware check to make sure nothing was damaged which is was not. They tried to a clean wipe and reinstall again, after getting the basic operating system back on they tried to install the updates again and...you guessed it the installation failed and was aborted. They were able to do a manual install of the latest version of OSX 10.5.7 which did work, hopefully fixing the problem which it seemed to at first the application crashes and lagging was a minimum and was manageable, however in the last day or two the computer has taken another dive bomb into the crap hole and all the applications are crashing "unexpectedly" and installations of updates and programs keep failing.
Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening? Even after a full hardware diagnostic and multiple reformats of the Hard Drive and reinstallation of the OS? I would say I'm a moderate user I surf the web, play a game or two on my computer and listen to music that is the extent of my usage I can't imagine what could be going on to cause all these errors.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions....
    *My application quit unexpectedly*
There are several reasons an application might quit suddenly. If an application does so repeatedly, try to correct the problem by:
    • Reopening the application. Click Reopen in the dialog that appears when the application quits unexpectedly.
    • Clicking Try Again in the dialog that appears if the application crashes after using the Reopen button. If there is a problem with the application's preferences file, clicking Try Again sets the application to temporarily use new settings based on the application's default settings.
    • Restarting your computer by choosing Apple > Restart.
    • Uninstalling any third-party plug-ins or enhancements for the application that's quitting unexpectedly. When you update an application or Mac OS X, a plug-in or enhancement you previously installed may not be compatible any longer.
    • Reading the application's documentation (including Read Me notes) to check if it's compatible with your version of Mac OS X.
    • Opening another document in the application. There may be a problem with the document you were opening before.
    • Using Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder or on your Mac OS X installation disc) to repair the disk.
    • Updating your software by choosing Apple > Update Software. Updates often correct issues found in previous versions. For applications not produced by Apple, look for updates on the manufacturer's website.
    • Disconnecting any peripheral device you just connected (for example, a printer). It may not be compatible with your version of Mac OS X. If disconnecting the device solves your problem, contact its manufacturer.
    • Running Apple Hardware Test, on a disc that came with your computer.
How much free drive space is there? Control or right click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop. Click "Get Info". Under the General tab you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is at least 10% available disk space, 15% is better. Insufficient disk space can cause the problems you are experiencing.
