Mac lost connection to my account iMessage

My mac lost connection to my iMessage account. All the names of my contacts are signed in red (and not in green as usual), and I can't send SMS.
Is there a reason that my mac is doing this? please help

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

    You would need to use one Apple ID for purchases in order to get them across all of your devices and computer. If you want you can use one Apple ID for purchases and the other one to sync personal data. The article below will explain further.

    when I scrolled pages in win apps by using touchpad or apple mouse rdp lost connection and error message appears: "connection reset by peer"
    It appear not always but if I switch from one apps to anther in launchpad and tries to scroll at once in active window(not always but often). But if after switching to that app I press somewhere inside active window by mouse I can scroll (in that case scroll
    always works correctly)
    It seems that in RDP after switching to new app window it gets focus only after clicking inside active window.
    It's difficult to me describe it exactly in english

  • Mac lost connection to Laserjet P1505n

    My Mac computer (OSX 10.9.5) says the printer is "not connected" (but it is..!)
    I removed the software in the Mac printer panel to re-install ( adding with + sign) after HP support page advice but it nothing to be found... and I can't download it 'cause it's supposed to be built in. So it seems it's just a broken connection somehow. When I turn on the printer. the lamps flashes, then the red warning triangle lamp flashes for itself for a while. Then it turns off and the steady green "ok" light is on. 
    I have tried different USB ports and 2 different cables, that I used before for this. Re-started the computer several times. Paper is ok. Test page comes out fine. When I first got the printer, my computor found it by itself. And it worked excellent until I disconnected it over the weekend. 
    I hope someone recognize this problem and can help me out?

    Hi , I see that you are having issues with the Mac not recognizing the printer connected by a USB connection. The hardware self tests print fine though. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
    I have provided a few steps to try, to see if we can get the printer recognized again on the Mac. Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet and the USB cable is connected directly to the computer. The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. I read that you already have tried different ports and different USB cables with the same results. Double check the port on the back of the printer, where the USB cable connects to, since there is also a Ethernet port. It could easily be mistaken for the USB port if you don't have the printer turned around to view the ports. Repair the Disk Permissions on the Mac:Close all applications.On the Apple menu bar, click Go, click Applications and then click Utilities.Double-click Disk Utility.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left.Click Verify and then Repair Disk Permissions. Restart the computer.. Reset the Printing System: Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol. Click the Apple icon and then click System Preferences.Click Printers & Scanners.Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left white side panel, then click Reset printing system.Click OK to confirm the reset.Type the correct Name and Password.Click OK to reset the printing system.Then click the + sign to add the driver, highlight the printer. (you might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name) Then click on the Add button.
     If the printer still isn't showing up in the Printers and Scanners window, check to see if the Mac sees the printer connected through the System Profiler. Go to the Apple, select about this Mac, system report, select USB.
    Do you see the printer listed? If you have another computer, connect the printer to it by the USB cable to see if it gets recognized, just to rule out the USB port on the printer not working. If it turns out to be a issue with the USB port on the printer, you can always network the printer with a Ethernet cable from the printer to a router. If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know. Have a nice weekend!

    Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
    Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
    Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
    Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID.

    HI,
    The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
    Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
    A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as  Jabber Name/ID.  (Google Run  Jabber server).
    Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another.  (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
    iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen  (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
    Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
    Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
    However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

    You'll need to erase the drive by booting up holding command-option-r keys into your Recovery Volume.
    Use Disk Utility to erase the disk and then Internet Recovery. That will take a while.

  • Receiving error message on mac saying that iCloud can't connect to my account

    I keep getting an error message on my Mac when it wakes from sleep that iCloud can't connect to my @me.com email address.  It directs me to a link in system preferences, but everything appears fine there.  My backups to my iPad and iPhone appear to be working fine.  Any ideas?  I'm not even sure that my Mac is connecting and syncing with iCloud at this time. 

    To me, it seems as though you have not SAVED your yahoo email password in your keychain... And because of this, everytime Mail is trying to fetch your email, probably every 10 mins, it has to ask for your password because it doesn't have it.  You would have to enter it every time the program asks the server if there is new email.  You can go into the settings for your account and add the password, assuming its not already there.  If you add it to the account keychain you would not have to enter it again.  The settings can be found in the preferences tab.  Select your yahoo account and add the password in the box below your user name.  When you close the window out, it will ask you if you want to save the settings.  Click yes.  This should fix your issue.

  • Adobe Flash lost connection @ 30%. Mac install fails.

    I am seeing this all over the forums with no one finding a solution. I have tried everything suggested either in Safari or Firefox including a clean install 3 times!! Even after uninstalling and deleting the flash files in the library, when I go to try downloading and installing it immediately starts at 30% and then I get the error message "Lost connection. Trying to connect...." then it hangs for a bit and then I get "Connection failed. Unable to complete installation."     This same link is showing up in several forums for a solution. I don't know what else to do. I'm posting this to add to the many many others with the same issue in hopes that Adobe will fix this! I am on a MAC OS 10.9.5. Never had this issue before with the flash updates!!!

    I downloaded and was able to install Flash properly. Make sure you do a clean install just to be sure.

    I keep getting the following message when opening my email....mac cannot connect to iCloud because of a problem with my iCloud account. 

    I have another kind of message. I am connected perfectly to iCloud but receive this every hour or so : "This Mac cannot connect to iCloud due to a problem with "address mail" of said account.
    But :
    1. I AM connected
    2. When I open i Cloud prefs it asks me to type my iCloud details (email address and password), then it says iCloud is in fac ALREADY open.
    3. When reading troubleshoot doc Carolyne linked to, I read this :
    Close and reopen iCloud preferences before attempting to sign in to iCloud again.
    If that does not resolve the issue, check your email folder and Junk folder for a verification email sent from Apple.
    If there is no verification email in your email folder or Junk folder, click the Resend Verification Email button in iCloud preferences.
    My comments :
    - How can I close iCloud ? Document doesn't say. By clicking the "—" sign in iCloud prefs ???
    - I cannot see any "Verification Email button in iCloud.

  • Airport express connection - lost connectivity to iPad with iOS6 a while ago now lost connectivity to Mac with iTunes 11.1?

    Many months ago I upgraded to iOS6 and as a result lost connectivity to my old airport express and tried to resest and reconfig.  I gave up on fixing that and was content with the fact that my Mac still had connectivity.  Now with the upgrade to iTunes 11.1 my Mac has lost connectivity.  Am I dealing with an oboslete airport express, or might this be a configuration issue?

    I now have this exact same problem...
    My mac to my airport express was working fine up until I performed the update to iTunes 11.1.  Now when I select the airplay speakers from the drop down menu I get this error:
    The airplay device 'X' cannot be found on your network.  Please verify your network settings and Airplay configuration or select another device.  (Typed out for people who are looking on for this issue on search engines).
    Though my newly updated iPhone on iOS 7 can use the airplay fine without any issues.
    So since the new update my phone can use the speakers but my Macbook Pro can't? Help!

    I lost connectivity with the wireless keyboard and I can't unlock the lock screen.What can i do?

    Sometimes powering the keyboard off by holding in the power button on the right end of the battery box and then after ten of so seconds powering up again will reestablish the connection. Other than that forcing a reboot using the power switch on the mini should  restore the connection unless thereis something else going on.
    If this is a recurring problem try replacing the batteries with fresh ones. If this keyboard has been paired with another bluetooth device such as an iPad or another Mac, unpair it from the other device.

    After I update the lastest operation system, my air lost connection frequently. Each time I have to manually turn off the Wi-Fi for half minute. Then turn it up and it works again. It has happen for dozens of times. Is there anyway to fix it?

    I had same problem.  Warning -- I am no expert, but tried some things out of desparation and one worked.  I have Macbook Pro (about 3 years old).  My wife as old iMac (too old for newer OS updates).  We have wifi network.  threee computers use the network, 3 ipads, and our iphones. 
    I went into network settings - clicked on our network -- went to advanced -- then opened TCP/IP tab and changed the Configure IPv4: to Using DHCP with manual address.  I then entered the address I found on my iPad by going to Setting / WI-FI to find our Network. I clicke the i with the circle around it (information) and found the IP address, I entered the IP address into the MacBook Pro IPv4 address, which is in the format of XX.X.X.XX.  However I changed the last number by one digit up.  Clicked apply and it worked.  Again I am a novice, so this may or may not be a good idea, but at least for now, it is working.  DWall71

  • Lost connection to wireless network on Mac Pro

    My network infrastructure at home is as follows:
    An Airport Extreme links to my DSL modem.
    One Mac Pro is connected to the Airport Extreme via Ethernet.
    One Airport Express extends the wireless network.
    Another Mac Pro connects to the extended wireless network.
    One Airport Express is used for Airtunes.
    There are also a PS3 and an Xbox 360 in the wireless network.
    Since this morning the "wireless" Mac Pro cannot see the wireless network anymore. I did not change any notwork settings and my wireless network is still saved as preferred network. Airport in OSX just cannot see it. However, I can see our neighbors' networks, so I assume Airport is working in the Mac. Upon login I get a dialog box prompting me to select a wireless network. My own network is not listed.
    All Airport base stations have a green light and show up as working fine in the Airport Utility on the "wired" Mac.
    When I use my iPod touch in the room with the "wireless" I can log into the wireless network without any problems. When I unplug the Airport Express station extending the network, the iPod's connection is much weaker or even breaks off. Thus I assume the network is fine and the base stations are indeed working properly.
    I did not change anything in the hardware or software configuration. So I am flabbergasted as to what caused the loss of connectivity.
    Any ideas, what I could try to get the "wireless" Mac connected again?
    The pearls of wisdom from the Mac community are highly appreciated.

    I've spent some time with AppleCare on this issue. They had me trash some preferences files, then run the Disk Utility to "Repair Disk Permissions" on my hard drive. They said this should fix it if it's a software issue, but if not then it's an Airport hardware issue, and I should take my MacBook to the Apple Store for repair.
    FOLLOW THESE STEPS
    1 - Trash these prefs files from your Library:
    - com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    - NetworkInterfaces.plist
    - preferences.plist
    2 - Restart computer.
    3 - Go to your Network Preferences and define a new location. Then click on the little gear icon to "Set Service Order" and put Airport at the top. Click Apply.
    4 - Open Disk Utility and select your hard drive. Click on the button that says "Repair Disk Permissions". You'll see some warnings etc.
    This should work for both Tiger and Leopard. I upgraded over the weekend.
