Mac Mail address confusion

I have two accounts in Mac mail, let's call them Amail and Zmail. And only one SMTP outgoing mail server, namely, my ISP's server (which is different from the mail servers for both those two acounts).
From account Zmail I send a message and copy me in on it. Apprently the From on it gets changed from my Zmail address that was on the outgoing message to my AMail address. At least that's what I see on the copy sent to me, and because of the change my message is being rejected by a recipient who requires e-mail address registration, where I'm registered with my Zmail address.
What Preference or other setting will fix this?

So it simply won't do to send outgoing messages through the same smtp server? I thought I could do that when I was still using Thunderbird as my e-mail client under OS X rather than Mac Mail.

Mac Mail & Address Book - Capacity & Storage

Hi all - I have a question regarding the maximum capacities for MacMail & Address Book.
MacMail
Is there a maximum number of messages that can be housed in any given folder? I know it's a good idea to move messages from say, the Inbox, to a sub folder to keep the application running at peak. But what about Sent or Trash? Should messages in these mailboxes be cleared to sub folders on occasion? Also, before anyone says anything about deleting messages, this is not an option ; )
As a rule, we've been moving messages from Trash to sub folders on an iMac running 10.4. Our Macbook pro however does not allow for messages to be moved into sub folders from Trash. Why would this be?
At the moment on the iMac the number of messages in a sub folder called Storage (moved from Trash) is 25K. I wonder if this will max out eventually and wipe messages, as happened about 6 months ago in the Trash folder? Is there industrial strength email software that works great on a Mac?

Similar to the MacMail question. Is there a maximum number of contacts that one can have using Address Book? Does anyone have a recommendation on an industrial strength solution for contact management that plays nicely with Mac?

If you have MobileMe, you can use a me email. If not, you need OS X Lion to use iCloud

Problem with Mac Mail Address Bar

When I type a name in the Mac Mail program, it can take as much as 15 seconds to find the record and insert the name in the TO bar of my outgoing e-mail. I was told that this may have something to do with the large volme of data bing parsed by the Mac LDAP program. How do I eleminate the long wait time. It's frustrating to simply write an e-mail to anyone. Interestingly, when I write an e-mail in Outlook on a P.C., i don't experience the same lag time issue. Anybody got any solutions?

from this above , i can understand that Inbox ( 2.82 Gb ) and Sent ( 767.4 Mb ) and Drafts are real folders that contains actual files according to the current status on server .
what the **** the other folders contains , i can not get. I though those folders should have just show the same files available in the main folders , in different way, according to Folder focus. Am i right ??
apparently i suspect they just copied original files for some purpuses, insead of working as simple filter folders.
can anybody explain me , how to work this out and make my Mail app do not dublicate emails , but store them in appropriate way and show it to me .

I have AB/ General set as show first name and sort by first name but it changes nothing. The names are still mixed up.

Mail address confusion between .mac and .me

When I reply to a mail sent to my .mac address Mail automatically adds my .me account to the cc: box. This is a pain as I send it to myself and others get 2 emails from me?
Please hlep with a fix for this.

Mac Mail Address Autofill Leaving Text In Field Instead of Email Address Link

This is a new development that has started occurring since I upgraded to Maverick. When I start typing an address into the address bar, it quickly autofills with the correct address. I used to be able to hit the right arrow for it to enter that address and allow me to add more. Now when I hit the right arrow, it leaves the text in the address line from the autofill, but it isn't formatted as a contact link in a blue bubble. If I press tab it works fine, but then I have to go back each time and click in the address field to continue adding recipients.

Try re-indexing the mailboxes. This can take awhile if you have a lot of mail.

PHISHING EMAIL FROM MYSELF I.E. MY MAC MAIL ADDRESS-WHAT TO DO

I have been receiving a few spam emails lately to my mac account and noticed they all seem to originate from Russia which is not good. However today I received an email from my own address but with a precursor title then my email address and it list only my email as the return path. I've never gotten anything like this before. Have I been compromised???

This happens to everybody. Some spambot found your email address on a list somewhere and inserted it it the "From:" field of a few million spam messages. This is called "spoofing" your address, and is a standard spammer practice. It doesn't indicate that anybody has gotten into your computer — only that your email address is out there in cyberspace. That's no surprise: everyone's is. Don't worry about it.

This is really a question better asked to Yahoo support but...
Go to the Addresses tab of Yahoo and click on the 'Import/Export' link
Click the Export Now button for vCard Single File, then when it downloads double click it to import into AddressBook.

Mac mail wont send from new address

I wonder if anyone can help me...I recently purchased a mac mail address for my girlfriend and i set it up. (anyone who has done this before will know that all you have to do is put your username and password in to set the @mac address up and all the rest is done for you). However, i can not send mail to her new address, nor can i send anything from her address. I can though send her mail on me.com, and i can also send and receive me.com mail from her mac. I have no idea what is going on. HEELLPP!!

Are you sure it's a .Mac address, or is it a MobileMe address?

Are you trying to send mail to that address from a different address, or from her own address?
What are the specific settings for the account (Incoming and Outgoing servers, port numbers for each, authentication method, and SSL status)?

Mac Mail and Outlook 2007

Hi,
Perhaps this has been asked and answered already, but I browsed the forums and couldn't find the answer so my apologies if I missed it.
I recently purchased a PC with Windows 7. I opened up Outlook 2007 and configured my email by typing in my mac mail address and password. I figured that it would just duplicate my email in my mac mail. However, it took all my mac mail and moved it to outlook on my new PC.
I prefer mac mail as I have it sent directly to my iphone for convenience, but I don't mind using Outlook as well.
First of all: Is there a way to get all my mail back to my macbook?
Second: Is there a way I can have the best of both worlds and have Outlook 2007 and Mac Mail sync together?

Problem wit auto response on my .mac mail -- keeps sending.

I set up an auto response for my mac mail address. I then sent myself an email to see if the auto response was working. It works, except it works like spam. It just automatically kept sending me email after email after email, up to 20 of them. So I closed out my email on my computers, then reopened, and they started auto sending again.
I've been having an issue with mail doing this. I had an app on iPhone and then deleted the app. I kept getting automatic mail sent to me that was like I sent an email to THEM, except I never did. I would get up to 250 emails as fast as they could be sent BING BING BING BING.
Happens anywhere I get .mac and .me mail.
Anyone know why the auto responder went whacko? LOL

So, if I'm understanding correctly, you're not currently having this problem, but did before you set up iCloud? Or is your old MobileMe auto-responder still functioning, but not showing up in iCloud in Mail's rules or vacation message settings? If the latter, you'll need to contact Apple about that, so they can fix it on their end.
I don't remember how it worked in MobileMe, but in iCloud, you can set up some very basic rules and there is a separate setting for a vacation message. An auto-responder provided by the server like that ought to be okay-ish. It shouldn't create mail loops, since the people who wrote the code for it know their stuff when it comes to e-mail protocols. However, if you used a rule that you created yourself (which doesn't look possible on iCloud, as there's not a "reply" action), that could cause mail loops.
Of course, even the best auto-responder is only okay-ish, because there are going to be messages that you get that you wouldn't want it to reply to, but it's going to anyway. Like spam that didn't get caught by spam filters.
As to the forums, I'd guess this would be best posted in one of the iCloud forums, probably the iCloud on my Mac forum. I can ask the hosts to move this topic there, but in the future, what you want to do is go to the home page and scroll down to the list of "communities" (ie, forums) and select one first.

Mac Mail/thunderbird - not receiving gmail from just one user

I have an important correspondence with a particular person who uses gmail. All of a sudden, none of his emails are being received by my Mac Mail on my domestic and work Macs and also on a RDC PC server using Thunderbird account set up identically. Yet, I am receiving all my usual other correspondence (I think!). He is now copying all correspondence to both my Mac Mail address and a separate gmail account address. I receive all his correspondence on gmail. I have not found his e-mails in my Junk box. Nor are they present when I search for his name. I wonder if there is some setting he has to change on his gmail, or if there is something weird about the filters for both Mac Mail and Thunderbird that are screening out his e-mails, but permitting them on gmail. I have tried to use my Mac Mail for all important professional correspondence and gmail just for commercial transactions and hence I habitually only screen Mac Mail. Please could you help me troubleshoot this. I assume it must have something to do with his gmails and not anything particularly specific with Mac Mail - but there may be a filter setting I need to change.
