.Mac mail aliases from iPhone

Have been searching about this, but could not find the answer. Does anyone know how (or if it is possible) to use .Mac aliases when sending mails from iPhone?
Thanks.
SCBZK

Thanks. Did help. Though, after trying number of days with this, it is getting annoying to receive copies of all mails addressed to any of my .Mac account, into every alias I have made on my iPhone...
Maybe, I must wait until Apple does something about this.
BTW, already submitted a request to Apple, fyi.

  • How do I delete Apple e-mail aliases from iOS 8?

I have e-mail aliases from iCloud stuck in my iPad/iPhone that I have already deleted in iCloud. I cannot see any way of deleting them in iOS 8.
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks.

I have no idea what "frozen" means.
Double clicking the contact or selecting the contact and clicking the Properties button opens the edit dialog box just like a right click does. You can do those on a Mac.
Selecting the contact and pressing the Delete button on your keyboard will delete the contact after confirming the dialog box.

  • Mssgs addressed to .Mac Mail aliases

Does anyone know why mail addressed to my .Mac Mail aliases does not get delivered to my iLife '05 Mail on my computer? The mail addressed to my aliases is delivered only to my .Mac Mail on the internet. I have the aliases set up in Mail/Preferences/Accounts of my iLife Mail on my computer. I read in the discussion posts that I cannot send mail from these alias accounts with iLife '05--can't I receive mail either???

    You're welcome.
Will email addressed to a .mac alias be delivered to the
Mail Application as well as the .mac Mail Account on the web?
    Yes they should.
I set up the aliases in the Mail Application at Mail>Preferences>Accounts.
Did you set up the aliases per the instructions included in this link?

  • Converting Mac Mail Accounts from POP to IMAP?

I'm just discovering IMAP for keeping my email synced. Is it possible to convert my 5 Mac Mail accounts from POP to IMAP or do I really have to start 5 new accounts & then deal with importing all that email to the new ones somehow? I've tried experimenting with changing the incoming mail server manually form pop.gmail.com to imap.gmail.com to no avail. Any suggestions/instructs are appreciated. Also, seems that, at least for gmail, the recommended Apple Mail client pref settings aren't current with Mail 3.5. Any guide to where mailbox behaviors should be set to work correctly for gmail & other mail servers (I'm using gmail, comcast, godddy and a private mail server) would be great!

first you have to make sure that the email providers for those accounts offer IMAP. if they don't you can't do anything. gmail does as you mentioned but most email providers only offer one type of access. if an email provider supports IMAP then you have to create a new account for IMAP for the email address. there is no way to change the type of an existing account. once you do set it up it will sync with the server so if your mail was kept on server (that's the default for gmail POP I think) you don't have to do anything. It will sync automatically. If you remove POP mail from server (default for most POP providers) then you'll have to move your messages from the existing local POP mailbox to the imap mailbox. It will sync with the server and upload all those emails back to the server. That might take a long time and a lot of bandwidth if you have a lot of stuff so it's up to you if you want to do this. You can simply move that mail to a local mailbox in "on my mac" section. after your imap account is set and has all the mail you need, you can delete the POP account.
Lastly see this link for gmail imap setup (also check out the link to recommended client settings)

  • Mail on Mac Pro not downloading mail sent from iPhone

    Hi.
I have a gmail account set up on my Mac Pro and have just added the same account to my 3G iPhone. It all works fine except any mail I send from the iPhone doesn't appear on the Mac Pro. In Safari everything shows up on gmail. A copy of the mail sent from the iPhone even ends up in the sent mail folder, but nothing on the Mac Pro.
    Any ideas?

  • Can I somehow copy mail attachment from iPhone to Mac?

    Hello.
I would like to use my iBook in work (Im really really tired with PCs). Problem is, that all files I use are on PCs. I cannot connect directly to our work network, nor I can use internet connection here.
I can either use flash disc to move files. But I have other prefered way in mind. I would like to send files from my work PC by mail to my iPhone (thats the easy part using Edge) and then get these files to Mac (not through internet). Is there a way to do it? Through wifi network connection, blue tooth, cable connection? I didnt actually tested it yet, but I dont think Mail in iPhone would for example easily synchronize with Mail in iBook just by connecting iPhone to iBook with cable.
    Any advices? Thanks.

Maybe I should more specify what Im talking about:
I need to move files from PC to Mac and back, so I can distribute them through internal network. I cannot connect to PC with Mac (admin doesnt allow that), my Mac doesnt have internet connection here. I can use the flash drive for file moving, but Im looking for something more sophisticated (if its possible).
I would love to use Mac/PC soft Dropbox, but I cant install anything on my PC (admin doesnt allow that). So I was hoping that:
    1) I could send/recive files via mail and get them through iPhone - PC Outlook -> iPhone Mail -> Mac and Mac -> iPhone Mail -> PC (using wifi connection between Mac and iPhone, cable, blue tooth, whatever) or
    2) I could somehow use iPhone with its Edge connection as a modem for iBook (which would be totally best, because I could also use "slow" edge connection ,with my unlimited data plan, for web browsing etc.

  • Need reference/tutorial about iDisk (especially .Mac mail) access by iPhone

    Greetings,
I have started getting quite interested in using my .Mac subscription, especially the iDisk online storage capabilities while being on the road with my MBP.
HOWEVER, I am also intrigued with accessing iDisk and .Mac Mail from my iPhone.
    1. That's where I am having problem number one: seems that i cannot use my iPhone to access anything I put into iDisk's folders from my MBP. I put files into iDisk on my desktop, check if same files are on iDisk by reaching .Mac online, but I do not see anything on my iPhone while accessing iDisk from it. I do see the same iDisk folders as i see on my desktop Documents, etc..), but with no data inside.
My .Mac WebGallery/Albums work well from my iPhone.
    2. Similar problem with Mail. Everything is OK - send receive - as far as .Mac Mail goes, if reached from my laptop. Not so with the iPhone: even though I can send/receive from .Mac Mail from my iPhone, and I do see .Mac Mail's mail boxes, and message insides, I cannot access attachments that i might have sent from Mail on my MBP or from .Mac Mail from my MBP.
I hope this is not too complicated a request for assistance: I have done well so far with most of the iPhone amzingly well integrated capabilities, but I am stumped here re: iPhone access to .Mac's Mail and iDisk.
    Thanks in advance!
    Roger T

Thanks, Zerimar. Indeed, somewhat useless. Not a big deal, but the rest of the interface between my MBP and the iPhone, as well as the iPhone design itself, are quite wonderful. I keep trying to detect some inadequacies in that interface. Not too many!
Seems that Apple designed the iPhone to purposefully limit its online capabilities (security issues, or prevention of unnecessary troubleshooting issues, just like in the case on unlocking phones!)

  • .Mac account delete from  iPhone doesn't remove from .Mac ?

When I remove an email from the iPhone and do a send and receive it doesn't update the .Mac account that the email has been deleted ? Anyone else suffering this may not just be related to .Mac email ??
    Pete

    pete_franks,
Is the Mac accessing the .Mac account as a IMAP account?
If accessing it as POP3 then items won't update.
I personally use my .Mac account on 2 Macs, 1 Windows-based PC, .Mac webmail, and the iPhone, and items do get marked as pending deletion.
Are you using Mail.app on the Mac to access the .Mac account? If so you may have it set to show messages that are pending deletion, but haven't been purged from the .Mac mailbox. Pending deletion is a feature of .Mac to prevent accidentally deleting messages. For example if you are going along deleting items on your home computer, and delete a business document you need. With the "pending deletion" status, it is possible to recover that message at work, or through the Trash can on the iPhone. There are two possible ways to resolve this:
First option is to set Mail.app to store Trash on the server. In which case it will show messages that are pending deletion in the Trash. This is similar to how the iPhone treats pending deletion messages.
Second option is to go to the View menu, and choose "Hide Deleted Messages".
If you are using Entourage, and accessing your .Mac account with IMAP. There is an option to hide deleted messages in preferences, otherwise they will show up with a line through them.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • How do I replicate the folders I have in Mac Mail on my iPhone?

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere on the forum - I have searched but couldn't find what I was looking for.
This should be a simple fix, but I can't work it out... All I want to do is have exactly the same Mail folders on my iPhone as I have on my desktop Mail. I'm syncing via MobileMe.
    In Mac Mail I have:
    Inbox
    Sent
    Trash
    Junk
    Action
    Filed
    Later
Whereas, on my iPhone, I have:
    Inbox
    Drafts
    Sent
    Trash
    Action
    Apple Mail To Do
    Deleted Messages
    Drafts
    Filed
    Junk
    Junk (me.com)
    Later
    Sent Messages
All I want to do is tidy the above so that my iPhone Mail only displays the folders I have in Mac Mail. If anyone can talk me through this, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks roaminggnome... but there are a lot more folders on my iPhone than there are on MobileMe and I'm still not sure why or where they came from.
Here's a question which might help clarify what the problem is. Why are there two Sent folders on my iPhone ("Sent" and "Sent Messages")? Why are there two Trash folders ("Trash" and "Deleted Messages")? Why are there two Junk folders ("Junk" and "Junk (me.com)")? Is there any way to conflate these folders so that only one folder performs each function?
I only have one Mail account, so why would I want two folders each containing (say) sent messages? I'd rather have all my sent messages in one place.... it would make like much simpler!
I hope that makes sense. Thanks for your patience in helping me with this - I'm sure I'm just overlooking something very obvious.

  • Mountain Lion / Mac mail disconnects from MS Exchange server.

We use an MS Exchange account for our company email. We bought 2 new retina display MacBook Pros running Mountain Lion last Fall. My old laptop is still running Lion. Lion / Mac Mail works fine on the old laptop, never losing contact with the MS Exchange server. Mountain Lion / Mac Mail randomly loses contact with our exchange server on a regular basis. This results in a slow and painful re-download of 2 years worth of email while I have to resort to my old laptop to keep up with new incoming email. I check these discussions occasionally when I can find a spare moment and I have found some similar symptoms being complained about, but no solutions yet. There have been a couple of OS updates since we bought the new laptops, but alas, no mention of this problem. It seems no one is doing anything about it. Have I missed a post? Anyone have any suggestions? This is getting really old.
    Thanks!
    D

I was having the same issue! I finally found a solution to it!
    1. Delete your exchange account from the Mail, Contacts & Calendars pane in System Preferences.
    2. Go to Finder, click "Go" in the menu bar, click "Go to Folder" and type in "~/Library" (without the quotes) in the box. This will take you to your user Library folder.
    3. Use the search box in the finder and type in "com.apple.notes" and click "Library" in the search bar that appears. This should now find several folders and files related to the Notes app. Rename or delete everything except the help files (with the lifesaver icons on them). Just to be safe, I'll list the files and folders you should delete or rename and their directory paths:
    com.apple.Notes - /Users/danieloria/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/
    com.apple.Notes - /Users/danieloria/Library/Containers
    com.apple.Notes.plist - /Users/danieloria/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Preferences
    com.apple.Notes.savedState - /Users/danieloria/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Saved
    4. Restart your Mac. Put your exchange account back into System Preferences, you can go ahead and activate the Notes sync service.
    5. Open Notes and it should be working now!
NOTE: I also deleted all the stored information related to the exchange account in Keychain Access when I deleted the 4 com.apple files. This may or may not be necessary, but I just thought it was worth mentioning.

  • Mac mail import from excel email list

Using leopard on new imac. Could someone please give me some advice for importing to mac mail. I purchased 2000 email leads which was emailed to me in excel format. I can open in numbers fine and looks great. My problem is I need to import these leads to mac mailß, with email, name, address, phone, etc. and haven't found a way to do this. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance. Gary

Try importing them into the address book, this is where mail gets it's email addresses from. There is an option to import a text file. Just back up the address book before you import them since this could create a problem since it's dependent on file headers. i've never tried this before so I'm going out on a whim but the help files in the address book says that it supports importing of csv and tab deliminated files. I would not use the text file if it's been saved from numbers. Use the exact file that was sent to you by the company you purchased the contacts from. Good luck!
