  • Mac Mail Template Not Sending Correctly - Yosemite

    Hi, folks,
Upgraded to 10.10.1 on a Mac Pro Tower a month or so ago. When I use one of the few Mac Mail templates to send emails to a group, the artwork embedded in the template, and the text are separating, so the art ends up on the bottom of the email, under the text.
I am using AOL as my mail provider, through Verizon Fios ISP.  Below is an example, showing the bottom of the mail message as I received it. The Mac template includes a blue background, and a trophy icon - they are supposed to be at the top of the email. After I enter a headline (which I made into a smaller font point size) and entered my body copy (which I recolored from light gray to black) I sent the email to many users, including myself. When I open the email, the headline appears at the top, then the body copy, but the trophy artwork which should be at the very top has been pushed to the bottom, separated from the blue background of the template.
Also, as an aside, does someone know where there are other good-quality Mail templates that can be added to Apple's minuscule selection?

Me too, very frustrsting. In addition, a few days before this happened, these same clients received emails from me from a gmail server based email address than I don't ever use for business. I think this started the day after I got the icloud email. Coincidence or not?
    So:
    1. I sent an email from email address 1 (definitely address 1) but the client received it from email address 2!
    2. When I spotted the replies from the clients, I checked and no matter what I did, the system overrode the sending email to be email 2.
    3. A few days later, all the clients I'd been having issues with, are having the same server message when sending as Sam. Very frustrating and wasting huge amounts of my time. What's gong on and what do I need to do about it? I've already deleted the gmail address and re-set it up which sorted the problem yesterday but it's back again today.

  • Mac Mail application not sending

I recently upgraded to Lion and can now not send emails through my mac mail application. I've tried every single option that people have written about on here and nothing works. It might work for a day but then the following day, it stops working. Wow Lion is great....NOT. PLEASE if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks for your help.

What happens when you try? Do you get an error? What kind of email account and who is your provider?
Most importantly, what does the Connection Doctor (found in the Window menu) say?

  • .Mac Mail account not sending properly

I have a G4 PowerBook and recently have had a lot of problems with sending emails through my .Mac account. If I forward the same email right after the original email, whomever I am sending the email to will receive the forwarded email but not the original. My original emails seem to go through whenever they want or not at all, mostly not at all.
Can anyone help me with this or is anyone else having the same problems as I am having.
      Mac OS X (10.3.9)
      Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I can only confirm that other users have recently reported having similar (and other) issues with .Mac mail. I don't know what can you do about it other than reporting the problem to .Mac email "support".

  • My mac mail is not sending certain groups when I drag the list over from address book. It is also sending to addresses in older groups I have deleted frm the group!

    Thoughts?

One thing to try would be to clean up the previous recipients list in Mail > Window > Previous Recipients

  • Mail will not send out mail... but I can recieve?

Hey guys, well yesterday my mac mail would not send out any mail, and still won't this morning. I am using AOL mail through the Mac mail program. I have been using it forever and never had a problem.
It is telling me "cannot send message using the server smtp.aol.com:(myusername). Sending the message content to the server failed. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click try later."
I have 3 email accounts I use through mac mail and all 3 are not working. To send mail I have to sign into aol and it stinks. Can anyone help me to figure out why this just quit working?
    Thanks

ISPs often change things on a whim; they aren't known for being the most communicative bunch of people. But if you're sure you have your Mail settings entered correctly for your AOL account:
Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com or imap.aim.com (if using IMAP)
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.aol.com
In the Account name: box, type your AOL® or AIM® screen name.
In the Password: box, type your AOL® or AIM® password.
and it still doesn't work, I'd call your ISP and see what's going on; they can determine whether or not you're able to get outside their network.

    Sorry for the delay...
I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.
    Thanks for the help, anyway!!

  • Mail does not send email

My problem is simply that Mail does not send email.
I have just migrated from iMac G5 to iMac Intel by using Migration Assistant. Everything else works just fine and I can receive email. However, if I try to reply, forward or send a new email message, Mail just does not do anything - no error message, nothing.
The fixes I have tried so far are removing the Mail plist file, repairing disk permissions and mailboxes. Of course, I have checked the account settings, especially outgoing server settings. I also reinstalled Mail application with Pacifist. None of this has solved the problem. I have tried sending email with Thunderbird and it works with no problems.
Does anybody have any suggestions how to fix this issue?
The OS is 10.4.8, Mail Version 2.0.6 (749.2/752.3), all the suggested software updates done.
    iMac Core Duo 20" 2GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Reinstalling Mail is rarely necessary or appropriate to solve a problem. It certainly cannot fix anything that could be wrong within your home folder or at the server or with the network, and may even introduce new issues if not done properly. Moreover, in Mac OS X 10.4 you don’t need Pacifist to reinstall Mail, you could also do it as described in the following article:
Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, if the version of the system software on your install disks is earlier than what you’re using now (and only in that case), then you must also reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, to bring Mail back in sync with the rest of the system:
About the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for PPC
Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update for Intel
The above won’t solve the problem. It’s just to ensure that you’ve properly reinstalled Mail, which you shouldn’t have done, and which apparently you didn’t do properly -- the version of Mail on your system should be 2.1.1, not 2.0.6.
The original problem could be caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services -- the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
    Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, this other article provides links to some utilities that can be used for troubleshooting and cache cleaning:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
    4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you wish.
    5. Click the Execute button.
    6. Restart the computer.

Re: Macbook Pro 10.6.8 RAM Upgarde to 8 GB
The amount of RAM is not dependant on the operating system. It is all about the model of you Mac.
10.6.8 is the version of OS X that is installed on your system. It has no real baring on the amount of RAM that CAN be installed.
Personally I have never had good luck with Corsair RAM. I have always had good luck with Crucial and Kingston.

    Hi,
It may pay to send a Screen Shot of the Connection Doctor info.  (see the Window Menu)
It would seem the IMAP or POP side is logged in bit the out going STMP server is not.

  • Mail will not send

Hi, I've had my iMac some time now but have only just set up the 'mail' option. I have definitely put in all of the correct details for all of my email accounts. I am able to receive email but it just will not send out any emails - from any of my 5 email accounts!
When I check the mail connection all is green (except for one of the outgoing servers for one particular email account). So why will it not send from the other outgoing server when it is green?! I use an iPhone and an iPad and my mail on those is fine (using exactly the same settings).
I have updated the software (as recommended by Apple for this particular problem) but it has made no difference. Every time I try to send it says 'Mail will not send with server...'
It's driving me crazy! Please help! Thanks.

This may not help, but a few months ago I was trying to send a message to members of my professional organization, but kept getting a similar message. I exchanged correspondence with Tech Help at my server to no avail. I thought the problem might have to do with the quantity of receoients, so I started deleting a few at a time from the list and resending. All of a sudden, it worked!
I finally narrowed it down to one address that had been preventing the message from going out. After I deleted and exactly retyped the address, I never had another problem. Never understood what had happened.

  • Mail will not send or receive. It intermittently stops working. Why?

Mail will not send or receive. It intermittently stops working. Why?

I had problems with sending emails from one server in particular, however, I would ask if you have gone to the page of your server and found specific instructions for configuring your mail. My iMAC would not send out emails, so I went to my (Italian) server's page and solved the problem.
It was not sufficient to let the MAC wizard connect you up with your server, and, indeed, MAIL invited me to consider installing the server's email manually. So doing, my problem was solved.
Your server's page should have a list of email programs (cf Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) , with instructions as to how to configure them. Look for the item referring to Macintosh Mail, keep it in background in order to go back to it as you configure your mail.
My problem was that I could not convince Mail to accept the out connection, but when I eliminated my server entirely in Mail's Preferences, I added that server once again: Mail told me that it could not safely transfer my password and asked me if I wanted to set up the site manually. I clicked on manual, and found very precise specifications as to the number of the port to be used, then instructions on how to find the menu for the out mail, with a particular number I had to insert in the drop-down menu they specified.
It was not as complicated as it sounds here, but requires patience.

  • TS3276 Mac Mail won't send emails with signatures

My Mac Mail won't send emails with signatures. I get the "whoosh" sound and they show in sent mail, but the recipient doesn't receive them until I take off the signature and resend the email. Without a signature, it is received. It never used to be a problem, but started this past month. Please advise!

Did Earthlink have you try using their authenticated SMTP server?
If not, try changing Earthlink's SMTP server settings to the following:
    SMTP Server: smtpauth.earthlink.net
Server Port: 25 or 587. Assuming Earthlink is your ISP, 25 should work.
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Off or not selected.
Authentication Type: MD5 Challenge-Response. Not sure if this authentication type is available with 10.2 and if not, select Password.
User Name: Your entire Earthlink email address.
Password: The password for your Earthlink email account - the same password used to check the incoming mail server for new messages.
