Mac Mail not fetching New messages 10.9.4
This is on a MacBook Air (mid-2011) using OS 10.9.4 and for the past 6 days the Mail program has stopped fetching new mail. The messages come thru on my phone but I have to restart the computer, check the connection doctor, restart a few more times & then finally the mail will start coming through again on the computer. The log is consistently showing these errors:
1 +[MFLibrary addMessages:withMailbox:fetchBodies:oldMessagesByNewMessage:error:] + 37 (Mail) [0x7fff8cad7fb9]
1 +[MFLibrary addMessages:withMailbox:fetchBodies:isInitialImport:oldMessagesByNewMessage:err or:] + 82 (Mail) [0x7fff8cad7f8e]

Any clue on what the problem is or how to fix???
Thank you,

Mac Mail: Check for new messages doesn't work
Hi,
In Mac Mail the setting at "Preferences -> Check For New Messages" I have set for manual and yet Mail still fetches emails when I haven't asked it too. I previously had this setting set to check for messages every hour but it ignored that setting too so I set it to manual but this setting is ignored. Ideally I'd like to check mail every four hours but there isn't a setting for that.
I'm running Lion and have IMAP email accounts.
Any idea how I can get Mac Mail not to ignore my Check For New Messages setting?
Thanks! Thanks for the link. Well I never would have found that out without some help. I saw the IDLE in the IMAP settings I didn't know it was a kind of PUSH / FETCH thing. Anyway I've got it on manual now and only seems to get emails when I send one or press the button. I've only changed it a little while ago so I hope this is actually fixed.
Thanks again it was driving me nuts! -
Mail not fetching new data every 15 with 3g turned off
I had to turn 3g off in order to improve my reception and battery life. It seems to help somewhat, however I notice that the Mail application does not fetch new mail every 15 minutes like its setup to do. It works fine in 3g mode, just doesnt do it while its on edge. (I think it also works ok on wifi.)
Perhaps your in an area with awesome 3g reception but really bad Edge. Weird huh.

Mac Mail Not Receiving New Mail from Exchange
Hey everyone, in the last few days, I've noticed that my Mac Mail isn't downloading new messages from my company's exchange server.
I can log into the web-based exchange server and see new messages sitting there, unread. If I quit Mail and re-open it, it fixes the problem, but taking all of the accounts offline and bringing them back online does not fix the problem.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? I'm thinking some cache might be full or something.
Thanks in advanceSame problems here. Glad I'm not the only one.
After looking at the Activity window, this is what it displays:
http://screencast.com/t/NWU4N2Q5M
The Connection Doctor just says that all accounts were able to log in successfully, so no help there.
After clicking on the Stop Sign icon beside the stuff in the activity window (which effectively "stops" that task it's beside), I can then right click and "synchronize" my Exchange account and it receives all messages immediately, including the inbox. It's a work around, but I'm not sure that just command+Q and reopen wouldn't be easier.
It appears that a receive action just freezes up, which is why a resync before you kill the first sync doesn't fix it and a quit+restart does. As a side note, I can send messages through Exchange just fine when this receive lockup occurs.
Apple, please look into this...you have a better mail client than M$, but at least theirs stays connected. -
As of about 4 days ago my Mail app is not displaying new e-mails. It says '19 incoming messages' but they never appear. I have tried:
- Replacing mail.plist with older version from time machine
- Rebuilding mailboxes
- Asking my web hosts if there is any problem their end - no problems there.
- Checked the 'get account info' box which displays the 19 messages with 'unknown sender' still on the server.
Any other ideas anyone?Hello jimjazzuk,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with email on your MacBook Pro. You have already taken some good steps to isolate the issue to your MacBook Pro. I recommend following the steps in the following article to continue isolating and troubleshooting the issue you are experiencing with Mail:

TS3276 Mail not receiving new messages
I just purchased my MacBook Air 13 in last week. Love it, but I am having a problem with Mail. I use Google mail for my work, and it sends fine. It also comes through fine some of the time, but after a time, it stops receiving new messages. I notice, as I continue to get them on my phone. Once I 'exit mail' and then reopen, they all suddenly come through.
Any idea what I can do to fix this?Same issue. Not found a fix other than restarting mail.

Problem with Mail not showing new messages

Mac mail not saving sent messages
I am using IMAP for my mac mail (since I work on several computers). I am on OSX 10.4.11 and mail 2.1.2.
The problem: None of my messages are being stored in the sent folder, even though in preferences it is enabled to do so. Also, when I hold my cursor over the sent folder a pop up message appears that reads "content stored on server. Name of server = INBOX/SENT". And yet, there are no messages on the server. I even looked through my control panel on my web host just to make sure.
Not being able to have a copy of sent messages makes mac mail virtually useless - I can't bcc myself on everything! I'm feeling desperate - anyone out there have any suggestions?click the SENT folder on the server.. then go to MAILBOX > USE THIS MAIL BOX FOR SENT

Mac mail not refreshing new mail
Hey
Is anyone else having problems with mail not updating when new ones arrive? I have to hit "get mail" even though I have the preferences set to check for new mail every 5mins. I am running mail 2.1.1.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks!Hi G Money.
Go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced. Is Include when automatically checking for new mail ON or OFF?
BTW, please put the right information in the Computer Model and Operating System fields on your My Settings’s profile (and click Save), so that this essential information automatically appears in all your posts — you cannot be running Mac OS X 10.4.1 if the version of Mail is 2.1.1. -
Mac mail not syncing deleted messages with iPad email?
I'm very frustrated with the mail sync between my MacBook and my iPad. My Microsoft Exchange (@student.uml.edu) email for school will NOT sync between my Mac and my iPad.
When I delete mail from from Mac mail, it does not delete on my iPad. This has led me to have 3 read emails in my inbox on my MacBook and 45 emails on my iPad. I can't imagine having to keep track of deleting emails from my laptop then again on my iPad thats just silly.
Am I doing something wrong here? Help!I have the same problem in the opposite direction - I can delete things on my iPad but they don't delete on my MacBook and Mail won't let me delete them. My problem is also with an educational Exchange account. Other accounts sync without problems.

Mac Mail Not Showing New Emails on Inbox
Hello all,
So I have recently reindexed my Mail application because all of the emails that have been unflagged were still docking in my Flagged folder. I searched up some similar queries on Apple forum and someone suggested to delete the Envelope files under MailData. I did this and it works perfectly.
However, after doing this action, new emails (to my Gmail account) wouldn't appear on my inbox. Here is what happens instead:
- New emails arrived, flash notification appears on the top right handside of my Mac
- Inbox folder still empty, Important folder count is up
- Checked Important folder, still couldn't find the new emails
I have 3 inboxes on my Mail, 2 Gmails and 1 Yahoo. The problem only happens to the Gmail accounts. Yahoo account works perfectly fine. I didn't change any settings from Gmail account in the past ~5-9 months.
Anyone have a clue what goes wrong here?any luck with your problem TSG?

Mac Mail not downloading emails
Hello. My mac mail is not working. It appears to be an issue with the Exchange 2007 server. The only way I can access my emails is via Thunderbird (which stinks). Neither Mac Mail nor Outlook will download my emails.
Connection Doctor status: Mail was able to connect to the internet.
I see that this is a common problem for many other folks. Has this issue ever been solved? I have spent a considerable amount of time on forums, talking to Apple Support, and Google searching -- no luck finding a solution. Its very frustrating -- I am using Thunderbird to get me by for now. I have a new Mac, Lion 10.7.4.

It appears that my Mail 5.3 won't automatically fetch new messages from my companies Exchange server. After I take the account offline and immediatley online, new messages appear that I have missed. (They did in fact appear on my iPhone, but not in Mail)
Is this is common issue? Or am I doing something wrong?Ya...got the same problem. - Not only that but messages sent through Yahoo are not decoded properly in 64bit, UTF-8...I just get hundreds of line of code and jpeg images are not shown - what is going on?

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
