Mac mail not showing jpg attachments after yosemite install
I use Mac Mail and have recently upgraded to Yosemite.
Since upgrading I can no longer view jpg images sent by email from my security camera system. They used to be shown within the message, but since the upgrade to Yosemite they're not shown in the message anymore (well, they are shown in about 1% of messages), even the attachment won't open after saving to desktop.
When I try opening the attachment after I have saved it, it says it may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize.
I can view these images when using outlook on my mac, but preferred the Mail app, as it was easier to view the images in Mail.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I have the exact same issue.

I wonder if it has something to do with the file name

I have no issues viewing the images on my iPhone or iPad

Mac mail not showing in Mavericks
Ever since I have upgraded to Mavericks my Mac Mail isn't showing the content of my emails in Mac mail. I am receiving new emails, but it is just not displaying the content. Just a bunch of blank pages basically. Anyone else experiencing this, and if so has anyone discovered something that works?
So after reading through some of the other posts from other users on Mail issues with Maverick I figured it out.
Mailbox>Rebuild Mailbox
This fixed it for me. -
Mac Mail not showing all folders
I am using my @icloud email account and I only see the Inbox and Sent mail folders in Mac Mail. I am not seeing Junk, Trash, Notes, etc.. If I look in Library/Mail/V2/<account> I can see all these folders listed. If I delete an email via Mac Mail I can see it appear on iCloud.com in the "Trash" folder so the mappings are all correct. How can I display them in the Mac mail application?
It could be that the sidebar that shows the additional folders isn't showing at all, so you're only seeing the top bar with a few shortcuts. Does it look like this:
If it does, do this:
By clicking 'Mailboxes' you'll get the sidebar back. This can also be done by clicking View > Show Sidebar

Share in Safari shows No Services after Yosemite install?
I am unable to use the Share feature in Safari like I did before the Yosemite install. Under File and on the Task bar it is showing No Services. I checked every setting under Safari preferences and also System Preferences, no luck. Any suggestions? My friend has updated to Yosemite of his 2 laptops and does not have this issue. I am using a iMac (mid 2011)
To Restore Share Options
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Terminal > Copy and paste in the following:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchS ervices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -seed
> Press Return > Close Terminal App.
Hope that helps,

Mac Mail Not Showing New Emails on Inbox
Hello all,
So I have recently reindexed my Mail application because all of the emails that have been unflagged were still docking in my Flagged folder. I searched up some similar queries on Apple forum and someone suggested to delete the Envelope files under MailData. I did this and it works perfectly.
However, after doing this action, new emails (to my Gmail account) wouldn't appear on my inbox. Here is what happens instead:
- New emails arrived, flash notification appears on the top right handside of my Mac
- Inbox folder still empty, Important folder count is up
- Checked Important folder, still couldn't find the new emails
I have 3 inboxes on my Mail, 2 Gmails and 1 Yahoo. The problem only happens to the Gmail accounts. Yahoo account works perfectly fine. I didn't change any settings from Gmail account in the past ~5-9 months.
Anyone have a clue what goes wrong here?any luck with your problem TSG?

BlackBerry Z10 - voice mails not showing on Hub after software update
I have a BlackBerry Z10 smartphone with Verizon and yesterday I upgraded to the 1.0.4.1 version. Now my voice mails are gone from the Hub and I don't even get notifications whenever somebody leaves me a voice mail. I called Verizon and they were not able to help. Is anybody having this same issue? Can somebody help? Thanks in advance.
Solved!
Go to Solution.I had the same problem as you - including the missing voicemail option to add to the hub. No amount of battery pulls or re-starts helped. Here is what worked for me: Go to Setup and activate Visual Voicemail. Agree to the $2.99 monthly fee. Wait 5 minutes as directed and then call yourself and leave a voicemail or two. You will notice the Visual Voicemail icon (and message indicator) now appears in the Hub. Go back to Setup and deactivate Visual Voicemail. Your regular voicemail, and test messages, should now remain. Not sure if you/I will get charged the $2.99 for 10 minutes worth of Visual Voicemail but it will be worth it to get the regular voicemail back. Hope this helps. Post back with your results.

Files not visible in Finder after Yosemite install
I have installed Yosemite. I now cannot see any of my files including applications, in Finder. I also cannot get Dropbox to start.
I run a macbook pro 15" late 2011. Used for work so need to get this fixed pretty quick.
Anyone got any suggestions?Hi Paul...You probably have to reinstall Flip4Mac. It is the Quicktime plugin that handles wmv content.

ICal Events on my mac not showing in reminders after upgrading to mountain lion
after upgrading to mountin lion, all calenders on my mac are not showing in the reminders app, only calenders on icloud. The irony is all calenders created on my mac have been reclassified on iCloud. This was done automatically during the last upgrade and I chose to have my calenders on iCloud, so now they are listed twice in the iCal, however, there seems to be a difference between entries. For instance if I turn off the work calender on my mac, different things are removed than if I turn of the work calender on iCloud - i don't understand how or why this happens. In Reminders those very same calenders that are listed as iCloud on the iCal are listed as "on my mac" in the Reminder app and do not show anything. The only calenders on the Reminders app that appear under "iCloud" are the ones that I created on my iPhone. All these calenders are showing the correct entries.
SO far not terribly impressed with Mountian Lion. I am also annoyed that it seems that I can no longer view all my entries from calender tasks at the same time like I used to be able to with Lion. This was very useful. It is now terribly inconvenient to have to check each calender and list in turn (I have nine) to be reminded, unlike in Lion with the list just to the side of iCal.
Any help with the above problem? In the mailbox panel move your cursor slowly down the right hand side . Should reveal show and hide.

Un-install according to the developer's un-install instructions.
You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.
CleanMyMac - Uninstall
CleanMyMac2 Un-install
After un-installing, run this program to make sure you got all the pieces.
EasyFind – Spotlight Replacement
Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Address book of my mac does not show all my contacts in iphone. What do i do??
iCloud, which replaced MobileMe, requires OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. You will need to upgrade to OS X Lion higher in order to set up iCloud on your Mac. First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Mountain Lion and Mavericks requirements are the same, as listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
If you can run Mavericks, you can download a free upgrade from the Mac App Store. If your system can only run Lion, you can go here to purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store. If you prefer Mountain Lion for software compatibility reasons, you can go here to purchase a redemption code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing applications by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table. Also be aware that older PPC programs such as AppleWorks and Office 2004 for Mac will not run on OS X Lion or higher. -
Mac Mail - IMAP setup - Large attachments are corrupt
Mac Mail - IMAP setup - Large attachments are corrupt
Attachments open fine in webmail
Mailbox rebuild does not help
Appears files over 500k are affected
Multiple users affected
Backend is GroupWise 7
So, I see several posts on this topic, with no solutions.... Is this a known issue according to Apple? If so, can some point me to the official release notes/ bug report??I have the same problem. When I look at the message with Entourage, I found out that while under IMAP the attachment is not fully downloaded from the exchange server. Entourage gives you the choice to download this file. When I select, the file comes down and opens OK. I heard that some clients have a max size download setting for IMAP but Mac Mail does not. Anyone know how to get around this?

My mac will not show images when on the internet?
My mac will not show images when on the internet? I think I have inadvertently changed some settings but nor sure which one.
I am going to assume you are using Safari here. If so then go to the Apple menu bar and hit Safari-> Preferences. Under the Apperance tab there is a check box that is called "Display images when the page opens". Check if that is unticked.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 for Mac does not show up in Applications. Tutorial for editing from iPhoto shows selecting the Adobe software in Applications. Am I missing a step in registering product?
I answered my own question: There's a difference between "download' and "install." Hunt for "install" (1.5 hrs in my case) and line up your passwords, Adobe ID, etc, then install. Took 15 min. The right choice shows up in Applications. Now it's on to figuring out why photo selected for edit in iPhoto does not show up on screen in Elements.
