Mac Mail sends email okay, does not receive
For a few days, I have been unable to receive email to my Inbox (using Mail to check yahoo via IMAP). I have been able to send just fine (as verified by logging in at yahoo.com). After reading other people's notes, I have tried several things, such as taking offline, then back online. It seems I only have the problem with my Inbox (it appears that I am getting bulk mail just fine), but I could not "rebuild" the Inbox (under "Mailbox") as it is greyed out. I have also tried deleting the folders in my Mail library and starting over. It is building up all the other mailboxes now, but not the Inbox.
What could cause just the Inbox to stop working (and receiving messages) and how can I fix? Thank you.

My Mac Mail no longer works (does not receive or send mail)
I have had my MacBook for maybe a year now, and I don't really use the mail often. The last time I was able to send and receive mail was back in October. Now it will no longer work.. I get a pop up that's always asking me to put in my mail password, but nothing happens. I even tried going to preference to change my password and it won't allow me.
When I try to send mail, the little paper plane icon is not clickable. Nothing happens. The only thing I can do is exit out of the message or save the draft. And I can not seem to get mail at all from anyone. I haven't touched any setting either, so I don't understand why it no longer works. My bank can no longer send me emails nor can my friends send me emails anymore.
Does anyone know how I can possibly fix this problem and get my email up and running again. Thanks in advance for all the advice.Sorry but I'm really not to sure what I have. I'm not good with knowing my computer model. All I know is that its a MacBook running with Leopard. I got my computer last year so I suppose its fairly new. Is there a place on my computer where I can check to see what it is (sorry to be so dumb with my own mac)
And everything else works fine. I love Safari. It's just my mail that doesn't work. Here's the message that pop up several times.
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password for user “akcastaldo”
Please re-enter your password, or cancel."
The only problem here is, even though I enter my password it doesn't do anything. It makes that message go away for about 3-5 mins. After that it pops right back up. And I can't even go into my preference and change my email password. So I don't know what to do. -

I've had my moto x for roughly 3 weeks. It worked perfectly fine until yesterday morning, when it stopped sending mms via the native messenger app. Frustrated, I restarted my phone, only to discover that now the entire native messenger app not longer functioned. I switched to hangouts which will send sms messages, but only occasionally sends mms and will not receive them. I'm not sure what is going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Please make sure you have installed the update to 3.0, which recently came out... MANY bug mixes.

N97mini email app does not receive and send emails
I have installed Nokia email app (build 10.2.0.26 (main)) onto my N97mini. I have setup it up to fetch emails from my gmail and yahoo mail accounts. I also added gadgets to my screen so that I can view incoming emails. It worked before. But now, it stops fetching emails. When I go options->tools->connection info, it always shows offline mode.
I use several wifi network between home and school. Other app like opera works fine. I can use opera to access my gmail. When I do options->Send/receive, nothing happen. The icon on the top of the email screen is always a circule with a slash. So it means offline mode. I suppose when I click Send/receive it should go online to check emails. But it does not. Very few times, it goes online and checks email by itself. But I have no idea what triggers that.
The setting is:
what to sync [Inbox] = sync enabled
when to sync [days] = 7 days; [hours] = on all day; [disable sync when] = battery at 15%; [Send and receive] = soonest;
Please advice what do I miss here?now my one account works perfectly without any additional changes, but my other one works not.
it shows that my password or username is wrong then i deleted it, created it new. after typing password and username 10 times right it worked. i got my emails and one minute later the same problem again...
i really do not understand the problem... i use the same preferences for the other account and it works, and everything worked untill yesterday. seems like it works if the iphone just wants to.
i am feeling like using windows
my provider is gmx. pop account information with my adress and name, server for incomming emails: hostname is pop.gmx.net username and password are correct.

Sending Email Tutorial Does Not Work
Has anyone been able to successfully complete the "Sending Email From a Web Application" tutorial?
I am able to Build and Deploy, but receive a "Class Not Found" error on deployment.

Mac mail sending messages to people not on distribution
When sending a reply to a mac mail message that originally had several people in the distribution the reply message will send to everyone in the distribution even if you manually take out an address from the message you are sending out.
In have a similar problem. I consistently request that names of all people on send list to NOT be shown to individual addressees, but consistenly are sent all the names. Can this be corrected?

The user name or password for "SMTP:[email protected]@smtpauth.earthlink.net" is incorrect.
However, I am able to receive email using that user name or password.
What is the problem..??please don't provide any personal data like emailaddresses, as this is a public forum, accessible to anyone.

Also: try adding a free gmail or hotmail account. If everything works in that account, I'd recommend you contact to email provider.

In mail when i send email it does not show curved arrow in sent column

in mail when i use the reply button the curved arrow in sent column appears intermittently.
prior to upgrading system from snow leopard (3 months ago) it worked normally.
after installing lion it continued to work normally but now it occurs constantly.
I have opened & quit Mail, restarted the mac several times using both shut down & restart commands, and unplugged the power cord from the mac.No changes have been made and no problem with extensions has interfered with the URL appearing in Firefox before. Only with the last few new versions of Firefox has this cropped up. Also, the link opens correctly - it just doesn't display the URL in the address bar, instead it just reads (in gray) "Search or enter address." How could another extension interfere if Firefox is the sole program associated with .htm, .html files?

My send email vi does not send the email out
I am trying to send an email notification and using labview's example vi to send. In the server response everything looks great. It also says "Queued mail for delivery", but I dont' get any email back.
I am sending the email to myself, and also tried sending to other people, but it just doesn;t work. Are there any issues with the server authenticity?Are you using the 'E-Mail Notification.vi' example? This example creates
a return address based on the server response. Can you try replacing
the generated return address with the email address you are sending to?
Don't know for certain whether that will make a difference with your
mail server. I think the servers we had trouble with were some flavor
of microsoft; they bounced messages from [unknown user]@[mailserver].

Big problem!
Just upgraded to Lion - and this problem was on Snow Leopard too - I tried to upgrade to sort this out!
Mail sends emails but does not recieve.
I own the server where it is trying to connect to - the emails are there - I can see them through webmail.
I have set up different email accounts on Mail and exactly the same for all domains and email accounts.
I have re-installed Mail - exactly the same happens.
I have used Thunderbird and it works!
So it has to be a Mail problem. Server is fine, OS is fine, other email is fine. Mail is the problem.
I think it has to do with keychain? Not sure though... I have tried literally hundreds of things but nothing works and I am at my wits end and run out of ideas!
Any suggestions would be warmly received!!

I have the same problem with my incoming mail. I talked to the folks at Frontier (my ISP). They verified that a
test message I had sent was received. All account info appeared to be ok. I click on "get mail" and I do not
receive any new incoming messages. All connections succeed Using Connection Doctor, although the connection to smtp.frontiernet.net spins quite awhile before succeeding.
While I was composing this reply, I decided to try to send a test message to my wife's account. It came
through ok. I think I might have to contact Frontier again on this. When I set her account up they gave me a
different Incoming Mail Server name to use: pop3.frontier.com, whereas mine is: pop3.frontiernet.net. I believe
new accounts are being assigned to: pop3.frontier.com.
Also, when I'm showing all inboxes, Mine all have a symbol after them that looks like a lazy z. I am not familiar
with this symbol, but since I'm having trouble, I suspect it is telling me something. Help on this?? -

One Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from .mac
OK, this is an odd problem, and any help would be appreciated.
My girlfriend's Yahoo! mail account does not receive email sent from my .mac address. If I send email from my Gmail or Yahoo! accounts she receives the message. No one else has informed me that they haven't received email from the .mac address. Additionally, the .mac account is in her address book.
Anyway, has anyone seen a similar pattern with Yahoo! or any other email provider?

However, I was hoping someone here might have had a similar experience and could answer as the email provider is Yahoo, and they are slow in responding to help requests . . . for a period I hosted a personal, paid website through Yahoo Domains and help tickets lingered for several days on multiple occasions (this being the reason the site is no longer hosted by Yahoo). I also doubt Yahoo will expend too much energy resolving a problem for a free email account.
Anyway, I posted in the Yahoo mail forums, and hopefully something will come-up . . . . -
My o2 email account does not work when sending from my MAC it will accept incoming mail but not send it gives me a message that o2 account (offline) my mac I have no problem with my iPhone or mac laptop. any suggestions please.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

After installing the new Yosemite OS on my iMac I can no longer send email. I can receive email, but not send. I use gmail and can send email on the gmail (google) site, but not on "mail" on my iMac. Any others with this problem? What should we do?
My gmail, which is correctly configured for Mail with gmail SMTP and Google IMAP, works for awhile on Mail, which I leave open while working on other applications. But several times a day I get msg from Google: "We recently blocked a sign-in attempt to your Google Account" . . . and requiring me to verify my account details, re-enter passwords, confirm security settings (or change them from "disable" to "enable less secure methods" and so on). In Mail I also have tried "taking all accounts online", and re-entering my gmail password inside Mail account settings. These steps successfully re-set comms between gmail and Mail ... for awhile, then it happens again. Enough occurrences over a work day that I just quit Mail and revert to accessing gmail directly. Apple Care advisor and an Apple knowledge base article say that Apple can't deal with this, as gmail is third-party app, and they refer me to gmail, and so far I've found nothing helpful there.
From today I also have several instances of a window saying "Mail has unexpectedly closed" and asking me to Re-open it.
I also use Yahoo mail, which stops working with Mac Mail at the same time as gmail, but I do not receive notices to re-verify from Yahoo.
I recently upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite. The Mail problem happened occasionally with Mavericks but is far more frequent with Yosemite.
