Mac makes beep noise when I wake it up from sleep

Recently I upgraded the Ram on my macbook from 1 gb to 4 and now when I put it to sleep It wakes up becuase I can here everything on inside but the screen wont turn on. Every time this happens I have to boot it down but recently I woke it up and it made a BEEP noise and the sleep indicator light flashed with it. Again I had to boot it down. Help!!

There have been a couple posts recently of a similar nature: take the memory modules out and then reinsert, making sure they are seated all the way in the sockets.  If not properly seated the system will not see them at all and refuse to even boot up.
You should also check to make sure they are the same type as the original memory modules, that is, the same speed, memory type, etc.
You did not say your source of the modules, so I will only offer OWC, http://www.macsales.com as a reliable source to compare and be sure they are the memory the Mac wants to see.  You can also get information on the required memory type from http://www.everymac.com look for the type of Mac you have, and the year/model number to see exactly what memory your Mac uses.

It may very well be a RAM issue but possibly something else.  Look over this extensive troubleshooting document for a possible solution:

Been waiting along time for this problem to be fixed. Unfortunately the update hasn't help at all and even made the situation worse. Now my airplay connection from iMac to stereo abruptly stops after about 10-15 min. so I have to go over and quit wifi, start it up and find my airport network. Not sure why it always has a problem with the apple airport network. My neighbor's pc network is always there.

  • What is that sound effect when you wake the MBP from sleep?

There is some sound effect every time I wake the MBP up from sleep. I am not sure what is making that sound. It sound like "pffft", I hope that makes sense.

Hi I hve the same problem mi MacBook Pro doeas that, the sound that makes is the one I have for default, Funk (for example if my computer sleeping with the screen open and I press any key on the keybord it makes that sound) if you want you can try this, to chek if that is the sound that you heare, close all the windows and try to use expose.
remember the sound that you are going to heare is the one that you have for default.
Another thing is that I re-instal the OS and the computer stops from doing that but then start again when I eject my iPod from the finder window but I left it conected from the USB and then when the computer was sleeping I desconected it.
I know that maybe nothing of this can help you but I want to let you know that you are not alone.
If you found the fix for that thing please let me know.

  • Why does my computer turn black when I wake it up from Sleep Mode

When I need to go somewhere or just eat lunch, I put my iMac to sleep. After that, when I come back to wake it back up, it stays black, I called Apple Support and they said I need to pay 20 dollars just to see if they can resolve the issue. So, if there is anyone that knows how to resolve this issue, I would very much appreciate it.

Try resetting your iMac's SMC and see if that fixes your issue. This happened to me once with my MacBook Air and resetting the SMC did the trick.
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: For Intel-based Xserve computers that are not responding, you can shut down locally, or by using remote commands, or by pressing and holding the power button for five seconds.

  • Screen freezes up when I wake the iMac from sleep

Hi, all. This is my first post to Apple Discussions, so please pardon me if this is a dumb question. I have had a problem twice in the last 24 hours. I have an iMac G5 that I keep on most of the time. I do put it on sleep mode when I'm not using it. This morning, and then again this evening, I had the iMac on sleep mode. When I woke the computer, the screen came up, as usual, but when I went to click on the Safari icon, the screen became fuzzy and locked up. Powering the unit down was the only way to restart the computer. After that, things worked fine. However, this is a new occurrence. Is it something serious? Is it easily fixable? Is this common with iMacs? Just wondering. In the meantime, I'll probably just use the "shut down" command when the computer is not in use. Thanks for any advice that you can offer.

  • Flicking noise when I boot my iMac from sleep mode??

Another problem that has struck my iMac..
Every time I boot my Mac form sleep mode it comes on and starts clicking/flicking like the fan's cough on somehting. I know it's not the fan and it's most likley to be the HD but worth asking just incase it's a problem that I can fix (which i dought).
I think I'm going to take the Mac into a Apple store and see how much it will cost to fix. Because I can't see myself going back to Microsoft windows again if this brakes.. I would rather just wait and save for a new iMac.
I've had this problem quite a while but never payed much attention to it as I thought it was because of the room tempreture. But it's annoying me now, so if anyone knows what it could be please tell me..

  • When listening to nano 6th gen with dock the audio book will make beeping noises and then switch to a song.

While listening to my 6th gen nano on a JBL dock the audio book will make beep noises and then swith to a song on my nano.  Any idea?  Thanks.

I saw your other post, but thought I would reply here as well. It is all about getting that headset seated all the way. If you can see any silver of the plug, it is not in far enough. Push harder. If it just won't go in, look in there to see if it is blocked. The bottom of the headset port is white, so if it appears all dark at the bottom... something is in there.

  • IPad makes beeping sounds when charging while connected to mac

iPad makes beeping sounds when charging while connected to mac

First off, I suggest using the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a good wall outlet. USB ports often do not supply enough power for efficient charging on an iPad.

  • My ipods screan is black and it wont turn on but it still makes a noise when i plug it in to the charger. can anyone help?

my ipod isnt turning on but it still makes a noise when i plug it into the charger can anyone help me?

    Hey there cameronw99,
It sounds like you are unable to see your iPod Touch screen, as it stays black but it makes the connection tone when you plug in the USB cable. Use these steps to resolve the issue with the iPod from the following article:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    chttp://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

I had that problem too before.
I waited for 2 days and it stopped.
My friends banged it on the floor and it was perfect (exepet for a small dent.)

  • Is there a way to set up a dial tone or a way for someone who is hard of hearing to have the phone set up to make a noise when I hold it up to my ear?

Is there a way to set up an dial tone or set the phone up to make a noise when I hold it up to my ear when i use it

I'm also not sure what you want to accomplish by this. Until you hit the "call" button, the phone is not 'off hook' like a traditional landline would be. There is no such thing as a dial tone on any cell phone. The dial tone was simply a carrier signal from the central office that prepared that end to listen for the pulses (later tones) generated when you dialed.
