Mac Mavericks has messed up my CS4

Since downloading Mavericks, Photoshop CS4 is not working correctly. Specifically, I have lost my Tools bar and many of my most useful Tools, including the main cursor. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Most of the problems come from other incompatible crap you have installed.
The things suggested to you do not make it more wonky. They can sometimes fix weird issues.
Space does not enter the selected email address, Enter does. If it doesn't identify an address, then it isn't in your Contacts or Previous Recipients. However, after sending once, it should recognize it. See if you can find it in Contacts or in "Previous Recipients" in the Window menu of Mail.
For the other problems, boot into Safe Mode.
If you can access those sites in Safe Mode, you have some third-party software blocking the sites.

Maverick has messed up my computer. Slow scrolling in I photo. Bookmark icons are blue all the time and not marked with the company symbols. I cannot find out how to solve this.

I switched to Mavericks two weeks ago and have had nothing but troubles. Scrolling in I photo is slow and very inaccurate. When I click and drag a photo the ones above it all flicker, making it hard to find where to put it. My bookmarks bar Icons are all blue. Before they used to show the symbol for the company they represented. Now I click on one, it changes to what I want, then a few minutes of hour later, it goes back to the blue ball, which I hate. My font size is different with every page and I have to click Zoom in all the time. I tried adjusting it in Preferences in Advance settings on the right, but this does not solve the problem permanetly. I have one web page, a hockey one, which tries to load, then I get either a black page or a white one. Driving me nuts. I need some help. Been to Apple at the store, talked to them on the phone for four hours last week. Rebuilt the I photo library with no luck. Would appreciate any help. Please Thanks. I even keep a fan behind my computer to keep it cool, that is how much I look after this baby. Some say it might be Safari? Not sure. I have little computer experience, so please it you are kind enough to reply, do not use tech talk or short forms as I will not understand any of it.

I have a few of your issues as well: 1) Safari popular icons are all bue making them very hard to distinguish from each other. 2) My font size is also different with each page / window. What I have been able to find out is that in the Maverick OS - Apple removed one size of display resolution 2048 x 1152. Whether this is the cause of my 27" screen clarity & font size issues, I do not know - but it seems like a contributing factor. Maybe help is on the way - maybe not. Cheers

Mavericks has messed up Mail and Safari

Installed Mavericks a few days ago on my iMac and some really annoying bugs have been introduced to Mail (7.3) and Safari (7.0.6). I can't automatically add multiple addresses to emails anymore using the space bar; I have to manually type out certain addresses, add commas, etc. Certain webpages, including youtube and google, won't load on Safari. Chat support had me repair permissions with disk utility, clear cookies and reset safari, but none worked. It was also suggested that I do an SMC reset, a PRAM reset, and a safe reboot. I haven't done any of these, basically because I'm nervous about introducing any more wonkiness that I can't undo. I've been reading about similar problems with Mavericks for months now (I only upgraded because I needed it for Final Cut) , but I never see any solutions. Can anyone help me??? Thanks.

Try Image Capture, it is located in your Applications Folder.

you havent given any information on specifics of what "issue" you have.
If you have a time machine backup, you could restore to mountain Lion.
However the Air runs faster and better on Mavericks.

That refers to free disk space, not RAM. If your computer has 4GB of RAM, that's enough. If it only has 4GB of free disk space, you need to delete content from the internal drive; for best results, free up at least 20GB.

Has anyone tried running Dragon NaturallySpeaking (for Windows) on Mac Mavericks?

Has anyone tried running Dragon NaturallySpeaking (for Windows) on Mac Mavericks? I have finally given up on Dragon Dictate for Mac, which alas, after years of buying every new updated version, is still exceedingly buggy and does not begin to compare in quality to the PC version. I love my Mac, and don't like my PC at all, but the third-party voice dictation software for Mac is so pathetic, that I have wound up dictating on my PC, and then sending it to my Mac: an truly annoying and Baroque process. I was able to train over 120 words in Sanskrit word perfect on Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but on Dragon Dictate for Mac, I can't even get it to train my name. I know this is not an Apple problem, but I'm trying to find a way around by possibly running the DNS version on Windows on my iMac.
I have a hand disability, so I really do need to use voice dictation, both for dictating and navigating on my computer.
If anyone is doing this, are you using Boot Camp, VM fusion, or Parallels? How well does it work? Has anyone discovered anything else I ought to be considering, before giving this a try? I had tried running this on an old on 2008 iMac (with much less power), using Parallels, but it was incredibly slow. Now that I have a much more powerful iMac, I'm wondering whether it would be worth another try. As it will be quite an investment to purchase all this third-party software to get Dragon up and running, I was hoping to get a sense of how well it works, before plunking down the cash. I would be extremely grateful for helpful feedback.

You cannot run a Windows application on a Mac unless you run Windows on the Mac.
Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
   1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows
         XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7. For Boot Camp
         4.0 and above you can only use Windows 7 or later. Follow

         installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and

         Fusion.
Note that VirtualBox, Parallels, and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. OKAY FOLKS, I found the answer. I figured the only explination could be with my iCloud Account. I tried EVERYTHING, read every discussion on this topic. It WASN'T b/c I had an old Mobile Me account. It WASN'T b/c I didn't have the sttings right. I rebooted, erased data, EVERYTHING. The only solution was to create a NEW iCloud account - I chose a new address through Apple (me.com). Even though I already have a me.com email address and a different Apple ID I figured starting fresh was the only way. Sadly, I lost all of my calendar data (when I tried to import my old calendar data from a backup it was associated with the old iCloud account and could not be edited) but my contacts were saved. I just re-entered my calendar information... figured this would be less time consuming than trying to reboot and research the issue 10 more hours!
Here are the steps I used:
1- iCloud was OFF on my iPhone to start
2- Export your iCal and iContacts data from your Mac to a backup (you WILL lose your data)
3- On iPhone went to Settings, iCloud and went through the proper steps to set up a new iCloud account with a NEW email address (me.com)
4- On iMac under System Preferences I deleted my OLD iCloud account (it will prompt you stating you will lose your data or you can merge/save). The only way I could get it to work was to accept the warning it was going to delete everything
5- Set up a NEW iCloud account on my Mac with the NEW me.com account I set up on my iPhone. Somehow my Contacts were kept in tact, uploaded to iCloud and to my iPhone. Had issues with my iCal data, but I entered all the information manually.
Everything is syncing great! Haven't set this up yet on my iPad but will do that next. I'm hopeful!!

Mavericks a Mess When Will Fixes Be Available

I have a 27 Imac late 2011 and I have to say Mavericks has made a mess of my machine. Its slow, lazy, crashes and more. Programs dont work, half work and my machine gernally has become unresponsive.
I have to say I'm NOT impressed.
I keep reading all the fixes here but frankly I am busy and can't takes hours just playing around trying to fix things that I shouldnt have to fix.
My question ... since we all seem to be in Mac-Meltdown is there a BIG FIX for Mavericks coming soon?

I'm having tons of problems w the new Mavericks. Safari links are wrong or dropped (e.g no confirm pop-up on closing multiple links, history links mixed up) , my HP printer isn't recognized without a work around, Rdio sign-in link inactive (had to use Firefox to get in), my ID3 editor is missing some links (e'g special characters). Too many bugs, will restore to previous OS X tonight.

The 150:30 error means licensing broke.
Two ways to fix this: If you are used to the Terminal app, you download the license recovery package and following instructions carefully, you use the python script in the package. Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS

Sometimes, when I am about to click something in the upper right corner, the banners stand in the way. It is very annoying.
However, I still need them and it is not an option to completely turn off notifications.
Has anybody faced the same problem?

Yeah, i've been playing around a bit with Notifications, and not being able to move there location is very annoying. The default location normally means it is covering one or more tabs in Safari (or any tabbed application for that matter). Might have to try Growl again.
