Mac Menu Bar Unresponsive in Dreamweaver CS 5.5

Hi all,
I keep having the same problem where when I try to click on menu bar items in DW (file, edit, view, etc), they won't do anything when clicked, and it seems like there's a delay when items are highlighted on mouse over.  Anyone else having a simiar problem & know how to fix?  Thanks!

First, disable any extensions to make sure it's not a bad extension causing the menu issue.  Sometimes extension can alter the menus and if something was wrong, then it could be causing your issue.  If not try deleting this configuration folder: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405604.html#main_user_config

  • Can't access top of photoshop window under mac menu bar

The top of my Photoshop window has slipped under the Mac menu bar-and I can't acces it. I've tried re launching PS, it opens in the same position. I've tried the tapping the F key- does not solve it. I've tried different work spaces- still the same. I've tried using mission control- it lets me see the top bar in the photoshop window, then when I choose it, it's still the same.
Is there any way to hide the mac menu bar when I have PS open so I could grab the title bar and bring it down?
    HELP- Thanks

I tried everything suggested here and on other sites and nothing* would work for me. I luckily have other monitors plugged into my laptop and when I unplugged one, the top of the Photoshop title bar showed up on another monitor.
    * I tried changing my resolution to a larger resolution and when that didn't reveal it, I changed the orientation of my one of my attached monitor. I could see the top of the title bar then on another monitor, but since I couldn't control my mouse easily and get it back to my main monitor/laptop where the system preferences box was, it timed out on me and I wasn't able to grab the title bar of Photoshop. I only mentioned all that because if someone is not working on multiple screens and the resolution trick doesn't work for them, maybe try changing the orientation...but that was only an option for my attached monitor. So maybe none of this is a helpful tip. Sorry!

  • Title Bar hidden behind Apple Mac menu bar

    Hi
I am using Elements Organizer 12.1 and, for some reason, the title bar is hidden behind my Apple Mac menu bar.  Does anyone know how to click behind the menu bar so I can access the Elements title bar?
    Thanks
    Richard

The first thing to try is to go to system preferences>displays and set your screen resolution down as far as it will go. You may need to try a few different settings, but eventually it may snap back into place and then you can go back to the correct setting for your display.

  • Java System.setProperty  (get JMenuBar on mac menu bar)

    Hi,
I am currently building a Java application using Eclipse IDE. I have written GUI programs on OS X 10.4 before and managed to get the JMenuBar on the mac menu bar using
    System.setProperty("apple.laf.useScreenMenuBar", "true");
But for some reason when using leopard the JMenuBar seems to disappear totally. When i don't use the above line it shows on the JFrame as it should do.
    System.setProperty("com.apple.mrj.application.apple.menu.about.name", "AppName");
The above line doesn't work either with OS X 10.5
Anyone have any experience with this and had any success?
    Thanks,
    Sion

    Hi Sion
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You might be able to work around these problems using Jar Bundler, which takes a Jar file and converts it into a Mac OS X application. One of the options is to use the top line menu bar (instead of having it at the top of the frame).
Find Jar Bundler in /Developer/Applications/Java Tools

  • Restore Mac Menu Bar

I would like to know how to restore the black text on the Mac MenuBar Right now, my text is a grey color (almost as if the options are disabled). I have provided an image below. This happened, I think, after I used this software.
If I uncheck the "Transulent Menu Bar" in System Prefrences, I get this:
I would like it to look like this:
    Thanks for any help!
    Colby

Any time you install a hack like this, you run a risk that it may not be reversible. I suspect that this hack probably modified some part of the system and did not properly restore it when it "removed" itself. Try contacting the developer... but you'll need to be prepared if he/she is unresponsive.
If you have a backup of your system from before you installed that hack, you should restore to that backup. Otherwise, you could try reinstalling the system on top of your existing system. This will restore any modified or removed files.
By the way, note that running as root on a normal basis is an astoundingly bad idea. In fact, enabling the root user at all isn't a very good idea. This doesn't help you now, but you should not do this in the future.

  • How do I remove the Adobe updater from the Mac menu bar?

I would like to remove the Adobe Updater from my menu bar for my Mac, I found a lot of instruction to remove it for other versions of the updater, but the I can't find that option in the new CS6 updater.
If there is a way to completely stop the updater from running, that would be useful too.
I also don't understand why the updater say "4" in the menu bar, I only have Photoshop installed, and there are no update avaiable.

I am one of the many for whom Application Manager just started to crash every time I tried to open it. I was also getting the 'trial' dialog box, then a request for a serial number, even though I subscribe to Creative Cloud.
After hours with Adobe Tech Support, I have gone the around-your-elbow-to-get-to-your-mouth method of creating a second user and installing CC apps there...hopefully this is temporary situation, but a girl has to work.
My question is this: how do I remove the updater notifications from the menu bar [original user] if I can't open Application Manager? It crashes every time...besides, Tech Support had me send it to the trash and delete it. I went to my other user ID, updated all, but I'm still showing the annoying update badge in my original menu bar. [Altho' Camera Raw failed to update...that's another issue]
Please advise. I had CS5.5 Design Premium...maybe it would be easier just to upgrade that to CS6 and ditch Creative Cloud!
    Thanks in advance.

  • Do not show the Mac menu bar and the Dock in full-screen mode option not available

"Remote Desktop Connection" for mac has an option to
hide the menu bar in full screen mode.  I am unable to locate this option in the new
Microsoft Remote Desktop.  Without this option the remote desktop connection bar becomes completely inaccessible.  And since the old "remote desktop connection" program has poor support for windows 8.1 I cannot go back.
Is there a workaround?  Can you please add this important feature back in?
    Blog

    H,
I am afraid that we have no solution or workaround for this. I will help to submit this as a customer wish to the product team.
    Thanks for the feedback.

  • Why Does My Mac Menu Bar Disappear While I Am In Safari?

How can I reset so my Mac tool bar shows in Safari

I had a problem in Yosemite where the top menu just disappeared, so I could not even tell if I was in Firefox or Safari. I could not see the toolbar which contained, for example, "Safari File Edit View History Bookmarks Develop Window Help". The same apple for the Firefox, Excel and all the other top toolbars.
I accidentally solved it when I was in Excel and pressed option-command-v. This locked up and destroyed my Excel Spreadsheet and there was no "Undo" option on that command either. The side effect was that the top toolbar came back. It was a fault I have never seen before and one which I could not easily find on ant websites. Your fault seems to be one of the closest to what I had.

  • Is their a way to restore my mac menu bar to factory settings?

    Hi Everyone,
I am a software trainer, and as a result, when I present my classes, I remove all the menu items from my menu bar on my MacBook Pro so as to create a clean workspace. The problem is, I actually want all of those menulet's there the other 99% of the time, and after every class I teach, I have to one by one go through the system pref's to turn them back on. I use the same menulet's that come with the mac out of the box, so is their a way of restoring the menu to factory settings with a couple of clicks? You know, kind of like how you can reset your home page layout on an iPhone or iPad?
    Thanks in advance...
    Jack

Thanks OrangeMarlin, I thought of doing that for a while but for some reason always dismissed it. That makes total sense because then not only can I have a nice clean menu bar but I don't have to worry about students seeing my personal files.
    Thanks!

  • Airplay icon disappeared from my mac menu bar

i'd just installed  the new software Os X Mavericks, and for a moment i could use airplay, but, when i wanted to continue using this
it simply dissapeared from my menu bar,

Okay, so why not post to the Mac forums?  This is obviously an issue with the Mac after upgrading.

  • IChat Icon in menu bar unresponsive~ Suggestions/fixes?

    Hey all, 1st post here!
I have a problem with my ichat icon in my menu bar- it highlights when clicked, but does not unfold into the menu that it is supposed to access... Any ideas/suggestions?

    Hi Heady1701,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
I would start with going to iChat Preferences > General section and turning the Menu Bar Icon Off.
Does this make the icon disappear from the Menu bar ?
If it does not delete com.apple.ichat.plist
This requires you go manually to your Little House iCon/Lirary/Preferences as Spotlight does not look in here.
Restart iChat if you have to delete the .plist
If it does remove itself from the Menu Bar then try resetting it and using it again.
It may help if we also had more info.
Is it Greyed Out when you are Logged Off the Buddy lists ?
(IT should show just Saved Status Messages)
If you are logged into AIM or Jabber (GoogleTalk) it should show the Buddy list that would be front (it is the top one in iChat > Preferences > Accounts which can be dragged in iChat 4 into any order)
(i.e. There are two menus it could show you depending if you are logged in already)

  • Can't use Spotlight/Airport from the Mac menu bar...

    Hi!
A few days ago my menu bar stopped working like it used to.
Pressing the magnifying glass to access the spotlight quick search only plays the "Funk" sound - i.e. the "not allowed" sound.
Furthermore, sometimes when I try to access the Airport network list from the menu bar, I'm able to see the available networks, but moving the cursor onto the list opens the adjacent setting panel, battery for example.
I've tried restarting the computer - no success...
    Thankful for answers, or tips!

This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
    Firefox 18.4%
    Activity Monitor 0.9%
    Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

  • Remote desktop 8.0.14 (and prior) full screen RDweb session, screen pushed down by Mac Menu bar, mouse pointer on wrong position

    Hi
On Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, there is a clear bug on the Microsoft Remote desktop app when
    a) remoting into a Windows server that is set to display full screen
    b) when you are logging in using a RDweb server aka RDS 2012.
After logging in to the remote server, the full screen representation of the server desktop has the following issues:
    - The Mac Launchpad is still visible over the Windows desktop, making that part of the Windows desktop impossible to reach.
    - The published screen is pushed down about 15 pixels. It is pushed down by the Mac's menu that also remains visible.
When I directly remote into the same server using traditional direct RDP (Not via the RDweb, gateway setup) the screen positions correctly.
I guess: Somehow the Remote desktop app  (8.0.14) does not seem to get the message from the server that this is a full screen session? Is there some information that the connection Broker or Gateway is not passing allong to
    the client?
I have replicated this many times. It is the same whether I connect to a 2012 server or to a 2008 server.
    Bart

    Hi,
For a try you can use URI scheme for the specified desktop screen or full screen and check the result. You can refer the following article for information.
Remote Desktop Client URI Scheme Support
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn690096.aspx
Apart if you have RD Gateway setup then you can try the option for RD Gateway to uncheck “Bypass RD Gateway for Local address” and verify result.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • My Mac Menu Bar has 2 Abode Icons.  How can I get rid of one?

Hi there. My status bar has a "Creative Cloud Icon" (with the number 6 next to it) and a second "Adobe Icon" (with a 5 next to it).  See attached.
When I click the Adobe icon, it just opens Creative Cloud updater anyway.
I don't mind having the creative cloud icon, but the other is redundant, takes up space, and displays different information.  How do I get rid of the second one?
    Thanks, Jon

    Hi There,
Kindly try the below mentioned steps.
    1. Open Activity monitor.
    2. Search for process similar to AAM notifier:
    3. if you are able to find it, kindly quit that process.
    Thanks,
    Atul Saini
