Mac mic issue

I have been trying to input a real music track with MIDI. My question is: how can I record without having the built in mic picking up the key noise from my Yamaha keyboard?
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.1)

I'm still missing something. The mic will create no
sound on a "software" track.
Make sure your "Software" (MIDI) track is selected,
and the only one enabled for recording.
As a side note: you can change your System
Preferences-> Sound ->Input to Line-In, which
disables the internal mic.
Side Note^2: on "Real" tracks turn Monitor
"off" and you won't hear what's being recorded to
those tracks.

    I clicked on a video on FaceBook & ended up with a pop up that says I have a serious Mac system issue & I need to call this phone number immediately.
    I can't do anything at all with Safari now.  Has anyone had this issue?  Know how to get rid of it?  I

    As mentioned in msg 12 & 13 VLAN is our WLAN.
    After getting this msg automatically all network goes down, I need to shut down the associated port winch is directly or indirectly connected with AP, and after some time it will work properly.
    Now I need some mechanism which can be block the duplicate source mac address to preventing from this kind of scenario.
    Regards,
    Shekhar

    Hi Devils,
    Answer is in below -
    1. Are those MAC addresses actual Wireless Hosts? i.e have you traced them?
    = Yes, those are actual wireless MAC add, I have check in zone director controller.
    2. Are the SSID's set to tunnel?
    =No
    3. Do you have one ZoneDirector or two?
    =Two, both of them are connected with core switch.
    I have been confirmed about that  if wireless users are roaming between two AP or more it will appear the same error msg, now what would be the solution. ????
    What extly the solution is?>
    Where should i implement the solution on switch or zone director?
    Please suggest!!!!!

  • Is anyone having Mic issues with iPhone 5?

    Is anyone having Mic issues with iPhone 5? Speakerphone works but not the mic, on phone calls and memos.
    Took it to local Genius campus and after taking off the back screen and case, they blew air into the mica and it worked for about 20 mins.
    I can't have a ready can of air around every time the mic goes out.
    Anyone else had similar issues?

    I am having a similar problem. I had the iPhone 5 delivered yesterday. On most of the calls I tried, the person on the other end could hear me just fine on speakerphone, but not on the regular mic. It was garbled, or I would cut in and out. I could always hear the other person clearly.
    I just got back from a Genius Bar appointment where they gave me an entirely new phone. The issue exists on this one also, though now it seems like the audio is more muffled than garbled or spotty. Again, speakerphone works, and I can hear the other person clearly.
    I had originally restored backup from my 3GS, but before I went to the Genius Bar I restored to factory settings just to be sure it wasn't a software issue (it wasn't, apparently). I did not restore from the old phone for this new handset either.
    Thanks for any suggestions...frustrating, for sure!

  • Windows 7 - Audigy 2 ZS Mic Issues

    "Windows 7 - Audigy 2 ZS Mic IssuesG Ok, i've seen so many posts on this issue but am now suffering from a headache after spending 3 hours trying everything I could find in google to fix this.
    The mic works when it wants. When it does work (rarely), its garbled or lagging like crazy.
    I have read, and searched this forums, but besides seeing "Doesn't work" or "Use daniel_k's drivers" i cant find any definate fix (or even links to something new that I haven't already tried).
    I tried daniel ks drivers and they seems to be pretty darn good, however it still did not correct my issue.
    I record music, and I play games. . . and absolutely love win7. . . but am forced to use XP (limiting my amount of memory used) when I want to do any of the above.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    &Re: Windows 7 - Audigy 2 ZS Mic Issues? The support pack does absolutely nothing to fix the mic issues.
    Does this driver improve sound quality or performance? Are there any tweaks?
    No, this driver does not improve sound quality nor increase performance.
    No, there are no tweaks.
    If someone states that its driver improves sound quality and performance, you are being fooled, cheated.
    It is even worse that the so called tweaks come from a person who is not EVEN technically acknowledged, does NOT know anything about Windows internals, software engineering and?sound?fidelity that all audiophiles always look for.
    If you "feel" the sound better, that is the infamous placebo effect and there is no real proof that any tweaks work.
    In fact, I have yet to see a driver that states in its release notes that it improves sound quality.
    I've disassembled about every single .SYS driver, .DLL libraries and .EXE executables and found nothing.
    There are some undocumented registry values, but nothing related to sound quality or performance.
    Would the so called tweaks even exist, they would be in my Support Packs, you can bet that.
    and
    Microphone issues on Windows 7/Vista 64-bit (x64) with 4GB?of RAM or more
    Audigy driver does not support 64-bit addressing, resulting in random issues with the Microphone (static, robotic or distorted voice, white noise).
    Workarounds:
    - install the 32-bit (x86) version of Windows
    - limit the RAM available to Windows to less than 4GB
    - enable Memore Hole in BIOS Setup, if?your motherboard supports the setting

  • 4s microphone has always malfunctioned (people can't hear me) for first 10 seconds of outgoing phone calls. I've synched w healthy Macbook Pro, replaced SIM cards, replaced iPhone 4s, called Applecare (no mic issue admitted). OS problem?

    4s microphone has malfunctioned on most outgoing calls for many months. People can't hear me for first 10 seconds of outgoing phone calls. I've synched w healthy Macbook Pro, replaced SIM cards, replaced iPhone 4s when Apple Store thought it was probably a hardware problem, called Applecare (no mic issue admitted). OS problem??? I think so! [Possible] good news: for the past 2 days, since updating to 5.1.1, no one has reported problems hearing me!
    I'm concerned Applecare folks did not admit to me that so many other 4s users also has malfunctioning mics.

    Why would that even matter?
    The device obviously has a hardware issue and is under warranty, take it to Apple for replacement and move on with life.  No reason to make things difficult.

  • MAC address issue----Spearman

    Saw your comments on this in the post about the 1.9 bios for neo2platty ....
    I can confirm that My MAC address issue was caused by the bios that you sited in your comments....all F's were written to My nvidia lan too...
    only solution from what I have read is too rma it...'bummer'
    just thought You would like to know....  Your not alone

    I had the same problem yesterday and after many hours searching the web I ended up with this post that made me really desperate... But I didn't give up and while trying a new bios flash because of random crashes when in the bios, I noticed the obvious: you can change the MAC address when flashing
    use the last version of the dos flasher with the parameters /nvmac:xxxxxxxxxxxx/wb after the name of the bios file; it's explained if you ask the help with the /help parameter. You can find the mac address on a stick on the parallel port.

  • WoW Gaming headset mic issue!!

    Hello!
    I keep hoping to see an updated driver or "fix" for the mic issue. My headset is the wired version and I'm told by my fellow Ventrilo users that they hear an odd "electronic" noise when I talk. Intermittant and unpredictable ... and very annoying. I'm still holding out hope for a fix for this issue but cannot wait too much longer before returning my headset and buying Sony .....
    The sound through the earphones is wonderful and what I expected from Creative. The mic issue, however, leaves me very disappointed. One hundred and twenty bucks is a lot of money to spend for a headset only to have a poor quality microphone.
    Is the mic on this headset borked? Or can we expect a fix from Creative?

    having a mic issue aswell, sometimes if i'm watching a youtube video, the people on skype can hear the video through my mic, yes the headset is on my head when they can hear it.
    I've tried the 8% trick but when I do that, they can hardly understand me on skype, come on creative, why don't you just make your products like you should. Constantly had issues with my Fatalty headset aswell and now it's the same, but with a headset that costs 00 euros more, so creative, more support would be great...

    Thanks bazzardl. I was able to get the MAC Mail issue resolved. Best, glofromkc

    I am having the same problem but cannot get anything but the actual phone to work.  I have a unlocked 3GS running 6.0 (what was I thinking?).  No data whatsoever, no texting, no visual voicemail.  I simply cannot access the APN settings.  I have tried sim swap, I have tried APN changers.  I have been on the phone with ST tech support for hours and hours.  I have tried to get the answers from a "genius".  I am stuck and looking at Android devices, but would really like to keep using the iphone with Straight Talk.

  • Penryn Macs having issues?

    Okay,
    I have finally decided to move to Mac OS and buy a MacBook Pro.
    * iWork '08 preinstalled
    * Accessory Kit
    * MacBook Pro 15-inch Widescreen Display
    * 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    * 200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
    * Backlit Keyboard/Mac OS - U.S. English
    * SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    * 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
    * Apple Remote
    * NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB
    I am extremely exited. But before i order, i was wondering if I should expect allot of problems? About 2 years ago, my friend bought a macbook and had to have it replaced 5 times. How have the Penryn macs been?
    This will l be my first Mac ever so I am hoping to have a good transition to the mac world:)
    Thanks,
    Mac Zac.

    Hi Zac.
    Let me be the first to say, welcome to the light side!
    Regarding the Penryn Macs: No, there are not so many issues that you should hold off buying one. If you browse the forums here you'll find lots of people running into problems. But remember that all the millions of people that DON'T have problems don't come here to tell you everything's working fine. For the vast majority of people, Macs work seamlessly, day in and day out.
    Of course, like all technology products, sometimes Macs have issues. They are made out of the same silicon and chips as other computers and, like those other computers, components can fail or go bad. That's just life. The good news is: it's rare.
    Likewise, Leopard is running extremely well for the vast majority of people. To be sure, there are a few small issues affecting small groups of people. Some folks are having wireless troubles, others are seeing some typing issues after a keyboard firmware update, for some folks iTunes is locking up while browsing cover flow. But, again, these issues don't appear to be too widespread and I would certainly not hold off buying a Mac because of them. You can bet that Apple engineers are all over the issues and they'll be resolved soon.
    To sum up: the state of the Mac world is fantastic. Like everything else in life, it's not perfect. But it's as close as you'll get with a computer! My advice is to pull the trigger and enjoy the switch! And I'll put my money where my mouth is as well: my $3,000 Penryn MacBook Pro arrives tomorrow morning.

  • USB mic issue

    I recently bought a Samson C01U USB condenser mic but I' having problems with it in Garageband.
    If I start up the computer and start up garageband I can record quite well (quality wise) although sometimes the mic is not balanced correctly e.g - left side records louder than the right.
    Ok, so I shut down Garageband, go and do some other stuff and come back to it later.
    When I try to record the sound quality is dreadful, completely muffled and in order to get anything decent again I have to restart the computer. Even if I move the mic from one USB port to another (and I'm only using the ones at the back - not a hub or the keyboard ports) the problem remains.
    Also, the Samson pre-amp software does not work on the iMac but it did work previously on my G5.
    Has anyone else encountered this kind of problem? Any advice would be much appreciated as I have a podcast to complete by Friday and it's becoming a nightmare to get it together.
    Thanks

    The Software doesn't exist for Intel Macs yet. The Samson support wrote to me on Aug 22: "We are planning on releasing a Soft Pre version that is compatible with
    Intel Macs." Let's hope for it.
    I've had the issues too that you are describing, like that strange left/right balancing. Anyway, you should set the track in GB to mono since it's not a stereo microphone. I used to have a really low input level the first times I used it.
    You can correct some things by going to the Audio/Midi configuration program. There you can set the microphone to 16 bit/mono and crank up the gain. Make sure to go back next time to see if the settings are still the same - sometimes they don't "stick".

  • ZOOM H2 usb mic issues

    I am having volume and intermittent static issues when trying to use a Zoom H2 recorder as a usb mic going directly into my macbook. In Garage band and the sound preferences the volume being registered is almost half of what the little H2 screen is registering. So what is recorded by GB is alot softer than the mic is picking up. Also there is intermittent pops of static in the GB recording.
    My GB records using the built-in mic just fine and even line-in fine (other than the low volume for line-in).
    when I use my H2 as a portable recorder it works great. no static and no volume issues but when usb to my macbook i have those issues.
    I have the lasted version of H2 firmware.
    Also if i up the mic gain on the H2 it reds out on the H2 screen but more volume with the distortions on GB.
    any thoughts??

    I'm having the same problems with my Zoom H2. Actually, it works well as a USB mic for about eight minutes, then it just sends static into the notebook. The static crops up in GarageBand and Skype.
    I tried removing the batteries, switching the sampling rate, and installing the new firmware. Nothing worked.
    Called Zoom today and they said they don't have the problem with their Macs. They told me to exchange the unit for another one and see if the problem persists.
    The Zoom tech did mention that people have similar problems with PC USB ports that are underpowered. Similar, but not the same.
    I have a Santa Rosa MBP, if that helps anything.
    I'm going to exchange this recorder for a new one and hopefully that'll fix things.
    I'll post here if it does.
    Good luck.
    P.S. I've also read of static problems with the Zoom USB mic. Perhaps a QC issue with Zoom? Or some strange incompatibility with certain Macs?

  • Samson USB mic issue

    Hi All,
    I purchased a Samson USB mic C01U which is a pretty sweet mic. I used it USB once on my Mac Book Pro but only for a quick verse or two on a friends song.
    I came back to my home MacMini and tried to get it worked and after setting up aggregate devices etc... got it going but after about 5-10 minutes the audio started to chatter and clip.
    I fiddled with it alot. If I unplug it, plug it back in it works for another 5-10 then chatters.
    So I figure its a driver or conflict problem.
    Well the other day my new MacPro arrived. I installed Logic, setup the aggregate device and I suddenly have the same problem. No bad drivers or anything (trial software etc) But still I get 5 mins then chatter and clip.
    Any thoughts? Anyone using USB mics with Logic Pro?
    Thanks in advance.

    I saw that thread albeit after I posted this. The thread address some technical issues but didn't give any opinions on the sound quality. I wouldn't expect too much from an $80.00 mic but I was wondering if it was at least a decent value.
    I should have been more specific.
