Mac mini boot error, i have tried everything!

i upgraded my mac mini to 10.5 from 10.4 and it worked great, but i wanted to "erase and install" so i went back to do it and it was just doing it, when i had a power cut, the mac went off and when the power came back on, i turned on the mac and i got the Grey apple logo with the spinning gear underneath and it doesn't go past this. i have tried doing the keyboard shortcuts (power and holding shift ect.) but my mac wont respond, i have inserted the original restore disk and nothing happens, in fact i can't get it out even if i wanted to.
has anyone got any ideas what could be the matter with it? and how to fix it.
i would be so unbelievably grateful.

Using a wired USB keyboard, hold the OPTION key (ALT if it's a PC keyboard) down as soon as you see the grey logo while the mini starts up. This should take you to a screen where it shows you any available boot volume (normally the internal drive and the optical if there's an install disc inserted - though in your case the internal drive won't appear if it was in the process of installing). If that screen comes up and the install disc shows, click on that and click on the arrow icon to complete booting to the installer. After that you can select the option button, select erase and install, and complete a reinstall of MacOS (the erase will be necessary because you may have damaged directories on the drive resulting from the power cut if the disc was being written.).
If the install disc doesn't show up in that screen, reboot the system, and hold the (left) mouse button down to try and eject the disc.

no they are already in mp3 format I just tried that home sharing today because I couldnt find any other reason why they werent syncing. here is an example of a sync I just tried. I made an mp4 concert into an mp3 it came out perfect on my computer.. then I tried to sync it to my ipad with no luck, other than it going on my computer, it did not show up anywhere on my ipad in any area of the music sections etc playlists, songs, albums etc. Its just not there but remains on my computer. thats why I tried the home share today to see if that would help. Either I am really missing something or there is something wrong with this ipad. My Notes no longer sync between my mac and iPhone. I have tried everything.

My notes used to sync between my phone and my mac until a week and a half ago when it all of a sudden stopped. I have done absolutely everything that I have seen given as rememdies to this and nothing is working. I am thinking it is an issue with the phone, not the laptop. What now?

I have gone to setting and tried to unmark and remark Notes within iCloud and within gmail and any other accounts I can. I have tried relogging in to all accounts that have Notes marked on both the phone and the computer. I have tried resetting the network connection. I have tried moving the notes on the computer from one account to another to see if that changes anything. I have tried plugging the phone into the laptop and resolving things that way.
I normally have synced through iCloud and also through gmail. My iCloud storage is nearly full but I didn't think that that would be one of the effecting factors?
I am all out of ideas. It just stopped all of a sudden?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. Put the ipod touch in recovery mode and then restored it, setting it up as a new Ipod, rather than restoring from the backup. Given how much trouble I'd had, I suspected that the backup might be corrupted anyway.
That seems to have resolved everything completely.

Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):

My apologies. Your post jogged my little grey cells to the point that I did a few experiments. In essence, you are right. My plug-ins do not work with 8-bit greyscale images. I like to deliberately shoot B&W and have a Wratten #12 minus-blue filter on the lens--as I used to do with film cameras.
The raw files ( Fujifilm's .RAF) were converted in Adobe CR by checking off "Convert to Grayscale" under the fourth tab. In the future, I will do the B&W conversion in Photoshop with either Nik or Topaz plug-ins.

You are referring to a feature called Clamshell Mode, please read Clamshell Mode setup for instructions.
BTW when posting when you use generalities such as "have tried everything" this tells us nothing. When posting please be specific and try to paint a complete picture. It just makes things easier for those trying to help you.

I'm getting the very common "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store" error when I try to download anything in the App Store. I have tried EVERYTHING to resolve it and nothing works.
Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Set Date&Time to 2013. Try App Store. Got error. Set Date&Time to auto again. DIDNT WORK.
2. Set Date&Time to 2030. Try App Store. Got error. Set Date&Time to auto again. DIDNT WORK.
3. Rebooted iPhone twice after resetting Date&Time. DIDNT WORK.
4. Signed out of iTunes/Apple ID account. DIDNT WORK. Worse, now iTunes won't even acknowledge my account and wont let me sign back in! DIDNT WORK.
I have tried everything every one has said worked for them. Nothing works for me.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I throw the phone out the window? God help me, if I'm forced to go to Windows 8, I'll cry.

Heavens no ... Don't do it!
There are a bunch of users posting about this problem right now. One might assume that there is something "hinky" going on with the Apple servers. There is one other thing that you can try, that you haven't already mentioned ... Don't know if it will work ... You may just have to wait this out until Apple fixes it but ....
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
More than likely, it is an Apple glitch, but give it a try.
