Mac mini client keeps loosing connection to OSX mac mini server...

The mac mini clients log into their home directories just fine... things are normal for a few hours then the opperator is unable to launch Google Chrome and or download anything... w/ error that says file too large need more disc space....
I then tell them to log off and then back on... then everything is fine again....    any reason the connection is being unstable?  wondering if IP conflicts can cause clients to get kicked off the network...  or mabe DNS Settings....   im stuck...
Settings are the same on 4 mac minis... and one Mac Pro...  The Mac Pro has not been kicked off the network....

  • WLC526 and two AP521 problem. Clients keep loose connectivity

I have a UC520 in a building with several IP phones.  We installed a WLC526 and two AP521's for seamless roaming of cordless phones.  THe phones work great with no issues.  When I am running a ping test on a wireless laptop, i keep loosing packets.  It looses connectivity randomnly.  DHCP is given via Windows 2008R2 server.  Have a cisco 2948 switch also in the mix.  THe AP's are connected directly to teh front of the UC520.  Is there something in the configuration I am missing?  Why do phones work perfectly and not data?

You do a ping from a laptop to another laptops?
The WLC and the APs you have are really old. It will not be strange if you find the client you are using having problem with the APs/WLC that you have.

  • Client keeps loosing connection

Our office have a client/computer dedicated to streaming internetradio, and that is all it does.
But for some reason, the client have alot of fall outs.
    We have 1 WLC 2504 and 2 AIR-LAP1041N-E-K9 (image 7.4.110.0)
The debug for the client (00:22:fa:b4:6b:20) + DHCP gives me this:

  • Got new ATV and all set up. It keeps loosing connection with iTunes on laptop and have tried everything suggested in set up guide. It works fine for a while then the iTunes account vanishes from 'computer' menu TV screen.  Full Wifi signal on both devices

Got new ATV and all set up. It keeps loosing connection with iTunes on laptop and have tried everything suggested in set up guide. It works fine for a while then the iTunes account vanishes from 'computer' menu TV screen.  Full Wifi signal on both devices so can't think what could be causing it to happen. Any suggestions please?

Sorry, I updated another thread I was a part of but didn't update my own thread.....ughhh!
I updated all of my ATV 2's and 3's to the latest firmware when it was released and have been problem free since. I do believe the major issue of not being able to connect after a period of inactivity has been corrected with the latest ATV firmware.
I can look at my network connection table using "netstat -an" in a CMD window and I do not see the massive number of connections I saw before the update.
Here is a link to the other thread I was referring to above:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19952545#19952545
Have you applied the latest firmware updates to your ATV 3's?

If it's an Apple mouse, make it "Favorite" in Bluetooth preferences.
If it's not, the same thing might help, too, but if the problem continues it could be a driver issue (possible incompatibility with your OS X version).

Are you losing the connection to iTunes on the iPad or the computer? You are saying that iTunes is updated. Of course iTunes is updated when you update the iOS software. That's a no brainer.
If you mean that iTunes is updated on the computer, that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with downloading and updating apps on the iPad itself so changing the date on the iPad, signing in and out of the stores on the iPad .... Doing any of that on the iPad would have nothing to do with iTunes on your computer.
If .... you have not been able to connect to the iTunes or app stores at all on the iPad - try this ...
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If you can't connect at all - you can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

  • Wireless client keep loosing IP address.

    Hi,
I am in hot water, i am not good with wireless i have wireless LAN in my network which is connected to wired network. the problem is my clients get connected to the network but suddently they loose connectivity and start dhcp request and get limited connecitivity with automatic ip address.
My network design is like this.
    1. I have a three floor building every floor has its own core and access layer and floors are connected layer 3 (not usual layer 2).
    2. Wireless Controllers 4402 are in layer 3 mode and are on ground floor and AP are everywhere in building.
    3. Wireless controllers are connected to ground floor core using a VLAN say VLAN 205 and AP's on ground floor and other floors are in different VLANs (physical connectivity of AP's).
    4. controllers are configured for two different VLAN's say VLAN 212 for data and VLAN 213 for voice.
    5. VLAN interface of the controller is configured with right helper address for DHCP.
My problem is i am a bit confused with the desigh of the network. As i mentioned all floors are connected layer 3 it means seperate VTP domain and seperate VLAN's, all APs on all floors are in differnt IP subnet respectively. but the wireless VLAN is common for all the users on all floors, this is the bit which confuses me alot. the wireless data VLAN has its own IP subnet which is advertised from gound floor only (make sense) but the users are not connecting to ground floor APs only they are connecting everywhere in the building. Users are getting IP address from the wireless VLAN range on every floor, can anybody explain me how they are getting communication because wireless subnet is only local to ground floor core not to first floor or second floor but some people are connecting to 1st floor and 2nd floor AP and are working fine.
The next pain is that my laptops started loosing IP address and they get automatic private IP address hence loose connectivity, the communication issue i referred above is secondary i am actually looking to rectify the ip address issue because users are having problem with it. Signal strength on every floor is perfect and coverage is ok, i have tried to debug dhcp detail packet but i don't receive any because controllers are in differnt VLAN for physical connectivity. Can somebody help me with this thing?
    Regards,

Your wireless clients will associate to the best AP interms of signal strenght and signal to noise etc.
There is an LWAPP tunnel between the access point and the controller.
At the controller there will be logical interfaces for the wireless LANS that are asssociated to specific VLANs on the wired network.
It doesn't matter where you are in the building as a client as its the controller that puts the client data onto the wired network.
All client data is tunneled between the access point and the controller.
With regard to the losing IP address situation. I assume that the clients do initially get an IP address and then lose it after a period of time.
Check the session timeout paramter on the controller (look on the WLAN-Advanced).
There is a bug with some versions of software relating to session timeouts. Try setting the timeout to 65535 seconds. The default setting is probably 30 minutes.

  • Airport express keeps loosing connection to Time Capsule

For several years I have had no issue with mt Airport Express staying connected to my Time Capsule/router. Now 2 of my Airport Expresses keep loosing the connection and flashing yellow. I have done the resets where I press in the little button on the bottom while plugging the AE back into the power source and reconnecting through Airport Utility and that will do the trick but after a short time the flashing yellow lights will go back on.
Would it help to turn off the router, rest all the AEs? It is so frustrating to keep loosing the connection and nothing else has changed; e.g. the AEs are all in the same place.

Same thing here! I didnt have the problem with airport express until I update the os from 10.6.2 to 10.6.6. I have been calling the apple support and they couldnt help (or thou sounded like they knew for that particular problem). I got from my work MacBookPro and same thing happen. I hope that apple will read this and just want to tell them that this is my 10 computer made by apple and God knows the last one! First of all they made the the fireware with the bad chipsets so I have to but extra cards and then airport. I cant connect at all to any wifi and have to put the cables on the floor from the wifi router to the ethernet input which is more than 10 metres. Apple sort this asap!!!!!!!!!!

  • Browsers and Mail keep loosing connection and reconnecting randomly.

Connected to a wifi network that has always worked fine.
    Only change is Yosimite upgrade.
Browsers intermittently report no network connection, then make connection seemingly randomly.
Mail keeps taking accounts off line in spite of always being connected.
I do have 16 gigs of ram.
Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix?

The only change has been switching to Yosimite.
The wireless diagnostic says "Basic failure..." contact apple support.
Other devices and computers are connected to same wifi without a problem.
The wifi network is not the issue, something has changed in how the OS is connecting.
The browsers, (Safari and Firefox) will loose connection and say not connected to internet from onwe moment to the next.
A page can be refreshed then a new will report that I am not connected to internet, then after a few attempts to try again, it works.
Mail also seems to loose connection and asking if I want to connect.
The wireless and mail and all browsers have worked with out a problem for years.

  • Keep loosing connectivity to ONS15454-E

    Hi there...
My computer keeps loosing the connection to the nodes in CTC, both the local node and the remote node.
I'm using JRE version 1.6.0_07 and CTC is version 8.5.1.
    Anyone who has any ideas?

I had same problem ... in my case I used the following solution:
    It's a network problem.
You have a firewall into your network.
You need to go from CTC on network parameters (provisioning --> network) and setup:
    Enable SOKCS proxy
    SOCKS proxy only.
This should work, but take care about your network topology.
E.G.: if you have some other host NOT 15454 connected to your network it's possible that you lost them.
So try it ... maybe, it will solve your problem ... Regards Radim

  • Users on Win7 Clients intermittently loose connection to home folder

My environment consists of 2003/2008R2 DCs, Win7 client machines, and a 2008R2 file server which holds the shared folder for users' home folders. DFL/FFL is 2003.
Sometimes I have this strange occurence where users loose connection to certain folders in their home folder. They can connect to other shared folders on the same file server just fine, but can not connect to their home folder. The home folder is
connected to a user specific folder, under a shared folder (\\fileserver\users$\username). This is defined in the user object in AD. All other network drives are connected through GPO preferences .
Three folders have been redirected to the users' home folder; My Documents, Desktop and Favorites through GPO. And I think this is what might be causing the issue. As all GPO redirected folders are automatically made available offline.
The problem occurs for different users each time, and the problem can only be fixed by restarting the client machine.
    Anyone ever experienced this issue?

First thing, i would ensure system is running with latest patches, service packs, firmware, bios and drivers. Verify antivirus software, may be this can be the culprit which is locking the file during scan. Disconnect the drive & reconnect it back for
one of the user. Ensure DNS is correctly defined in the NIC.
If nothing works, try to use wireshark or netmon to capture the packet to find out where exactly the drop happening can be due to high latency, packet drop etc.
You can try one more thing, if possible have a fresh system & see if it happens on that system too.

    e-print connection won't stay
    This question was solved.

Hello , There are 2 reasons for "loosing connection to e-print" . 1> e-print requires active Internet connection : Please check with your ISP and see if there are any internet issues at their end or with your wireless network. 2> e-print servers do undergo maintenance during which there could be a non availability of e-print services. Why a magic mouse divours batteries? Why does it loose connection evey few minutes? Can I have it replaced?
    <Edited By Host>

    Hello again,
Just idly thinking about your post mentioning you had only had it for 4 or 5 days. Such a problem rarely gets better with time, were you suggesting you hoped it would improve, in other words?
I can see you are now aware of the packing option but if you are using Apple, Duracell or Energiser batteries packing it out should not be necessary.   Any other batteries I cannot speak for.
One buys Apple because of its' reputation against other products; you will be helping to maintain that by asking for an exchange.   You will feel better for it, and speak better of it.
Forgive me if the opinion is a touch biased; I've been very lucky with my iMac purchase and the only exchange I ever made only enhanced my view of Apple; it went so smoothly.
    Thank you for the star.
