Mac mini doesn't have preinstalled apps?
according to this link:

a mac mini is supposed to have a number of apps preinstalled. From that link all I have is Safari, Mail and Books. When I go to the app store most of them cost $$. I had posted about this earlier but apparently the thread closes if you hit "solved my problem." I guess I jumped the gun on that. Is there any way to get those apps from the store without paying for them (if indeed they are supposed to be on the mini).

When did you purchase the Mini?
Some app like iWorks were only free for computers first activated after about Oct 2013.
Also, have yo sent to the Mac App Store and singed into the account that yo used to initially set up the Mini and then go to the Purchased section?

You appear to be confusing Macs and iOS devices. The Mac mini does not run on iOS 4, if new, it has Mac OS X 10.6.x Snow Leopard.
You should sort out the profile that you show so we know what devices you have with which proper OS and then be much more explicit about what the problem is. -

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there, some things will change it for their own use, then not set it back. -
Mac Mini doesn't have a cd/dvd drive. How can I load an application from a cd?
When I bought a Mac Mini I was told that I could download form a cd/dvd on a pc that was in close location to the Mac. How do I do that? Can't seem to find any instructions.

I'd maybe try doing a search for Safari on your iPad first (swipe to the left to search). If it shows up in that search you can go to Settings > General > Reset and choose 'reset home screen layout' which will put it back where it would be by default.
All else fails? Restore it. -
My HP (USB connected) and Epson (wireless) printers keep losing their connection with my Mac mini. I have to physically disconnect the HP and then reconnect for the Mac to find it. Turning off the wireless Epson doesn't resolve anything. All software/drivers have been updated.

My Mac Mini doesn't recognize my Avengers DVD--it keeps saying "Supported disc not available." I've tried other DVD's which work, but not this one. itunes and everything else has been updated to the newest versions. Help? Also...It doesn't recognize the digital copy DVD.
I have ALL the exact same symptoms as on my home computer.
It sure sounds to me like something on the iPod is broken. If it's under warranty then I would send it back for repair. If not, check out some of the web repair services, such as iPodResQ etc. -

Not only has Brutus spared the SuperDrives in both my 2006 iMac and 2010 Mac Mini, but he runs circles around the SuperDrives when it come to burning, importing, playing, even booting from System Install and Upgrade Disc's.
Other External DVD Drives that are highly reccommended here in the forums, are:

My 2009 Mac mini doesn't boot anymore : all I get is a blank screen, I can't even chose to boot on the restoration drive.
From your experience, what do you think it could be linked with ? motherboard ? RAM ? It doesn't looke like a hard drive issue.

BenoîtHello! I'm having, what sounds like, the same issue. Everything was working fine, until I ran a combined update, as prompted, for 10.8.2. After the normal reboot, the computer boots to a plain, white screen with no Apple. The computer is not responding to any keyboard command at startup, be it any of the reset commands, 'C' to boot to the optical drive, or option to select the startup destination. When pressing the Caps/Num lock keys, I notice that none of the LED lights will turn on on the keyboard. The piggybacked optical mouse is not showing it's red light from the bottom either. These tested fine on my MacBook Pro, however, and have always worked with the Mac Mini. Connecting and reconnecting the devices does not help. I know how to run all of the hard disk repairs, the permission fixes, etc., but it appears as though something is stopping my USB devices from being utilized (or even powered) at startup. I work in IT, and I support Apple computers every day (point being, I do know my stuff).
I opened the case and disconnected the hard drive from the logic board, thinking a potential hard disk issue is to blame. Upon restart, I still get the BONG (chime), but the machine will still not respond to any keyboard commands. Plugging in a USB stick that was created as a Mountain Lion boot device in Disk Utility with the InstallESD.dmg doesn't yield any results (as I am unable to 'tell' the computer to boot from it). The system disc that was packaged with the Mini is in the optical drive, but the Mini won't boot to that either. I'm at a complete loss. This is a 2010 model which was purchased new in December in that year. I'm using HDMI directly to an HDTV. The cable is working, the TV is working, the optical drive works in another machine, and the hard disc makes the necessary sounds (but not anything out of the ordinary).
To reiterate, this happened IMMEDIATELY after installing the combined 10.8.2 update. I am seeing a lot of posts about this issue, but no actual solutions. The dialogue seems to die somewhere after, "Reset the PRAM."

I have a Mac Mini that I have purchased OS X Lion for and I have a Mac Book that I want to update to Mountain Lion, but it still has Leopard running on it so I have to get Lion before I can upgrade to Mountain Lion. The question is since I already bought Lion for my Mac Mini can I download it to my Mac Book without paying again.
By opening the Mac App Store, logging in with an Apple ID used to purchase it, clicking on the Purchases tab, and downloading it from there.

Just bought Samsung S22B310B computer monitor and hooked it up to my mac mini. I have my mac set to the 1920X1080 resolution but the entire screen (21.5") is not filled. How do fill the screen? it fills the screen on other resolution settings. I have it hooked up regularly and not to the DVI hook up. I'm not a computer savvy person please help!
That monitor supports both (digital) DVI and (analog) VGA connections, so you should not need a converter or use a different adapter.
You should use the Apple Supplied HDMI to DVI Adapter and a (digital) DVI cable to the monitor. -

My 3 external hd's are 500GB (total 1.5TB) and my Mac Mini is 500GB (Time Capsule is connected to this). I want to be able to have all the content from all these sources stored on my Time Capsule as if I only had 1 external drive. Is this possible? It is my understanding that when Time Machine backs up my Mac Mini I have to have my external drives connected since my Mac Mini does not have enough space on it to hold all the content on the exgternal hd's. I can only connect 1 external hard drive at a time and I want to get rid of them and consolidate.
And having to go back in time to search for files on 1 external hard drive and then back in time for the other external hard drive is not the most efficient thing to do. I would like it all in one place.

Since my G5 died I was thinking about getting a Mac Mini, but I have a ViewSonic Monitor (from 2004) and a USB keyboard and mouse - I also have the external drive that I downloaded my files on to. Do you think the monitor, keyboard and mouse will work on it? Would I have to get a hub so I could use the stuff I already have? Is that viewsonic too old to work on it?
What else would I need? Please advise...Yes for keyboard and mouse.
The monitor will work if it has an HDMI, VGA ir DVI input. If it only has a VGA input you will need this adopter
