Mac Mini no longer prints A3 size...

Hello,
I have an issue with a Mac Mini and a Canon 1100 Lazer printer...
I upgraded the operating system from 10.3.7 > 10.3.9. The Mini no longer prints to A3 size.
I have done all the usual maintenance. Deleted all the usual plist files. Still no go.
What did I miss please?
Cheers
Ian

No more problems.
Re- Installed printer driver. It now works.

  • Mac mini no longer pairs with blutooth keyboard

    Hi,
I never have had issues with the nre Mac Mini I bought. It is only 2 months old now. Last week when I turned on my Mac Mini, the keyboard no longer is recognized. I have tried to switch batteries, restart the computer but no matter what I do, it just wont recognize the keyboard. It doesnt even come up on the discoverable list.
The keyboard has a green llight when I activate the power button, so its not the keyboard issue. I have paired it with my laptop just to see if its the keyboard issue.
The Mac Mini can pair with my macbook pro, and my magic mouse.
Is there something I can do to make it work again? thanks!

I figured it out. By deleting all the seached keyboards on all my macs I was able to then find it on the Mac Mini.

  • My Mac mini no longer detects my monitor resolution

My Mac Mini has stopped being able to detect the resolution of my monitor, which is a 1680x1050 Acer widescreen.  1680x1050 is also no longer a choice of resolutions under 'Displays' in 'System Preferences' so I cannot select my monitor resolution manually.  I suspect that there is a bug somewhere in a recent update which has broken support for my monitor.  Is there an official channel by which I can report this bug?  Has it been reported already?  Is there an ETA on a fix?  This renders my Mac more or less unusable.

It's unlikely that the upgrades had anything to do with the problem, slim superdrives are just not all that reliable.
You might try a few tricks before taking it in for service or springing for a Mac compatable external DVD drive.
    1. Reset the SMC > Resetting the System Management Controller
    2. Reset the PRAM > Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    3. Clean it, for example with a > Memorex OptiDisc CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner

  • Need Help - Mac Mini no longer works with LG Television

Sometime ago (maybe about two months), my Mac Mini quit working with my LG Plasma HD TV. Currently, when I try to use the Mac Mini with the television, the screen displays a "no signal" message.
The Mac Mini is a one year old Intel Core Duo and is connected using a DVI to HDMI cable.
    I've troubleshooted:
    1. Connected the Mac Mini to our 42" Sharp Aquous LCD - it displays fine.
    2. Taken the Mac Mini to the Genius bar. It displayed on the genius' Apple display w/no probs.
    Since then, I've tried:
    1. Reinstalled/rolled back to Leopard DVDs (no updates applied) - No luck
    2. "Driving" the Mac Mini via Screen Sharing using my MacBook and monkeying with the Display preference pane. While screen sharing, I tried using SwitchResX, too (not too certain of the settings though) - No luck.
    Of note:
    1. Before the trouble began, I was pleasantly surprised to see "LG" (automatically) listed as the display in the Display preference panel. Support was literally plug and play. Currently, when I drive via Screen Sharing, "LG" is no longer listed. Alternatively, when I connect to the Sharp Aquous, the Display preference panel DOES list "Sharp" as the display.
    Any ideas?

I'd be interested in any resolution here. Here's my story:
I have a Mac Mini model MA723LL/A and a Haier P42LV6-T1 42" HDTV plasma with VGA and HDMI inputs. I first attempted to hook the Mac to the plasma TV using the DVI->VGA adapter that came with the Mac. I got no image at all on the TV, and the TV claimed 'No Signal'.
Then I used a DVI->HDMI adapter, and hooked the Mac to the TV thru the HDMI port. I got a picture and was happy. I setup iTunes, got the wireless working, surfed the web a bit and all was OK except the resolution seemed wonky. So I opened the Mac's settings panel to adjust the resolution, and as soon as I opened the settings panel, the screen went blank, with the TV claiming 'No Signal'. I shut off the Mac and rebooted, and from that point forward, what happens is this:
    press On Button->
    Apple Boot Screen->
    MacOS 10 loading->
    desktop For About 1 millisecond->
screen goes blank with TV claiming 'No Signal'
I hooked the Mac to my Dell 20" LCD monitor thru the monitor's DVI input and got a great picture. I tested all the resolution settings, and everything was fine. I have tested the Mac on the TV with all available resolution settings and it's always the same story (see above for sequence)
I'm kinda at the end of my rope. The Mac seems to be changing something on its video output at the end of its bootup, but I have no clue what. Has anyone seen anything like this? Any advice at all?

  • Mac Mini won't print via ethernet cable connected to airport extreme

Hi. Thanks for your input in advance. Am about to start throwing things around. I have an Airport Extreme based network which is working fine. The printer is a new HP L7590 which connects to the network with a USB cable connection to the Airport Extreme. Those with laptops and wireless cards are able to print no problem. However my Mac Mini, a 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 is connected to the printer using a ethernet cable connected to the Airport Extreme. All was working perfectly until I upgraded from Panther to Tiger. I am now running 10.4.11. Now the Mini will not print. The jobs keep stopping. I have removed the printer and try to add it again. The print browser page finds the printer okay and lists it as connecting via Bonjour, but when you tell it to add it, it starts 'searching for new drivers' and then 'gathering printer information' and then it stops responding and I have to force quit it. Any suggestions?? I have already tried all the online mac help suggestions.

Actually it transpires that the G4 laptops are not printing either now.

  • New Mac Mini won't print on Kodak AIO 7

We bought a new Mini yesterday and I've already run into a problem. Although my Mac recognizes my Kodak AIO 7 printer and I've been able to wireless scan from it to the Mac, I can't print from the Mini to the AIO. I get an error message that says that it can't connect to the print.
It's odd and I haven't been able to find a fix. Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Have you updated drivers and printer firmware from http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=1 3657/13660&product=EKN035329&operatingSystem=macos_x_10_6x (assuming your Kodak AIO 7 is the same as the Kodak ESP 7, which is an AIO)

  • Mac mini and Xerox printer issue

Hi! I recently bought a Mac mini (late 2012 edition), running OS X 10.8.6.
Everything was running smoothly (NTFS compatibility, ability to play media files, office suite etc etc) until I had to use the printer.
I have a Xerox Phaser 3160b. Several days before migrating to Mac OS I downloaded these drivers from the Xerox website, thinking there will no problems at all.
Today, I tried to print a page. A blank page was printed, with traces of ink on it. I could hear the drum spinning, meaning that it actually was working. I got worried that the printer might get broken, so I switched it off.
When trying to print using Windows 15 minutes later, there was no problem with the 3160b - worked like a charm.
To summarize - the printer is being recognized by the OS X, it does follow the Print command when clicking the Print button in Word, printing starts ... but the pages are blank with traces of the drum. I reckon it might need a specific software tweak I'm not aware of.
    Any ideas?

Updating the OS is only likely to fix the problem, if it overwrites a specific corrupt file, or eliminates one that is unnecessary.  The odds of that happening are slim to  none.  Has it ever behaved before under 10.8.3?

  • Mac mini dell 968 printer

hi anyone know how to get this printer to work with my new mac mini, i turn it on it doesn't show in my printers

It appears that your Dell 968 printer may be a re-badged Lexmark 9500, which is supported by Snow Leopard.
    See these links:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1907829&tstart=30
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#lexmark
Basically it appears that you need download no drivers, but instead you need to tell System Preferences > Print & Fax that you have a Lexmark 9500, rather than a Dell. (I can't test this out, so your mileage may vary.)

  • Help getting mac mini and canon printer set up on network

    Hello,
I have a Canon pixma ip4000 printer and mac mini 1.66 duo OSX 10.4. Trying to get these to print on a network.
Canon was originally hooked up to a windows xp pro box, but mac wouldn't print to it.
Bought a print server (buffalo lpv3-u2) and can't get it to work either. Whether I connect through bonjour or apple talk, I can see and connect to the printer, but either the job just sits in the queue "ready to print," or, more often, soon after starting the job it gets stopped. Restarting it means it just gets stopped again.
I have tried canon drivers, guten-print, and printfab. None work.
Printer works just fine if it's connected directly to the mac.
Windows PC's print to printer through the print server just fine. Why won't the mac "just work?"
It seems like it would be more economical just to buy another printer for the mac and be left wondering why the mac wouldn't play nice with others.
    Oh, well,
Thanks for any help you can offer!!
    David

I'm surprised you manage to get any print via the print server. I previously tested a Netgear and D-Link print server connected to a Canon iP6000D and couldn't get the Canon drivers to work. The only option was to use Gutenprint, and at the time there was no iP models so the S800 was the best compromise. The only 'print server' I found that would work with the Canon drivers was an Airport Extreme Base Station, which I am still using to this day.
Re the quirky, this is not just a Canon issue, other vendors have the same issue when you configure the printer the way you have. The way to avoid it is to purchase the right product for the job - finding what is right is often the problem. For the record, Canon makes a number of BJ and Laser printers with wired, and in some cases wireless, network support. These devices therefore have drivers that have been designed to work on a network, unlike the drivers you currently have. At work I have an iP5200R, which I connect to from XP using Ethernet, and I also connect to with my MacBook Pro using Airport (wireless). No driver connection issues, full driver support with status feedback and no need to have the XP PC on in order to print.

  • 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 on mac mini no longer needed as a server

I have a ML capable mac mini server that I don't use as a server right now, it's basically a family machine with multiple users.  I just turned off the server features under 10.6.8--now I am forced to move to the "cloud" I have  MBP and imac that are running 10.8.2.  I downloaded ML to the mini server, but if I am not going to use the server features, to I need to bother downloading os x server to put on top of it, or can I simply run it without the ML server download added?

Glad to have clarified things, I you do want to experiment though, it's nice to know that the new server application is no more expensive than 30 dollars - a huge contrast compared to Snow Leopard Server.

  • Mac Mini no longer detects widescreen VGA displays since last update, can I force 1440x900 somehow?

I connect my intel mac mini to my widescreen monitor through a mini dvi to vga adapter, bought at an apple store. This use to show correct diplay settings and I used 1440x900. About a month ago there was an update and now I cant see the option for 1440x900  any more. The display is all stretched and ugly. I tried the monitor off of my PC, a new samsung and the mini will not recognise that either over the vga adapter. I have tried a new adapter and that did not work either.
Is there anyway I can turn off the autodetect and just set the resolution. I have heard of some shareware program but I do not want to use it. I don't really trust downloading applications from websites.

Trev, I thought you had already updated to Lion. So 10.6.8 did that?
I'd suggest you do not  upgrade to Lion till 10.7.1 or 10.7.2 is out fixing graphics driver bugs and other reported ailments.
Are you still under warranty with your system? Or have extended AppleCare?
I am not sure Apple is giving 10.6.9 any priority ... It might be worth calling.
SwitchResX is a reputable program that has been around for a while. Many have used it in the past when OSX wasn't that good at detecting external monitors & TV resolutions. I would give it a whirl. It has a two week free demo.

  • Mac Mini no longer able to display full screen on TV display.

I had my mac mini set up correctly with my Samsung 50" tv - using the "Best for display" option within system preferences - Display.  I left the computer on overnight and in the morning the screen was messed up.  Now I can only see the full screen, with menu bars at the top of the display, if i set preferences with the lowest available resoltion of 720p and using the Underscan option too. Any advice on what went wrong and how to get back to the best setting?

    Hey there Slackbast,
It sounds like you are having some graphical issues when you have a TV connected to your Mac Mini, but it used to work fine. I recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
If more than one video adapter is in use (or "daisy-chained"), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
Reset the systemYou can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolutionStart by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Mac mini no longer connects to external monitor

I had my mac mini connected to a LG HDTV and it worked great up until recently. When I know go to the external connection it says "signal not found". I then tried to connect it to the monitor on my desktop and that doesn't work either. I'm guessing then that it's a video card issue, however, when I tried screen sharing through the network I could not find the mac mini on the network either. If anyone has any suggestions of how to proceed, I'd greatly appreciate.
    Much thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion - I have thought about it. However, it shouldn't be this difficult. For some reason, the Mini does not see the AEBSn by ethernet and I have no idea how to force it to do so. I've rebooted the computer twice, but to no avail. If I turn on its Airport, it connects to my AEBSn wirelessly. But this computer streams 720 content to my Apple TV and I need that ethernet connection to work for satisfactory streaming.
