Mac mini panne carte graphique

Bonsoir,
Depuis hier, aucun signal ne passe entre mon MAC Mini Server et ma Télé en Full HD. La liaison est effectuée par câble HDMI. La panne a été brusque, le Mac Mini a un mois environ.
Le seul moyen d'atteindre le MAC est de passer par la fonction de partage d'écran depuis un autre MAC.
Symptome observé : dans les préférences de Moniteur seules les résolutions :
1680x1050
1280x1024
1024x768
800x600 sont proposées
et l'onglet couleur est passé en sRGB IEC61966-2,1
Par exemple, l'option 1080p a disparu...
Cette restriction me fait penser à un problème matériel sur la carte graphique, mais je n'ai trouvé aucun outil dans le système pour tester cette carte.
Toute aide ou conseil est bienvenu...

En faite ton problème est simple. Le port numérique HDMI du Mac mini n'a pas le transcodeur nécessaire pour fonctionner avec un écran analogique (VGA et Peritel). Ce qu'il faut c'est un adaptateur Mini displayport vers VGA (à acheter sur Appstore ou Fnac ou autre...) , que l'on branche sur le port thunderbolt du Mac mini et directement à l'écran en VGA. Le signal est ainsi transcodé comme il faut.

  • Need Help Deciding on a MAC Mini

    Hi All,
    Quick question for the experts here, because, I am actually torn right now on spending some money for a new Mini.
    I am currently using a 2006 iMac, 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 DUO with an ATI Radeon X1600.
    I do movie converting, HD TV streaming (Eye TV 250+) unit, some web surfing, Music conversions, and, stream Audio.Video from my iMac to my iPhone/iPad when I'm away from my house and Garageband Recording (usually an 8 to 10 track recording)
    all seems to work well, but, within the last year, even after a full reinstall of OS X, things are starting to bog down. I am running Lion on it now, and, for the most part, it's "OK", but, I kinda think it could be a little snappier and a little faster.
    So, I'm looking at buying the i7 MAC Mini.
    My question is, will this be a step forward, or, is my iMac a little better? (I don't know. this might be a stupid question). Basically, will I notice a HUGE improvement.
    As I type this, I have the MINI in my shopping cart and I am approved for the 1 year finance plan. All I need to do is click "Purchase", but, I wanted to get some opinions on this before going ahead with it.
    Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated 

    Yes. I have a monitor ready for it. I also have an external CD/DVD Drive as the internal in my iMac hasn't been too reliable lately.
    I agree about the price of apple's memory. What I did was, as soon as I ordered the Mini (Yes, I went ahead and ordered it. i couldn't wait any longer), I went to the crucial website and got an 8gb memeory kit for $37.00, so, I was pretty happy about that

  • New Mac Mini as dedicated capture/compression unit

    I'm in what seems to be a bit of a pickle.
    I work for a University (requires purchasing Academic software) and will be upgrading our video suite with two more computers very soon. Right now I'm running a Quad 2.5GHz G5 with Final Cut Studio 1 and will be adding a new MacPro (to replace our much older second editor) and Mac Mini (dedicated video capture and DVD compression) to the mix. Ideally, the plan would be to run/upgrade both towers to Final Cut Studio 2 and Leopard, and install Final Cut Studio 1 onto the new Mini. Unfortunately, I have FCP 5.0.4 and have read that is not compatible with Leopard/Intel.
    Besides purchasing a third Final Cut Studio 2 (and basically throwing away my copy of FCS1) is there another way to capture and compress (using Compressor) with the Mini? I not sure that capturing footage and making DVDs a bit easier will be worth the extra $700. I guess the other option would be leaving FCS1 on the G5 and running current versions on the new Intel machines.

    I know a video production company brings with a mini on their live switching cart, and I thought that they used that for live ingest from their mixer so that they could immediately show the perspective buyers what they had JUST shot. But they also did LiveType titles, so the mini may have just been feeding the titles to the switcher, I can't remember anymore. One thing you forgot to mention was how or what you'd be capturing, and why you'd need to capture on a separate machine. However, it seems like your choice of only using towers is the way to go, and you can still use 5.0.1 on the headless G5, so that's all good at least.

  • Mac Mini & al browsers and apple alias/discussions

    I tried to sign up for mac mini discussions on my mac mini that is having problems. It would not let me sign up and kept telling me that my alias was wrong. So I signed up on my lap top , but the mini still doesn't see me as a user in these discussions. Also everytime I order something through Safari, the last item is the only one in the e-cart. It will not keep track of all the items and the amount $ ordered. Am wondering if I have a problem with other software, as Safari worked fine last month and probably two weeks ago. What do yiu think I should do to get Safari, or any other browser, to work again? Is it the Mac Mini?

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
    You might want to clear your Safari cache (click Safari and empty cache).
    If that doesn't help, then reset Safari (click Safari and reset safari).
    If that doesn't help, quit Safari, and delete com.apple.safari.plist in your library/preferences. Sometimes this file becomes corrupt and can cause odd behaviours. Deleting this file will delete any Safari preferences you've previously defined.
    If still having problems, consider Firefox, which is what I use. You can get it at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ or Opera is another browser which can be found at http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=mac . Or you can try the new Safari 3 beta, which is at http://www.apple.com/safari/

  • Fresh Home Server, Mac Mini 2014 or older?

    Hello Again,
    I read all discussions dot apple dot com server posts title since friday's announcements on ac Mini and searched too on top of web searching reviews, but I wanted to hear from you gals and guys.
    I do not do Big Photos or Movie professionally, just Apple Deployment of carts, apps and books.
    I want a Mac Mini to mostly practice Yosemite Server and some newer devices.
    For a simple Home Server with only few devices, would it be better to get the previous refurbed Mac Mini and throw on Server 4.0?

    Server really doesn't put much of a load on the machine.  I have it running on a Mini from 2010, and it's working just fine.  You could get a refurb and it'll do the job.
    Most of Server's features are low demand on RAM and CPU.  Networking is where it feels the most strain if you are moving a lot of files or using it as a proxy.  If you're just using file services, Xcode, DNS, and Mail, a Core2Duo with 4GB RAM can easily handle the load.

  • Mac Mini keeps freezing up

    I have a newer mac mini about 5 months old with a 2.7 GHZ intel Core i7 processor with 8GB memory, Graphic card is AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB, soft ware is OS X lion 10.7.7, also using Adobe CS6 and microsofte office for mac. It seems when I start using Adobe Illustrator is when I have the problems, after awhile using Illustrator my mac will freez, cant do anything, force quite Illustrator and then my mac wont shut down after closing all applications just a white screen with the pointer, I have taking this back to a athorized mac dealer where I bought it and they did a clean install of the mac system software, I reinstalled all my software and stll get the same thing...any ideas? I just wonder if the processor can hadel all the software I do usually have CS6 open and outlook, also my mac mini does get very warm?

    Comme je te l'ai dit le travail à l'écran ne dépend pas uniquement d'une config puissante mais d'une config adaptée à ce que tu veux faire et/ou adaptée aux logiciels que tu souhaites utiliser. Je pense que ma config est plus "puissante que la tienne et pourtant pour faire le rendu d'une animation de 8 sec d'un paysage 3D avec vue Xstream en 720p cela me prend entre 31 ou 25 heures selon que je fais le rendu après une journée de travail ou juste après un démarrage du PC. Je n'incrimine pas pour autant le logiciel!
    Comme je ne suis ni expert Adobe, ni expert Mac ou PC ni en rien d'autre d'ailleurs,je ne peux parler que de ma propre expérience aussi petite soit-elle. Mac ou PC? chacun a ses avantages et ses inconvénients et en matière de 3D pour un prix abordable (hobbyist), je ne crois pas que Mac soit supérieur actuellement (Adorateurs de la pomme, ne me tuez pas ;0).

    En tout cas je ne te conseille pas d'abandonner AE pour un autre logiciel, je dis simplement que si tu souhaites utiliser le lancer de rayon avec AE, tu dois adapter ta carte graphique. Comme je te l'ai dit, j'ai une carte graphique adaptée et j'utilise rarement le lancer de rayon (E3D est un plugin pour AE qui n'utilise pas le lancer de rayon d'AE : VIDEO COPILOT | Element 3D - 3D Object based Particle Plug-in).

    Has a hyper-intelligent mega being out there in Apple-land worked out a software patch to expand the memory capacity of the Graphics Card into normal RAM? After all the standard 64k is listed as "shared" memory, so could it be coaxed to grab a larger slice of the RAM cake?

    I belive this would be in the same vein of folks who want to manually control the use of Virtual Memory in Mac OS X. In six years, no one's been able to engineer that feat.
    My suggestion would be to buy a Mac that already meets your minimum requirements for your software.

    Hope it isnt a problem posting a similar thread as on the older mini pages...
    I am dying to get a mac mini refurb.
    I thought I had snagged one on the AppleStore refurb pages but until you have it in the shopping cart and see a confirm purchase it can go byebye. I fumbled getting my credit card and UGH!!!
    Anyone know of another source for refurb minis than the apple store?
    btw, what are the minimum specs I need of a mini to use the 20" AppleCinema Display LCD (model # A1081) that has been sitting around waiting for its mini mate!

    The base model should be fine. And it should ship with an Apple min-DVI to DVI adapter, so you should be plug & play!

    I bought a Mac Mini (May 2009) and this Mini-DVI to Video adapter with plans to use it to send an S-video signal to an analog TV. Though the sales staff at the Apple store said it should work, it does not. The graphics card apparently should support it, and it may be addressed with a future driver update, but as of now this does not work. I have used a mini-DVI to VGA adapter and monitor to verify that the port is working, and also verified that the S-video cable and TV input work. There are third party VGA to S-video/RCA adapters available so I plan to use one of those for my purposes. This is probably a 5-star product when used with the right Mac; however, Apple should have made it clear that having a mini-DVI port on your Mac is necessary but not sufficient for this to work - hence the 3 stars.

  • Install Windows 8.1 Pro on Mac Mini Late 2014

    I'm trying to install Bootcamp on my Mac Mini.  Windows reports that it cannot install or create a partition on the drive after formatting the BOOTCAMP partition as NTFS.
    This is my setup:
    1. Mac Mini Late 2014 with 2TB Fusion Drive.
    2. Windows 8.1 Pro x64 full version ISO downloaded from Microsoft Store.
    3. Sandisk Extreme Flash Drive (I have tried both 16GB and 64GB).
    4. Bootcamp partition = 500GB.
    5. Other USB devices plugged in: Corded USB Mouse and Apple Extended Keyboard (both of which are required to enter the serial number and navigate the installer window).
    6. No additional storage devices of any kind are connected aside from the internal Fusion drive and the installer drive.
    7. Booting from the EFI portion of the Bootcamp created Windows installer.
    I have read that I should try using a USB 2 flash drive rather than a USB 3 flash drive, so I will try that next.  I fail to understand how this could make any difference.
    If you have any other tips, please let me know.
    I have installed or helped other people install bootcamp many times over the course of the past 2 years.  Every single time it has caused endless headaches and literally weeks of wasted time.
    I have read endless posts on what is causing these problems.  I will consider summarising these for anyone else having the same problems.  Everyone has their theory so far about this Bootcamp nightmare, but so far there doesn't appear to be any one magic solution.
    Apple's inability to address the issue suggests that the problem may be with the Windows installer.  Perhaps Microsoft is deliberately causing this?
    I suspect the two most likely causes of these issues are the downloaded ISO or the Thumb Drive.
    If you have any better idea, please let me know.
    On another topic, how to I rename the NTFS partition back to BOOTCAMP?  All options to rename this partition are greyed out in Disk Utility...

    The FAT32/NTFS partition is usually not adequate for an EFI install. You can delete the BCA-created partition and create a Disk Utility partition which is formatted as Free Space.     Windows installers up to W8.1 do not have USB3 drivers. These are installed after Windows is installed and BC drivers are in place.

    The requirements are pretty strict when installing Windows. Any deviations cause headaches and grief.
    I suspect the two most likely causes of these issues are the downloaded ISO or the Thumb Drive.

    After Windows is fully installed and BC drivers are in place, log into Windows, right click on it and rename it on the Windows side. It cannot be renamed on the OSX side with diskutil renameVolume. Here is an example sequence. You cannot rename volume during the installation process.

    I have a 2010 Mac Mini server running 10.8.4 (12E55).  I just bought a brand new copy of Windows 8 from micrsoft.  I have tried using boot camp and it will not recognize a burned DVD in my remote optical drive on my laptop running windows 7 or my macbook running Lion 10.7.5.   I have had Microsoft on both of my computers remoted in for about 8 hours and they tried just about everything that I've tried.
    Microsofts tech support has made me a bootable DVD and a bootable Flash Drive through remote desktop (awsome good job microsoft tech support).  I have even tried formatting my mac mini's second 500GB hard drive to FAT32 using this whole disc as my windows partition.  I know that when I go to install windows 8 it is going to reformat the drive to NTFS but all the articles that I've found, say this is what you have to do to get the drive formatted properly to get the ball rolling and get windows will fix it when it goes to install by reformatting to NTFS. 
    Ok so right now I have my second 500GB hdd on my mac mini formatted to FAT32 and I have tried to reboot holding my option key like I do on my mac book.  If I want to boot to a different hdd on my macbook all I do is hold the OPTION key during start up and you get prompted to choose one of the bootable disc that is on your computer.  Well if I put my USB drive which is bootable on my macbook into my macbook and do this right now its not showing up. 
    Now I just put the DVD that they made me in my macbook and it shows up as bootable disc.  But the USB doesn't.  (1 hour later)  I just got microsft to remake the USB drive and am going to try that again so ta ta for now and I'll come back on to post to tell you if it works.

    Parallels, Fusion, and VirtualBox are available from their respective sites. Read their installation instructions which explain how to install Windows.

  • Mac Mini '09 incompatible with older flat panel TV's?

    I just bought a Mac Mini '09 and tried to hook it up to an old (2002) Sony Plasma 32" TV. I am using the mini-DVI to S-video/composite video adapter. I get a "no signal" response from the TV, indicating that the Mini and the TV are not communicating. My black '06 MacBook is able to successfully connect to the Sony TV using the exact same adapter and cable combination. The TV only has component video, s-video, and composite video inputs -- no digital inputs.
    I spoke with an Apple Care person, and she and I agreed that there is likely a compatibility issue with the new Mac Mini's video card and older TV's. I have also seen it suggested that the new Mini's DVI port will not pass on an analog video signal. Is there any fix for this, either a driver or a cable adapter? Would one of the display manager programs (SwitchResX, etc.) be helpful? Do I need to get a new TV?

    It sounds like the new Mac Mini has HDCP enabled (as it is on the new MacBooks and MacBook Pros).
    This is a kind of copy protection, and will not allow HDCP protected content to be played on an analog source.
    A tool like http://www.hdfury.com/ will take the HDCP stream, and convert it to an analog stream. It's perfectly legal.. and will extend the life of older TV's (manufactured before 2002).

    So upon first hooking this adapter up from my Mac Mini to my samsung 27" tube TV, it worked fine–but everything was massive in size. I started changing resolution sizes in the preferences panel and one of them set the screen flickering vertically, like a mismatch in refresh rates.
    Anybody else have this issue and resolve it successfully? It obviously works, it was for me for the first couple minutes, but I can't figure out what sent it flickering–and how to resolve it.
    The TV is connected VIA composite (RCA) cable from the adapter to the video-in port.

    Try starting in Safe mode. That should get your screen back.
