Mac Mini resets audio configuration on reboot - how can I stop this?

Hello all,
Specs up front :  Mac mini 4,1 mid 2010 server model (running client OS not server) 8Gb RAM
I had a problem with one of the RAM slots a couple months back and had to take the computer in for repair at the Apple store where they replaced the logic board.  Now every time I reboot the computer the audio out configuration switches to HF289H (which I assume is the speakers on my monitor, a Hanspree 28" that is connected via HDMI cable).  Selecting the audio out options I notice that and "headphones" - choosing headphones will switch the sound output to the speakers connected.
However on every reboot it reverts.  Is there some setting I can apply to make the computer "remember" how I want the output set?
Much thanks.

You don't tell us what Mac OS version you're running. I'll assume it's 10.7. Select Safari > Preferences > Privacy > "Remove all website data." Then quit Safari and relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the page from reloading automatically.
Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
