Mac mini screen showing only black and cursor arrow

I stopped using this mini when I attempted to upgrade the OS and it became unresponsive in the midst of the upgrade. I recently took it in for repair, they told me it's now running fine. but when I get it home the screen comes up all black. the cursor arrow appears and I can move it on the screen but I can't see anything else. I don't have a monitor for the mini (never did) I just do a share screen from one of my other macs (iMac, Powerbook) but now all I see is the black screen. I can access it from any of my other computers. I can access the files. Everything works great, except I can't see the screen. Is there something simple I'm overlooking?

Hmmm, I'm wondering if they attached a screen & set the resolution out of bounds for whatever you're screen sharing with?
Can you boot the Mini holding Shift key & still get in once it boots?

Splash screen show only once and never again

I have the followign line in jnlp file:
<icon kind="shortcut" href="dtopIcon1.gif" />
<icon kind="splash" width="550" height="300" href="splash.JPEG" />
The images are in the root directory of the app.
When download link is clicked on the web page, I saw the splash screen come up only once. It never shows again. Application downloads and creates an icon on desktop. The desktop icon was not showing up but started showing, I don't know how. But the splash screen never shows. Any ideas?

I would suggest you check the entire launch in JaNeLA. If fixing whatever errors it reports does not fix the problem, post your JNLP file(s) here (complete, not snippets).

I understand your screen is blank, even when connected to an external monitor. Does the notebook sounds like it is turning on, or have any lights indicating it is getting power?

Nevermind. I found a solution. Changing the grub mode line to:

IPhone 5c was powered off; when turned back on screen only shows in black and white. Have tried several times with no success. Any suggestions?

I purchased the iPhone 5c about 4 months ago. I turned it off briefly last night and when I turned it back on, the screen wallpaper and app icons are now in black and white. I have tried turning it off and on again several times with no success; screen still shows only black and white. All other functions of phone/text work correctly. Any suggestions on what to try?

You may have greyscale turned on. Try going to Settings > General > Accessibility and toggle that off and it should go back to color. Check out the page below for more information.

Samsung SyncMaster 2243 Shows Only Black

I've just purchased a Samsung SyncMaster 2243 monitor and changed its resolution. When rebooting my Mac the monitor shows only black with an alert exactly saying: 'Non optimum mode - Optimum mode 1920x1080 60Hz'.
The point is that I have no chance to go and change the resolution, because the monitor won't show other than black. I tried to restart from the system DVD pressing the C key on restart but with still the same result.
Don't really know what else to do. Can anyone eventually help me from out there?
By the way, I must say (and this is the strange part of all) that the first three or four times I switched my Mac on, after the advice the monitor showed, I could see my desktop and operate normally.

I would connect it to another monitor that I knew will work, once at the DT I would go to system preferences and set the display to a setting I know will work, say 1024x768, shut down my mac, connect the samsung and start. If you have a graphics card that has duel video ports and connect both up and set the video settings that way.
Does the samsung have a menu that allows monitor settings that can be changed?

The iPad is telling you to connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer so do it. You may have to restore the device.

Mini DV to Video only shows in black and white

I bought a mini dv to video from an apple shop so that i could watch films on my tv. I connected it to my tv at home and it worked perfectly, but when i try to connect it to my parents tv it only shows in black and white... both tvs are of roughly the same age...I'm connecting the yellow wire to the scart on the back of the tv to the yellow socket on the adapter
how come it works on one tv and not the other one?

When you press the INPUT button on the remote to cycle through the inputs, is "ColorStream HD" listed? Is "Video" listed?
The Xbox is connected using 5 cables, correct? Red, blue, green, white, and red?

I would suggest you try to update your iOS 8.0.2 to the latest iOS 8.1.0 with iTunes on your computer. Don't try to do the update on your iPhone, it takes time and some error always occur. After updating to iOS 8.1.0, if your iPhone can't restart properly, try Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS trial version. It will say that your iPhone is not in normal mode, offering you the option 'restart the device'. Just click the button to let your iPhone restart.

I created hello world app, app is working fine on simulator,
But when I install this app on device, and launch it from devie it shows only black screen. I am not sure whats the possible reason for this.

Unfortunately, I have not heard of this issue. Do you have a different Firefox OS device that you would be able to test this on?
I would also suggest contacting Intex Support for device-specific issues.

Films only showing in black and white

I've just got the Iphone and when I try and watch a film from Itunes through my tv using the AV composite cable it will only show in black and white. The cable is new and when I've tried it with my 5th gen Ipod it works fine. I've checked the connections and everything seems to be hooked up OK. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

When installing the new cartridges, did you get the message "Original HP cartridges have been installed"?
Can you check the ink levels and actually see the been color displayed?

Toshiba 40E220U - Only shows in black and white

I purchased a Toshiba 40E220U a few weeks ago and tried using it with my Xbox and it will only show in black and white. The Xbox has all the updated cabling (red, blue, green instead of the red, white, yellow combination). I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong and why it won't show in color. Any one have any suggestions?
