Hi, I have insalled the latest version of adobe flash player a couple times and my mac is still not recognizing it, hopeing someone could help me out!

I have a new laptop with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried to view a video and it said I did not have flash player. I went to download adobe flash player and your website said I had it intergrated into 8.1 and that it was either disabled, not the right version or that active X filters needed to be clear. I followed all instructions. Flash was installed with the 8.1 64 bit version. Flash was enabled for all websites and I cleared the active X filter and I still get told that I don't have install flash because it is intergrated and but it does not work. Please help I am in a cycle where Adobe is not helping just sending me in a circle. Thank you

Your problems aren't with Adobe or Flash Player. They're with Internet explorer 11 and Microsoft.
IE11 (Windows 7, 8 & 8.1) has been an abomination since its release October 18, 2013. Yahoo, Facebook, BBC, ESPN and dozens of other sites and domains have had trouble recognizing the Browser. If the site doesn't recognize the browser, it won't recognize any plugins in the browser, including Flash Player. Microsoft was made aware of the problems by millions of users within hours of the release, and so far they've shown no sign that they intend to fix it anytime soon. Their recommendation is to enable Compatibility View for affected pages. Two problems with that are that it's had only limited success, and you must enable it manually for each affected page. Basically, they're telling you to "pretend" you're not using IE11.
I'm not big on "pretending", and I recommend actually using something different. Something that works where IE11 won't.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Chrome (from Google)
Safari (from Apple)
Opera (from Opera)
ANY of those will work where IE isn't recognized, and they use the Flash Player Plug-in (for other browsers), except for Chrome, which has its own plugin embedded in by Google.

Why is the Firefox browser not recognizing ANY Flash player add-on?

I recently updgraded to Flash 17.0 and find that the browser often doesn't recognize my Flash player add-on. The crazy thing is that it's available in my list of add-ons, but whenever I enable and disable it, Firefox never recognizes that it's present when I go to sites that use the add-on.
I recently uninstalled the latest version of Flash and went back to an older version (10.3 I believe), and that still didn't change anything. I even did the little trick where you go into your "help", "Troubleshooting information" and "show folder" to delete "pluginreg" DAT, but it seems you have to do this EVERY new session on Firefox.
This is ridiculous. Flash is so often used on websites that I can't believe Firefox would upgrade its browser and not have something as essential as its compatibility with Flash all ironed out prior to the upgrade. I've read through the other answers to similar questions on here, and NONE of them offer any kind of permanent fixes. It'll all crap that you have to do manually every time you start a session on the browser.

Nope. I tried both things, and neither worked. I went through the work of downloading and installing both ActiveX version and the plug-in version. I then delete the plugin.dat after I closed out of my last season of Firefox.
It seems to work immediately after I do this, but if I disable Flash, at all, as I often do during most of my browsing and then enable it before I go to youtube, youtube still doesn't recognize the plugin and tells me I need to go download it.
It looks like I'm going to have to go and reset my plug-ins, but I REALLY don't want to do this. This is ''insane''.

Application not recognizing installed Flash

I had a Flash problem so I did a complete cleaning as per instructions. (Everything flash and Macromedia stuff)
Then I installed Adobe Flash Player. (It plays Youtube alright where I gad the problem before.) However when I want to start Incredimail this is what happens:
I start IM. Window asks for permission for Adobe to change computer whatever. (Setting is set not to ask by the way.) I allow. It then wants to install Adobe Flash. That aborts and an error window comes up, saying that Windows Explorer already has the latest Flash built in. I OK. Then a last window comes up telling that IM will not run until I install Flash. Which then I cannoy install because it says its built in. ??? So that is a total impossible loop.
I tried to add permissions to Shockwave that did not help. Easter is coming up and I can't send eggs!!!!!!

Glad you got it sorted out. We're really not involved in the distribution process at this point. Uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Windows Update for IE seems to be a pretty good method for dealing with mysterious Flash/IE problems, or self-inflicted issues where folks manually delete critical files (typically by following the "nuclear option" troubleshooting guides for older operating systems).
Synergistic screw-up potential is my new favorite phrase, though.

Help with Mac/Mozilla Firefox/installing Flash Player!!

When I went to download a new version of flash it gave me this message. "Only a single instance of this application can run."
After getting that message I tried to go and "uninstall" the flash player using the directions from this website. Everything went smoothly until I go to the pop-up where I had to either click "quit" or "uninstall" I clicked "uninstall" and nothing happened. The pop-up is still there and nothing is happeneing. I need help, please! My operating system is Mac 10.7.5 and I am currently using the Browser, Mozilla Firefox. I also have Safari as a Browser. Thank you!

To change your password you will need to open System Preferences, then open Users & Groups, click on Change Password. Change your password to a temporary one, then when you have finished you do the same procedure to change it back, by typing in the temp password then leaving the new password blank. Hope this helps.

Help needed installing Flash Player Update on Mac

I am trying to install a flash player update on Mac - right now the one site I'm trying to use says flash is out of date. Will not accept my adobe password, reset it through the adobe site and still will not work. Tried Chat help and agent said to reset password through the Apple screen. When I try that it asks for apple id and password but there is only a place for the password. Any suggestions.

This is the OS (Apple) prompting for the password, not Flash Player, therefore, the password is your Apple password, not Adobe ID password. Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?

"bing" is a search engine and NOT a browser. I have a Mac and I can use bing with Firefox. Unless you've installed: Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome or Safari... you most certainly DO use Internet Explorer.

Error installing Flash Player 9 silent mac

I downloaded the flex 2 demo from Adobe and installed on OS
10.4.11 but when I try to install the Flash 9 silent installer I
get an error message :

I have complete admin privledges . I tried downloading a

How can I install Flash Player 11.7 on my Mac?

I've been trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11.7. on my Mac for months. Finally, today I decided to "take the bull by the horns" and have spent several hours trying to get to the bottom of the problem -- to no avail. I've followed every support directive on Google, on Mac Support, and on Adobe Support and Forums (so difficult to use, by the way). Now my computer has NO Flash Player; I've uninstalled it as directed in one step of the process.
I'm running a MacBook Pro, OS X, 10.6.8

Flash Player version 10.1.102.64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users. However, this Flash version won't work for many videos on Facebook, YouTube and other sites. Adobe's latest version, 10.2.x or later, is only for Intel Macs. Adobe will not provide a newer Flash version for PPC Macs.
The message requesting that you download Adobe Flash Player takes you to Flash Player requiring an Intel processor. Doesn't work on a PowerPC processor. I found a hack, installed it & it works with Firefox, TenFourFox & Safari.
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
