Mac not reconizing cd-rw anymore?
well ive erased and recorded on it about 2 times and now when i put it in nothing shows up like its not even there but any other disc works fine?? ive erased the disc with toast too in case that helps..just a bothersome problem..

I just upgrade to lion on my iMac and also did the switch to iCloud and Paralle destop doest not what to open anymore .It says reactivate your mac and try again.

EricThere's no need to go to the store if you don't want to. You can purchase and download the new version from the Parallels web site. In fact if you want to try it out, I believe you can do the download and get a two week trial version. Later you can purchase the serial number to make it official.
I cannot be certain about your data, but I did not lose anything when I updated to Lion and faced a similar situation.

I do not know what happened, all of a sudden Firefox does not want to work anymore. Had been conected to audible. Retried about 4 times.... no luck had to force quit every time. The three Firefox app. into garbage, emptied garbage and redownloaded new version from Firefox. Reinstalled but same thing happened again... no connection.
What can I do, I like Firefox better than Safari, had it for years on my Mac.
Please let me know.

I think it might be the problem with one of your plugins.
Try to uninstall the webbrowser AND remove the storage from Firefox in your user-account (Linux: /home/username/.mozilla). You can check the list of installed Add-Ons in Firefox under "Extras => Add-ons" or by pressing Shift + Strg + A (Linux). -
I have just upgrade Itunes (10.6.3.25) and now I can not see my Ipad anymore. before the upgrade it was working fine. I already tried all suggestions from the support page, except re-installing Itunes. any suggestions?

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try. -
My Mac mini won't boot anymore. It's been running fine for months.
It's running Leopard Server 10.5.2 Build 9C31
It starts to boot, I get the first spinning gear with the gray screen, then the blue desktop blinks, then a second spinning gear on a gray screen and it appears to hang (the gear stops spinning).
I booted off the install DVD, ran disk utility, repaired the HD, repaired the permissions: the behavior is the same.
Safe mode doesn't work (same hang as above).
Single user mode does work.
I can connect to it via Server Admin while it appears hung.

I doubt the serial number is in use elsewhere: I purchased the 10-user version at a retail store in a sealed package and I've only installed it once. -
I can't install my old logic 8 on my new macbook pro. It says it does not support powerpc applications anymore. what do i need to do?? this is ridiculous!!!
Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for: Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion. -

How come my notes on outlook for office Mac not syncing to iPad 2
Hi folk,
I am a bit curious as to why when I created notes within outlook 2011 ( office Mac 2011) I don't see them on my iPad device?
On my iPad/cloud services/ notes sync is on
Also under settings/ notes "iCloud" is checked
What am I missing here ?

RichFirst, keep in mind that Notes in Outlook is not the same as the Notes in Mountain Lion (in terms of applications).
Notes in Outlook sync with Exchange. On the iMac, you can sync the Notes app with Exchange, so you will see your Outlook notes in the Mac Notes App (in addition to any iCloud notes you have). To set that up, go to Settings, Mail Contacts Calendars, and select your Exchange account. Check the box next to Notes. Now if you go into the Mac Notes app, you will see you have two Accounts, an iCloud account and your Exchange account, each showing the respective notes.
Now, on the iPad, things are a bit different at present. Here, you can only sync your iCloud notes. Under iOS 5, it is not possible to sync notes from Exchange anymore. Hopefully this will be addressed in iOS 6 coming out this Fall.
One workaround I've used for the omission of syncing Notes from Exchange on the iPad is to instead turn them into Tasks in Outlook. Under ML and Exchange, Reminders syncs with Tasks in Outlook, so you will be able to see those Tasks in the Reminders App on both your iMac/ML and your iPad. -

I'm still having the same problem ... 6 months after your original post! I've just had to reset my pw 2 days in a row, and I've been through so many resets over the past 6 months that I'm running out of ideas for passwords that I'll have a reasonable chance of remembering. But I also always make a careful note of my important passwords, and after the 1st "password error" message, I check my list and enter the password very slowly and carefully. So, I think I'm pretty safe in claiming that neither entering the wrong password nor making a typo is the problem!
Oddly, though, I could usually cancel the password-reset process, then go right to the the iTunes Store, where my password would work fine, allowing me to open and view all my account details.
Several months ago, I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Tech Support trying to get this fixed. He was great and we thought he'd found the problem with my account. (When I originally set up my iTunes account 6 years ago, I used a different email address than I used when I set up my new Mac last year, and that seemed to be causing some sort of conflict within my account. Hard to imagine someone might change email addresses sometime over a 6-year period, right? But apparently, the software designers didn't cover that possibility with one of their recent updates of the master system for customers' accounts -- that's the Tech Rep's surmise, not mine.)
Everything seemed to work fine for a few weeks, but then the problem started occurring again ... over and over and over ... -
When you plug in usb itunes will not come up like it use to. I go to my computer but it is not reconizing the usb port. I tried all 3 of them but none of them are reconized. Library is there,nano works but I can't update my nano if the computer wont reconize the usb port that it's pluged into. Any ideas???

Norton is probably the issue. It can really screw things up, that is one reason I never use it. See if you can temporarily disable it and then try the sync and see if that works.
On a Mac, there is a way to run a program that repairs permissions for the user, not a Windows thing. -

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. EMU 1820M audio dock not reconized
Hi all
I just purchase an EMU 1820 M with a new computer (3200+ AMD)
I install the PCI card and the daugther card, update the drivers to the 1.6 and install all the sofwares.
But the Audio dock is not reconized and active even if all the lights are working on the dock !
some one have any idea coz i m starting to dont know what to do anymore .
Please send tell for any idea

Are all of the lights lit up on the AudioDock M when you connect it? If so try these steps:
1) Disable hibernate mode on the system, sometimes this can cause problems
2) Right click on patchmix and select "Restore Defaults"
3) Flip the EDI cable (change the sides plugged in)
4) Try using a different power lead connected to the 1010 card inside, and if possible eliminate the need for the molex converter cable by using the power lead in your system designed for a floppy drive.
If none of these steps help, then you will need to contact EMU support. Their support contact page can be found on their website, www.emu.com.
