Mac OS 10.4.7 : Is there a printer that works with this system? Canon CAN'T
Can anyone suggest a currently available, reasonably priced printer that actually works with 10.4.7??
CD printing should be done on printable CDs, not on labels. You can print labels and then put them on the CD.
There are a number of printers that will work, but it depends on your needs. The most compatible printers are PostScript, followed by PostScript clones.
I also have an Epson inkjet, which almost works fine, except that the host computer will not sleep when it is powered up and sharing the printer. Actually, the display goes to sleep and will not wake up, which is bad.

Is there a printer that works with imac
I upgraded my operating system and now I can not get any printer to work??
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion occasionally results in a somewhat rocky transition with one's existing printers.
I recommend deleting your existing printers from System Preferences > Print & Fax, and adding them again. Better yet is to "reset the printing system" as described here: Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
After you do that you will need to add the printers again according to the instructions here:
OS X Mountain Lion: Set up a printer
Then, check for updates using the App Store. All your printer's functions that you have been accustomed to using in Snow Leopard should still be available, though some are hidden in dropdown menu selections using OS X's standard Print dialog. -
In Iowa, you can upload an app called Wilbur from your library so you can download books from the library. Is there another app that is needed to go with "Wilbur" because you cannot use the regular functions of an iPad such as taken notes, highlight a word for a definition, etc.

Are you actually talking about the app called Overdrive Media Console? In any case, if it doesn't have the features you want, you need to ask the author to add them. -
WRT120N - Is there an expander that works with this router?
anyone know what if any wireless expanders work with a WRT120N router?
I have a sorority house that was setup with the WRT120N router and has WAP54g's connected to it, but they will not keep a connection worth a darn.
3 floor older building, 2 wap54g's on the top 2 floors.
I tried to set them up as wap's but Linksys support said it will... not work with the model routers that were installed by Cox.
Any Ideas?WAP54G will work in repeater mode only with WRT54G or another WAP54G. I think you can go for a new wireless N router which can give you better signal strength.

"there was an error working with this photo"
I am new to the forums.
I have been using a Windows Vista computer with I believe an older version of LR. I thinkg it is 4.??
When i would plug in my memory i would use LR to import my pictures and import them to an external hard drive connected to my WiFi router.
I never had a problem with it.
I recently made the move to Apple and got an iMac. I downloaded and installed LR on my iMac and then imported the photos with no problem.
Now when i try and view the phots they are coming up grainy and getting an error:
" there was an error working with this photo"
I then look down at the thumbnails view and all of them are showing ! in the upper right corner. So i click on it and get another error:
"Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to this photo"
When I look at the import section i get "preview unavaible for this file"
I would say i am a newbie to LR and i really only used it to import and manage my photos. I have no idea where to begin troubleshooting.
Any and all help would be greatly apprecaited.
ThanksYes. When I am watching, it seems to complete the autowrite in a few seconds after making a change.

Is there an extension that works with Dreamweaver CC to create SCORM imsmanifest?
I searched the forum and it looks like Manifest Maker for ADL SCORM 1.2 will not work in Dreamweaver CC. Can some please confirm this? Is there any extension like this will work with Dreamweaver CC? Can Manifest Maker for ADL SCORM 1.2 still work in Dreamweaver CS6? The extension can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1012681
You link is dead as far as I can see. Just clicking on the link takes me to your webmail (rr) but using this link:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail &extid=1012681
Is dead.
However, Most Extensions in CC requires a ZXP format/extension and distributors have provided free updates to their customers. Have you tried contacting the person who created that particular extension?
If you can sort out the links then our experienced MVPs will help you out. They need to see what you are talking about.
Good luck. -

Is there a Bluetooth printer that works with the new Ipad?
Does anyone know yet if there are any portable Bluetooth printers that will work with the Ipad?
I found this one. But I'm not sure if it's going to work. becuase it only has setup disks for PC and BB phone.

Message was edited by: ronchapdeggie is correct; BT only works with some headphones and keyboards. You'd have to invest in one of the 3rd party apps in the App Store to get your printing done.

Why do I get "there was an error working with this photo"?
In LR 4.2, have begun seeing this error message when I apply a keyword to an image. When I move to an adjacent image and return to the original, the keyword shows it has been applied. I cannot see any problems with viewing or editing images but am concerned as I'm seeing this error message up to 10 times per day by rough count. So, in all it is appearing to be a nuisance but with no visible impacts.
Every time I exit LR, I backup the catalog with an integrity test and optimization. When I return, I see no problems with images that received the error when a keyword was applied.
Background: Have a catalog with over 14,700 images that for all other purposes runs fast and well. The images receiving the errors are TIFF scans of negative 4x5 sheet film. In the "active" part of the catalog, there are 519 images.
Have a Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.8 with all patches applied. LR 4.2, current version. Over 410 GB hard drive space available. Eight GB RAM on machine.
Have scanned Adobe Community and done a general Google search with no hits reporting this error message with no apparent other issues.
Appreciate learning I can ignore with confidence or advice on how to stop/avoid repetition.
DougYes. When I am watching, it seems to complete the autowrite in a few seconds after making a change.

Labeling on a photo - Is there a program that works with iPhoto?
I have a Mac Book Pro system 10.8.5. I want to put a description directly on some photos in iPhoto but not on all of them. I have used photogenie on my iPad but want something similar for my Mac. Any recommendations?
Adding text to a photo is not a feature of iPhoto.
You can do it with
Preview - already on your machine
BorderFX - a free plug-in. (http://www.iborderfx.com/iborderfx/)
or an external editor.
In order of price here are some suggestions:
Seashore (free)
The Gimp (free)
Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto. -

I use CS5 and don't want CS6. I do however need to upgrade camera raw and would like to get 8.4 or newer. Is there a way to get it without having to buy a whole new program? If not I guess I'll have to stop using CS6 and Lightroom 5 for my work and use another program.
Since I shoot in a raw format,
With which camera?
Their current offer is $10 a month or $120 a year to upgrade to CS 6/CC
You don't have to join the Cloud to get CS6. You can also upgrade to the perpetually licensed version of CS6.
http://www.adobe.com/au/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_s l_creativesuite6.html
since I prefer not to store my work on somebody else's system
As a Cloud member, you can still store your files locally just as you do now. That's my preferred workflow too.
Cloud membership does come with 20GB of Cloud storage space on remote servers but using it is optional. You're not obliged to.
I have been with Adobe and using both Photoshop and lightroom since beginning, but I guess all good things must come to an end at sometime.
Using the free DNG converter, you can continue with your current software and your current camera. You just have to convert the camera's Raw files to DNGs first. -
