Mac OS is connected to internet, but will not load webpages in any browser. Another Mac loads just fine. HELP!!!

My Macbook OS X 10.5.8 decided it didn't want to load any webpages anymore. I have tried both firefox and safari and get the same result. The tab will say connecting...but it never does. WHY!?!??!
I have four bars of WiFi connection.
Network diagnostics tests comes back "Connected" like there's no problem at all.
I have restarted my router and computer.
I have another Macbook Air that is connected just fine.
I have deleted and re-added the airport service.
I have renewed the DHCP Lease.
I have changed the router channel.
I have tried everything!!
Please help!

Nevermind, problem fixed. After reading how to setup router with cable modem I realized I need to goto main and clone router to cable modem. I did that and problem was solved.

Hello friends i have gotten an iphone from a friend yesterday. I have yet to get it activated so im just using it on wifi for now. turned it on connected it to my home wifi and had no issues smooth sailing. I later that night went out to eat and connected to the wifi at Friday's, the place we went to eat. It made me connect to their wifi and for every app that i opened like snapchat, twtitter and instagram it opened what seemed to be a web browser page. and on the page it made me click accept to what seemed to just be a simple * agree to connect to our wifi etc. etc.* so i did and again everything went fine i could use the wifi perfectly.
now the issue that i'm having is i came home and try to open twitter, instagram and snapchat again and a message comes up saying
"Could not Connect" please check your connection and try again.
i'm not sure if what i did at dinner last night with their wifi has anything to do with the issue i'm having now but it seems to be to much of a coincidence that i had no issues, do all that for their wifi come home and am now having issues. but i CAN use safari on the iphone but for EVERY website i attempt to go to while connecting to the webpage and before finishing brings up a message saying
"Cannot Verify Server Identity" safari cannot verify the identity of "www.google.com". would you like to continue anyway?
with the options of Cancel, Details or Continue if i click continue it loads the page but what seems to be a broken version of the page i'm looking to connect to.
any help would be great i hope i put in enough detail i tried not to miss anything so i can get the best input from you friends i'm all ears!

No, it shouldn't have any effect at all. There is such a thing as a coincidence.
Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears? If that doesn't work, try Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. I will delete all of your saved WiFi passwords but nothing else.

I have a used linksys router that I got from work. I tried connecting with a older ipad and every thing works correctly. any ideas?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I recommend that you start with taking a look at the Apple Support article to help you troubleshoot what the issue may be.
If that still doesn't resolve the issue, we will need to get the AirPort icon back on the OS X menu bar to continue. Please try the following:
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar (checked)

Are you seeing this
when you double click on a thumbnail file? If so it's an indication that the file path/link between the thrumbnail and original, full sized file has been broken. Therefore, and assuming you're running iPhoto 9 or later, try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

We have a 5s active on our account. After turning on a previously active 4s (it had the same number) The 5s can no longer place call and when you call it from another phone the 4s rings, but will not pick up. Texting over the cell networks works fine.

My mac says I'm connected to wireless interent, but will not display the webpage. It says that it is not connected to the interent. My hp computer is working though. Does anyone know what is causing it not to connect to the interent and what I can do to get it to connect?

Make sure in the network settings that you arent trying to connect to the internet through a Proxy server, unless you actually are of course. Make sure the connection you are using is set to get its IP address via DHCP automatically, and that the router you are connecting to is set up to do so.

My MacBook Pro will connect to WiFi but will not work in one location but will at others. I have the same issue with my IPhone 4S at the same location.

My MacBook Pro will connect to Wifi at one location (this is a secure location) but will not allow access to the internet. I will put in the password but will not display page. Other wifi capable devises do not have this issue but my Mac and my Iphone 4S will not work. I have tried restarting the router. All other wifi locations I have been to have not had this issue. Any suggestions? I am realtively new to Apple products (less than a year) so any advise is greatly appreciated.

The other devices that are working got on with the same password. It says it is connected. Just nothing works on the internet.

MacBook Pro Retina says connected to ethernet, but will not connect

I have a MacBook Pro 13" Retina. It will not connect to my office's network no matter what I do. I've tried different cables, different ports, toggling wifi on and off, inspecting the ports to see if they will recognize other thunderbolt connections and they will. I was able to connect to a Thunderbolt monitor without any issues. It may be the adapter, but there are all kinds of funky-ness going on when I try to assess the network. The thunderbolt heading under System Information claims nothing is connected - even when communicating with the Thunderbolt display. The ethernet connection claims to be working, but will not connect to the internet. It also can't seem to find our router. I've tried to manually enter all the information in using the assistant, but it still can't find it. This is especially frustrating since this computer is under a year old. I can't take it to the Genius Bar because it is owned by my company and contains proprietary info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the computer wont connect to networks. I see you have used network diagnostic. I would recommend that you read this article, there are a lot of other things you can do in this article that may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Photosmart 6520 e Windows 7 printer says it is connected to network, but will not print.

I've followed all suggestions in troubleshooting both from manual and on line. Shut off firewall, unplugged, plugged waited. Nothing changes. All printouts from the printer say connected, but will not print and computer detection of the printer says cannot be located. Help!!

Beta 4 ver 6 installed on Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.4 will not run, will not delete, cannot reinstall any other version of mozilla, also mozilla help is useless and too confusing, is there not just a simple email address to ask for help?

Firefox tries to run, mac says name too long. It will run only when mounted but will not run from Applications. It refuses to delete and stays in trash, must use combinations of DropNuke2 and Trash to get it to delete I think! Then when trying to put any other version of Firefox in Applications, Finder states name already exists then refuses to move the Firefox application to APplications! Never had problems with Firefox until installed the stupid beta 4 ver 6!

It turns out that there's something wrong about permissions.
Here's the fix:
(1) log in as the +root user+
(2) type +chown -R Michael:staff ~Michael+
(3) log out the +root user+
(4) log in your account
(5) done!
