Mac OS X 10.10.3: First connect takes almost 1 Minute

Freedome 1.0.1565.0Freedome Server Sachsen, DEMac OS X 10.10.3Macbook 13" early 2011 Hi all, after rebooting or after sleep wake it takes almost 1 minute that Freedome activates a secured connection via my wifi. Any chance that you guys speed up the connecting phase? Thanks.

I also remembered a trick that worked for me on my home network (Windows 7, 10.6.3). I renamed the Windows 7 WokGroup name to a custom name. Then on my 10.6.3 machine I went into System Preferences->Network, Advanced button, WINS tab and put in the new WORKGROUP name and in the box bellow I added the Windows 7 IP. After about 5 minutes the Windows 7 appeared in my Finder's sidebar and I could connect using my Windows login name & password. However it would disappear upon ejecting the mounted share but I could still Command+K to it.
On the windows 7 I am not using the Windows 7 "HomeGroup" but an only doing simple file sharing.

You will need to delete the keyboard from the other Mac. Simply disconnecting it leaves it still paired with the first Mac.

Mac's and PCs can no longer connect after 10.4.10 Upgrade SMB Crash - Help

This is my second post on this topic. I have read other similar threads, but none of the advice I have tried has worked so far. We have 4 PCs and 5 Macs at home that were networking nicely until we upgraded the G5 10.4.10. The G5 can browse and connect to any machine on the network. However, no other machine can connect to a shared folder on the G5.
I installed a clean 10.4.10 on a second hard drive and it works fine. So that eliminates hardware and infrastructure. I really did not want to have to reinstall everything from scratch.
I performed an Archive and Install and that did not work.
1) On my G5 I turn on Personal or Windows File Sharing
2) From another computer PC or Mac I attempt to connect to the shared files
3) The connection is made most of the time and I can see the folders. However within a few minutes or the second time I attempt to browse the folders, I get an error.
4) When I return to the G5, the Service is unchecked

Usually whan an Archive & Install doesn't work, it's very few things...
Bad prefs/plists carried over.
Some APP or kext or support file not replaced due to permissions, HD Errors, bad aliases, etc.
Bad info in caches.

When you say it ignores your iPhone, do you mean it does not appear in iTunes if you launch iTunes? Or it does not appear in Finder? Or does not appear in iPhoto? Or you get an error message?

Hi, try this first...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.

My Mac Book Pro suddenly will no longer connect to the Internet at my house. My son's MacBook connects just fine. My MacPro connects at work, at Starbucks, etc. just fine, but not at my house. My son's however has no problem whatsoever. I assume that since his computer connects that the router and modem is not the problem. And since my computer connects everywhere but here . . . . it is not a hardware issue. When directly connecting my MacBook Pro to the modem or router the problem was the same. . . no connection. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. iPhone has been set up to wirelessly sync when on charge yet I get this error when the iPhone is not even charging!
I work for a mobile network operator and although this isn't something we support anyway, we would usually stumble across something like this when customers call us for advice prior to contacting the manufacturer for support, yet this hasn't been a call driver so I'd imagine this is isolated... (either that or not many people have updated their device and set up the wireless sync lol)...

Wireless MAC filter can not be active to connect to WIFI?

I use a Linksys router with WEP security and a Wireless MAC filter. When I turned off WEP I was unable to connect to the router with my iphone 3g but when I enabled WEP and turned off the MAC filter I connected right away.
Has anybody else seen this or has anyone successfully connected to a router with a MAC filter?

I have no problems connecting to a router with MAC filtering enabled... I would just double check that you entered the correct MAC address into your router (Settings>General>About>Wi-Fi Address) and make sure the permissions are set correctly for that MAC address (if applicable)...

Here's why you should use Wifi to do a wireless software update:
While you'd be able to download an update over 3G/4G, the updates are so big that you'll be waiting a really long time (also, you'll eat up a ton of your monthly wireless data), so Wi-Fi is much easier here. You should also make sure you've got plenty of battery life. The download and installation process can take some time, so if you've got less then 50% battery, you may want to plug in to a power source.
