Mac OS X 10.4.11 Eject key doesnt work even I press more than 2 secs. But

It works when I press ALT button and the eject key together. Is this normal or there is a problem?

i installed vista by using bootcamp, and when i restart my computer, hold the alt key, and start windows.. i get no volume. i am able to modify the volume level by using the bottom right controls however i am getting no sound

Eject key not working with MBA Superdrive

For MBA owners with MBA Superdrive, could you please let me know if the Eject key is working? I just bought a MBA Superdrive but the Eject key on the keyboard is not ejecting disc. When i press the Eject key, i don't see the gray Eject icon on the screen, unlike all other function keys (for example, volume control, keyboard backlight control and screen brightness control). I can ctrl-click (or right-click) on the disc and select "Eject" to eject disc. If i do a ctrl-Eject, i can get the "Are you sure you want to shut down your computer now" window to show up so the Eject key does not appear to have any physical or electrical issue. I can also boot into Boot Camp (Windows 7) and the Eject key works perfectly.
I have installed and uninstalled Virtual Box and Parallels so i am not sure if my problem is related to that.
Apple's tech support recommendation is to do an archive install, which in theory will keep all my personal data but create a new Systems folder. But i would like to try something less drastic before going that route.

Thanks. I not only did an "archive install" of Snow Leopard, i also did a erase install. But the Eject key is still not working like it's supposed to. I think i am going to try clearing the PRAM next.

10.5.4 = Eject Key not working...

Upgraded to 10.5.4 on multiple computers in the studio. Now none of the Eject keys are working (on various machines, Intel and PPC).
Any suggestions?

Yep, been doing that every since the update with 10.4 (can't remember which revision) where the time you had to hold down the eject key was increased (rather than just a tap). First thing I thought was the time was increased yet again, but nope, never opens.

Can't press more than 2 directional arrows keys at the same time

I just noticed that in the Macbook Pro Retina that I bought recently there's no way to press more than 2 arrow keys at the same time, or at least the system does not seem to handle it.
All other keys can be pressed at the same time without any problems, so I think that the problem affects only the arrow keys.
I'm surprised that in a modern computer can exist this type of limitation
I think Apple should update the system to allow this - car gamers like me will thanks or feel less disappointed...
Any help would be appreciated!

Uninstalled everything PA, also uninstalled mangler which was the only thing that depended on PA. It didn't work anyway.
No pulseaudio --kill command so I couldn't run.
Checked systemd journal and there is no mention of PA this time.
Checked top, and grepped ps aux and there is no PA there either.
I also rebooted the machine completely just to make sure. However VLC and HTML5 have the same incompatibilities.

But the video and audio did work until I ran some HTML5 video, after which the audio worked, and then I opened it again and it didn't work...

I have the same problem, they never told me that, just that the newest version of Java "locks" up streaming quotes.

My enter key doesnt work

heyy!! my issue is abit different. Before I used to hold alt down and use the character that i needed. Now i have to let go of the key and type. Its very annoying. I have tried wipe and master reboot!! Nothing works.. Just plugged my wired keyboard in and it works. very strange, seems very unlikely that the only broken key is the enter key mhm. expect the unexpected. will contact the apple support on monday cause i live in germany and they dont work 24/7

Just to let you know, your solution worked... My SQL Developer got into a state again where the backspace key stopped working... doing 'load preset, default' on the accelerators did fix it. Strange, because I don't use/configure the accelerators at all. Thanks for that, and hopefully this will be permanently fixed in the next version.
To echo what I think someone else was trying to say... I also have the issue that sql developer will 'lock up' or get bogged down sometimes, when i'm just typing away in the worksheet. Any keystrokes I entered in though will always get entered into the worksheet, once sqldeveloper 'unfreezes' itself. Of course, this issue is an annoyance factor only (little bit of impact on productivity though), but hopefully it gets fixed as well.

This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6.

The applications are two: the first is "Layers - Standard, J. Benjamin Gotow, version 2.7.2" and the second is "Brushes - iPad Edition, Taptrix, version 1.2.2". The help files don't aswer to my curiosity. I'm looking at developer's website for a support forum just now, many thanks.

Eject key not working after 10.4.9

Suddenly both my iMac and MBP's eject key stopped responding. I think this happened after istalling 10.4.9, but I'm not shure.
What sould I do? Anything I could try to resolve this?

I don't have this problem and I upgraded to 10.4.9 for about 1-2 weeks ago and it as been running since with no problem... (with the Ejecting cd's) ( Just tested again, to be sure)
Do you have something else installed or connected to your mac's that could cause the problem?
Try - if you have / can to provide some more details and information, and lets see if we can work something out?
