Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update ?

Is there a way of finding out weather my mac has the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed.
I can't see it in the Installed Software section of Software Update.

If I re-install the update, if it is already on my mac { but a "glitch" means it hasn't been registered in the Installed Software section of Software Update }, will it reck my mac ?

Is there a way of finding out weather my mac has the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed ?
I can't see it in the Installed Software section of Software Update.
I Tried to install the update.
    This dialog box came up:
What does this mean ? That I already have the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed ?

    I have 10.7.3
I am wanting to find out if I have the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed ?
Because I am unable to see it in the Installed Software section of Software Update.
I am also unable to install the Mac OS X 10.7.3Supp.dmg file.
I click on the file and it opens a dialog box saying it is Verifying.
It then opens up a window in the background.
    The window contains this icon:
When I Double Click the the icon, it comes up with the dialog window to install the update.
When I get to the step where I select where I want the file to be installed, this domes up:
    What does this mean ?
Do I already have the Update installed ?
How do I install the Update ?

  • Mac OS X v10.7.5 Supplemental Update 1.0

I installed Mac OS X v10.7.5 Supplemental Update 1.0 a few days ago, which said (amongst other things) that it was to improve TimeMachine Backup times... yet, previously it was estimated to complete in 2 days, yet since the install the estimate is now 99 days...
Not sure that it is a great improvement (although this is an initial sync)

The supplemental update did address the 'slow' Time Machine backups under 10.7.5 - if this is your first backup, and depending on how much data you are backing up, I would guess that it could take 6-9 hours, but certainly not 2 (or 99) days. If it seems that the backup is 'hung' just stop it, reformat the external drive, and try again. For some great Time Machine troubleshooting tips, see http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html.
    Good luck,

  • 10.10.3 supplemental update confused About this Mac

After the supplemental update my mac book pro has incorrect information in About This Mac. The storage tab shows that I have 223.86GB free of 249.77GB. That is correct. The graphic shows the entire disk consumed by Backup(140.74TB yes TB). This is obviously incorrect. IStat menu also has incorrect disk usage information as well and is reporting 140.96TB free.

  • Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update

Found this in the Newsletter for Tidbits   http://tidbits.com/issue/1145
    TidBITS#1145/08-Oct-2012
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update -- Apple has released Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update, an addition to the recently released Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion that’s tiny enough not to merit its own version number. The update resolves only two issues: one that could cause Time Machine backups to take a long time to complete and another that prevented certain applications with a signed Developer ID from launching. If you hadn’t previously installed 10.7.5, you won’t need to worry about this supplemental update — the latest build of Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) includes these two fixes. (Free, 2 MB)

  • Is 10.8.2 Supplemental Update Incorporated into Mac App Store Download?

I am considering upgrading my MBP (Late 2008) to Mountain Lion in a week or so and I was wonder if anybody knows if/when the download that is available within the Mac App Store has the 10.8.2 Supplemental Update incorporated into it or whether the offered build has been updated?

Don't bother with the MAS. Just DL them manually. That way you can store them for future use:

  • HT5815 Screen flicker started after supplemental update to 10.8 5 on my 2012 mac mini

The problem monitor was one of 2 Dell S2740L and is connected via a mini DP to HDMI cable
The 10.8.5 supplemental update came with the iTunes 11.1.1 update
The screen would soften and flicker every few seconds and sometimes black out
Tried lots of fixes including another cable but nothing worked
Restoring back to previous know good version has solved the problem
Looks like fixing someones flicker problem has started another

Sorry - never mind.  I realized that my version of Java needed to be updated.  Once I did that, it connected just fine.

  • Big hard drive problem after 10.8.5 supplemental update

Hello, I just tried installing the 10.8.5 supplemental update, but now I can't restart my iMac at all. It keeps trying to reinstall the update, and then shuts down. I can restart from the recovery HD, but I can't reinstall the previous software as it says that both of my disks are locked, the main HD and the recovery HD. I tried disk repair, but it says the main HD can't be repaired. Is there any way to unlock the disks? Any other options? Thanks.

You will have to do internet recovery OS X: About OS X Recovery
or Mountain Lion Recovery disk assistant  OS X Recovery Disk Assistant v1.0
If you have a third party utility like disk warrior or techtool  DiskWarrior 4 - The Disk Utility for Mac Disk Repair, Mac Directory Repair, Mac Disk Recovery, Mac Data Recovery or Techtool Pro 7
they might be able to fix your drive, but this is unlikely.
If you can get the drive repaired and you are still game for the update, I'd use the combo installer instead. A lot of people have had problems with the supplemental installer. I just used the combo installer the other day for a problem I was having with iTunes, worked like a charm. OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.5 (Combo)
If the recovery partition will let you, you might have to erase the drive and reinstall ML and reinstall your documents from backups, which I hope you have.
If it won't let you, and DW or TT or Disk Utility won't fix or erase your drive, then the drive has probably failed, and you'll have to replace it.

  • 10.7.5 supplemental update doesn't change build number to 11G63b

I have a bunch of Macs still with Lion and Apple Remote Desktop reports that one of them has Mac OS X 10.7.5 build number 11G63 while all the others have build number 11G63b. I'd like to align them so I installed the OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update on the Mac with build 11G63 to update it to 11G63b. The update installed correctly but after restarting the Mac it still reports 10.7.5 build 11G63.
    Am I missing something?
I read that the supplemental update "is not needed if you install the Mac OS X Lion v10.7.5 Update (build 11G63)" but AFAIK it should nevertheless update the build number, shouldn't it?

Where are you clicking on it? In your Purchases list or are you clicking on the button below the application:
The text in the button will differ depending on whether you've already purchase it or not.

  • After 10.6.7 supplemental update, the "More Info" button is grayed out

I performed the Supplemental Updater for the late 2010 Mac Book Air, and now the "More Info: Button on the About This Mac window stays grayed out. That can't be correct, but I don't see how to fix it.

No there is no "Systems Information" app in the Utilities Folder in the Applications Folder on the MacBook Air, and although "System Profiler" does appear in the Apple Menu when selected while option-clicking, nothing happens and no profile contents window appears. Is there a way to restore the Systems Information app? Can I copy it over from my main desktop running 10.6.7 or is there a version specific for the MacBook Air?

  • 10.8.5 Supplemental update is very buggy

I am on a Mac Pro 2.8 (3.1) 2008 model.  12 Gb ram and a radeon 5870.  This supplemental update has been pretty horrible.  I have had the following issues: messed up sleep, random wake ups, and one hard crash.  I have also had the long sleep delay where the fans crank up and it takes forever to sleep...only a restart cures this, which is pretty useless.  The mach file showing but that was fixed with a terminal command.  Lost video chat icon on iMessage for a while but that has now mysteriously returned.  The last annoying bug I have suffered with is what seems like horribly reduced audio quality out of the Apple LED 24 inch cinema display speakers.  It sounds like 22kz mono both input and output.
I would rate this update a full on zero out of ten, for creating problems that never existed in 10.8.5.
    Anyone else having these issues?
    Rupe.

I'm not having those same problems, but my USB3 external drives attached via a USB3 hub still are ejected improperly when the machine goes to sleep.  Also, I've had aliases on the desktop disappear for no reason.  I regret updating to 10.8.5 due to all the weird problems, and the supplemental update fixed a few things but it's still buggy...  Fortunately, no data corruption from this.  I keep my fingers crossed.
Since desktop sales represent 15% of Apple's revenues (and dropping), it's just a matter of time before they dump desktops all together. I see no reason why Apple would care if the desktop OS is buggy.

  • Apple Mouse Scroll Ball Not Working Since 10.7.4 Supplemental Update

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but my scroll ball on my Apple Mouse (wired) will no longer scroll upwards since applying the OS 10.7.4 Supplemental Update on the 1st June 2012.
I have a Mac Mini with a 27" Thunderbolt Display running 10.7.4. There are no software updates available and I have tried all the settings available in the system preferences.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

FWIW, my mighty mouse works w/o issues. See these:
