Hi. This might be a silly question but I was wondering if you guys know if there is any issues with the following plug-ins running on LP8 in MAC OS X.5.8 ?:

Basically curious to know if I should rather hang a bit on 10.5.7 or can I go to 10.5.8? Any issues some of you have been experiencing or know of?

In my limited experience, I usually recommend DAW users stay one or two Mac Os updates behind, especially when you have a stable running machine.
And, since none of those plug-ins are made by Apple... nor are included with Logic, it is probably best you actually email the manufacturer's of each one and find out from them, as to whether they are compatible.
As to my system, I am still on 10.5.6, running Logic 8.0.2 and Pro Tools HD 8.0cs2. It is stable, and only every now and then will give me any hiccups, normally these are associated with downloading or navigating on the internet, but not with using Logic nor ProTools HD.
The plug ins that I own are compatible with this system and are not giving me issues. Alas, none of the ones on your list I use at all, so I cannot be of help there.

The license is for the Developer not the machine it is run on However there could be soma issues with trying to develop on a public machine.
The biggest is does the library machine have or will they let you install and run Xcode and if you are developing for IOS will they let you plug in your devices?
In addition will they allow you the hours needed on the machine? Most public machines have a time limit especially if there are others waiting to use it.
All-in-all in can be done but it won;t be an easy situation.

I may be missing the point here, I understand that you need to select the fields which will form the unique ID for the records in the ODS under the Key Field (please correct me if I am wrong with the purpose of the Key Field), but I don't understand the discussion of "aggregation" in the context.

I try to give some exaplanation based on the previous answer.
1. Data redundancy - make sure you do not store the same information. does not make sense to have data redundanty across you Data Warehouse. this is also a cost. just sotre the same information one time if you get all what you need.
2. whatwhever you build you dp, which consist of IO, you need to know with kind of relation (1:1 or 1:n - n:n and so on) exist between them. that will help you when you model you infoprovider. For example I would never pit togheter IO (n:m) in the same dimension if you expect an high number of cardinality. Sometime an IO can be an attribute of another one (depend on relation. For example
Business Partner and his Address. Usually you have a relation 1:1, in this case address is an attribute of BParten and store it in the Masterdata instead then DP
3. Sometime when you load from ODS to CUBE, you can fill some IO (which are in the infocube and not in the ODS)through ABAP routine in TR-Start Routine of Update Rule. Does not make sense to include these IO in the ODS as they are NULL or Blank (the deault value). This can happen when for example, you first load in the ODS (Price and Quantity) and then you calculate Sell price later (Price * Quantity). of course it could be doen also in the Bex. Depends on other factors (Performance - Loaidng -Sizing)
4. Make sure that the KEY definition of ODS is accordingly to the data otherwise you will aggregate the data and later maybe if you need the detail you miss it.
for example: customer - product - Distr Chan - Sell Price
if each Customer can buy each product for any Distrution Channel, then when you build your ODS(Customer - Product and Distribution must be KEY) otherwise (if you have only Customer - Product KEY for example) you will lose the details for Distribution Channel.

Not sure what you want - you shoot the photo by doing a sweep and the camera makes a static JPEG that is long (panaromic) and you import it - on the camera and in iPhoto is is a panaromic photo

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.

If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again. You can make a bootable DVD/USB stick to install using this free program.

Our 2 computers haven't experienced any significant problems, even though others have. I find it much better than 10.7 Lion, which I used for a week before reverting to 10.6.8
Mavericks is supposed to be released this fall, so you may want to wait.

When I move items to trash the trash does not register as full and therefore I cannot empty it. My Mac is almost full so any help on this will be gratefully received.

Event Receiver - Can I use Sleep in C# code to wait for several days or months? Any issues with this?

This HAS TO BE an event receiver (Nothing else is possible).
In my C# Event Receiver - I have to take an action after a particular date is reached (which can be several days/months).
Is it okay for me to use Sleep(3 months) in code? Any issues this can cause?

I think you'd be much better implementing a SharePoint timer job to do this. In your event receiver, you could update a property bag. The timer job can then read the property bag every 5 minutes (or at what ever interval you need) and take action based on
the date.
If you use sleep, it blocks the current thread from doing anything else, so no, you shouldn't do that! See: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.threading.thread.sleep(v=vs.110).aspx
You could look at Thread timers, but I don't know if that will working within an event receiver (I think a SharePoint timer job is more stable option) http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/swx5easy.aspx

I haven't been able to download or update any CC apps since last night.
I have 2 macs, with different CC accounts. They are on the same network and I tried taking a machine off the network and using wifi but problem remained.

I have read bits and hints on different postings on this site and this is the best I could do for the scenario shown below:
I need to add the Chars: Char1, Char2, Char3 to CubeX
so that I can display the data for these 3 Chars in a report.
Char1 and Char2 are filled in ODS12 and Char3 is filled in Cube3.
Can you help me write a routine so that while loading data to CubeX, it will read Char1, Char2, Char3 from ODS12 and Cube3; and make them available in CubeX?

Using iPhoto for a specific PP task - will it cause any issues?

Since I've started shooting in RAW, I haven't really used iPhoto that much.
My current process is to import using Bridge, open images in Adobe Camera Raw to edit and crop, and then open in PS Elements 6 to do final editing.
However I don't like the crop feature in ACR... And I'm thinking of using iPhoto for cropping.
Here is how I envision the process -
1. Import via bridge
2. Open and edit in ACR but do not crop
3. Open and edit in PSE6 and save as PSD
4. Run batch process in PSE6 to convert PSDs to JPGs
5. Import JPGs into iPhoto and crop
6. Export JPGs as current settings.
The only issue that I think I will have is that iPhoto will convert the images to 72dpi and so I will need to add one more batch step to convert from 72dpi to 240 or 300 dpi.
Are there any issues with this process change?
Will the extra steps degrade the JPGs in any way?

I’m not sure you’ll need this step as iPhoto will work with almost all PSDs. A little trial and error will confirm.
5. Import JPGs into iPhoto and crop
6. Export JPGs as current settings.
Assuming you imported as PSD then you can export as ‘Kind: JPEG’ and specify the exported dimensions, thereby avoiding your final batch conversion to 300 dpi. (Although this conversion is pretty pointless until you actually go to print a file.)
A general comment:
It’s a lot of effort to get a crop. Can’t you crop in Elements? Or - if not in Elements - there are lots of little editors out there with no database element that will crop. Even Preview will do this.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
