Mac OS X Doesn't Show Up in Software Update
When I try to go to Software Update and download the mac app store it says my computer is up to date even though I'm running 10.6.5. I also tried downloading from the apple website, but it says my disk is invalid when I try to install the update. Please help.
I found "There is a reversioner in the dmg with your beta build. Run that, then immediately run the combo or plain updater."
I tried it (from macos_x_10.6.6_build_10j537_combo_update_reversioner) and the 10.6.6 update is installing at the moment...

10.5.7 doesn't show up in Software Update

It sounds to me something is either unhealthy about your machine, or you are using tools which are incompatible with Software Update.

Server Admin Doesn't show info for Software Update Service
In server admin, under the settings and available updates, I see a list of available updates, but they are labelled with the hash code for the update, not the name, and the info panel doesn't show any information like it should. We have our corporate firewall configured to allow connections to the server apple uses for this service so that we can get the updates. Any suggestions?
That option is only available after upgrading to iOS 5. It appears you have a 2nd generation unit, which can not be upgraded beyond iOS 4.2.1.

I am stuck on 10.0 I have not received any updates since I installed FCPX last june. I can't find any links to the update on Apple's site and Software update doesn't show FCPX in its software list. What's the deal?

i have a HP HP Deskjet D4260 attached to my macs, but the 1.1.1. update doesn't show up in software update. (as 1.1 did)

that the update will only be visible if the printer is connected to your computer or a print queue has been created for an earlier version. well they are.
any suggestions here as i remember that with 1.1 there was only about 100mb installed of the total of 450mb.

here it states that the DeskjetD2400 series drivers are still at 2.3.2. but i thought that with these updates also general printing software is updated

I have problem when I updated iOS7 yesterday. At first, there was a message popped out in my Iphone 4 said "iOS7 available for u to update, then i clicked "update", then it said "wait while it verifying", after that my phone tuned blank and what i saw was only the "logo of apple". Any solution?You need to restart the phone in DFU mode and update the software.
To restart the phone in DFU mode press the power and home button simultaneously for like 10 seconds once the phone is switched off release the power button keep holding the home button while you connect to the computer which has Itunes running and then you can restore or update the software, you can download the update and connect after the software has been downloaded if your phone disconnects, And enjoy you new IOS7. -

OK the 5.0 update has been out for a day, but my itunes still doesn't show the 5.0 update ( wants to update to 4.2.10 which I skipped) available for my verizon iphone 4. Anyone know what is going on? Is it just my phone? Do I have to do the interim updates first?

I just bought a new iphone 5 and when i plugged my phone it to the computer it told me i needed the new itunes so i downloaded it and then the new itunes wouldn't open without the software 10.6.8 or later. I have the 10.5.8 software. How do I downlowd the new software. It doesn't come up on software updates either.

An iPhone 5 needs iTunes 11, and iTunes 11 requires Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, so upgrading to Snow Leopard will work.
First, check if your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 If it's supported, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Then, you have to make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner onto an external disk. After that, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, so insert the DVD and upgrade.
The DVD will install Mac OS X 10.6.3, so open > Software Update and install 10.6.8. You may need to run Software Update again in order to install iTunes 11 -

App store not showing up in software update.. Any work around for this?
When I run software update it runs and then says that all software is up to date. I don't have an option to install the app store.. Is there any other way to install it?
I totally understand the confusion. That's how I ended up here on the discussion. I am running 10.6.5, so according to Apple's instructions below, this should have worked. Apparently, they need to correct their instructions. Here's what the App Store page says about installing it:
The Mac App Store is available as a free software update for Mac computers running Mac OS X v10.6 or later. If you have an earlier version of Mac OS X, you will need to upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
1. Update your software.
Click the Apple icon, then choose Software Update. A dialog will appear on your desktop. Click the Install button in the dialog to begin the installation. You will be instructed to restart your Mac to complete the process.

I'm on Vacation with no access to my Mac. But had tried Sync. My software update is iOS 6.0.1. I've tried another WiFi network. I read your comment of deleting Apps for stuck update. So removed all Apps! Can't even install Free Apps. Now using my Kindle

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -
I have an iPhone 4 and for some reason I'm not able to update the software. I go to Settings then General but it doesn't even have a Software Update option. Am I missing something?
With iOS 4, the only way to update your software is connected to iTunes. OTA (over the air) updates were not available until iOS 5. You will need to connect your iPhone to a computer and use iTunes to download and install the iOS updates on your iPhone (at least until your iOS version is 5.0 or higher).
