Hi megates
Unfortunately you either need to install Windows across partition under BootCamp or take your device to a Nokia Care Point.

  • Leopard's iSync & Nokia N73

    Hi,
I used Leopard's (10.5.1) iSync flawlessly with my Nokia N73. But, when I upgraded N73's firmware to the 4.0735.3.0.2 version, iSync can't connect with N73.
I've tried to delete and recreate the pair between my MacBook Pro and the Nokia and it can't finish linking, with an infinite "Desovering device's services".

I upgraded my firmware on the N73 before seeing this thread & now have lost Bluetooth connectivity too. This is a big issue for me & found an interesting thread over on Nokia's forum: http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=connectivity&t hread.id=13559&view=bydateascending&page=1
It seems like Nokia are aware of the problem but putting their fingers in their ears & risking the migration of a whole lot of Mac users...

  • Using Nokia N73 phone to access mac mail

I can access my exchange emailat work using nokia n73 (supports imap4).
I want to configure my samrtphone to access mac mail. I have two .mac accounts, one for me and one for mi wife and I would like to do the same as I do with exchange at work (realy works fine!). Is it possible?
I have just turned to mac at home (1 mac g5 and imac)
    Thanks
    Valdes

If your phone has a built in eMail client that supports POP or IMAP mail or can run a Java app client (J2ME/MIDP2) then that should be fine. Might depend on your contract with sprint if you can use internet services.
I use a SonyEricsson K750i to access .Mac and my company eMail. I can send email and even attach pictures from the camera if i need to. Typing longer messages with T9 support is not really funny, but works.

Make sure that on the phone you connect in USB mass storage/data transfer mode (not PC Suite mode, for example).
In USB mass storage mode, all the drivers you need should already be there on your Mac (come with the OS).

  • Bluetooth + Nokia N73.. Not Working for me!!

I just installed Leopard on my Mac Pro. I am using a MSI Starkey3 bluetooth dongle. This USB dongle works fine in Tiger, but not in Leopard.
So far, I can pair my Motorola V3 and use it with the bluetooth connection (explorer content et iSync are working fine)... but I cannot do the same with my Nokia N73.
When I try to pair my Nokia N73 in Leopard, it does not continue after the "security" code... my Mac is still trying to connect to my Nokia N73... I have to stop bluetooth wizard.
I tried the same setup on a brand new iMac with Leopard installed... same problem... my Motorola V3 is working fine with bluetooth, but not my Nokia N73.
It seems to be a new bug with Leopard, unless someone has a solution to this problem...
Can anyone confirm the same problem on their Macs?

it's much better to search first, this message contains the same problemen and more info:

  • Nokia N73 - Birthdays + iCal + iSync = 2 day events

All day events in iCal are displaying on the Nokia N73 as expected, a single entry with the time displaying as:
    0:00 - 23:59
However Birthday's don't display correctly. Rather, they appear as two day events on the Nokia N73 with the time dislaying as:
23:00 - 23:59 on the first day of the two day event and
0:00 - 23:00 on the second day of the two day event
I can't for the life of me figure out why only Birthday's are not syncing as single day events with the 0:00 - 23:59 time stamp!?!?
    Anyone have any ideas please?
I know this often happens with Sony Ericsson phones if the daylight saving settings differ between computer and phone however I have ruled this out given that it is only happening with Birthdays.
Is anyone else in a position to perhaps test this on their Nokia phone? If so make sure you have a Birthday entry for someone in your Macs Address Book as well as having the "Show Birthdays calendar" setting checked in your iCal preferences and finally ensure you have the Birthdays calendar set to sync in iCal.
    Many thanks!

    You're blaming the wrong people.
    Maybe.
I'd like to know how I could enforce progress in the solution of theses problems, anyway.
These are mostly limitations in the phone. iSync can
only do what the phone is capable of.
Yes, there are limtations in the phone.
But there are more or less elegant ways to circumvent them.
2.1 Speed dials have never been synced. They are a
feature of the phone. Not iSync or the Mac Address
    Book.
    Yes, I agree.
But new with Tiger/iSync 2.4 is that they are deleted from the phone when syncing. This wasn't the case before.
2.2 Whitespaces? What do you mean?
I put spaces in my phone numbers for easier reading.
2.3 That's a limitation of the Nokia calendar.
    Yes, it is.
But iSync prior to 2.4 (or 2.3?) had a more elegant way of dealing with them.
Does the fact that you've tried iSync plugins from
THREE different sources not tell you that the problem
is with limitations in the phone NOT iSync?
Or it only tells me that plug-ins in general are not that powerful.
    The question remains to me:
What can be done to get this working properly?
    Any ideas?

  • ISync can't go along with Nokia N73

    Hi
I bought MacBook Pro last December! I love it so much! Yesterday, I bought a wonderful new handset Nokia N73. I learned the new update had put N73 into the iSync profile. When I add new device in iSync, everything is good. iSync show the name of the handset correctly. When I push the sync button, the connection was successfully. In the middle of the sync, iSync stop and pop out a log to tell me: your N73 handset have an accidental error, so the sync is fail. (I translate from Chinese!) Then I remove the device from iSync, then install device again, but fail still! I remove the bluetooth device again and again, and fail again and again! I try many times in different ways, but fail in one way: accidental error!
So, I guess, the handset might got problem. So, I start Parallel virtual machine in Windows XP. I download the PC software(Windows version) from Nokia website. I plug the USB line to MBP from N73. Amazingly, everything goes so well!
Could you help me to tell me what's happened? How can I fix the difficulty! It is the first time, I feel frustration about MBP. Your prompt reply is highly appreciated!

It's unbelievable...but that did not work either. I have tried it all sorts of ways, by creating a new calendar when asked, putting it under my mac email address (which ends up just churning and not doing anything at all), opening iCal first and importing, just doubleclicking the exported file...but the message on iSync continues to tell me it cannot find a "writable file". Any further thoughts on how to solve this?

  • Nokia n73 and Apple iSync problems

    hello all,
I have a nokia N73 and an Apple macbook computer. I've been able to sync my n73 with my Apple (calendar and address book). It works for about 1 week and then stops working. I've tried deleting the n73 from iSync and installing it again (using both USB and Bluetooth). Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, which is really annoying.
I have Mac OS X version 10.4.10. and iSync version 2.4 (501.2). i did not install any plugins because this version of iSync and Mac OS X are supposed to be compatible, but I have not been able to make them work.
    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Cleidson de Souza

    Hello,
I have an iMac G5 with OS X 10.4.11, iSync 2.4, and an N73 Music Edition (not sure whether this makes a difference).
I modified a config file several months ago (I forget the details, but I copy and pasted the entry for a phone with the same operating system, called it N73 et voila.)
If I plug the N73 into the iMac via the USB cable and try and sync (after selecting PC Suite on the phone), connection fails. Every time.
However, if I power off the phone, and power it back on, then connect the USB cable and select PC Suite, synchronisation works perfectly!
I cannot explain why, but rebooting the phone enables iSybc to work every time. Answers on a postcard to...
    I hope this helps,
    Andrew.
PS. Selecting Mass Storage (instead of PC Suite) creates a new drive in Finder, which enables you to quickly and easily copy music/picture/video files to/from the iMac.

are sure battery has enough power?
if try hard reset your phone, turn off your phone then try this
press and hold Green key (call) + Star (*) key + num 3 key, while pressing those keys turn on your phone. Release those three keys when phone shows "Nokia" logo.
P.S. Hard reset will erase all data on your phone memory. Please backup your important data.
DON'T BACKUP SETTINGS, SETTINGS MAY CONTAIN ERRORS.

  • Can't Get Bluetooth connection to my Nokia n73

    Hi,
I've been trying to get my Nokia N73 to sync with my mac, but it never gets connection either if I try from the phone or from the mac. I can get till to the step where I have to enter the password on the phone. From there on I've never got the connection between them.

    Hi,
I have got a Bluetooth connection working with a Nokia N73 and recently a N95. In both cases I had to initiate the pairing from the Mac.
One thing I have noticed with the Bluetooth connection to the N95 though, is that it is painfully slow when copying music over.
    Cheers,
    Andy

  • Sync Nokia N73

My Nokia N73 firmware was recently upgraded. Before the upgrade, I can pair and connect isync and N73 via bluetooth successfully. However, after the upgrade, I can now only pair the device but N73 always show not connected in bluetooth window. I typed in the passkey in N73 but the Bluetooth Setup Assistant keeps waiting forever gathering additional information about the mobile phone.
Do you know what's going wrong? I am frustrated.
    Bluetooth assistant v2.1f17

thanks for all of these informations. So we are not alone.
Remember I told you that for my previous N73 I upgraded to Version 4.0812.4.0.1 (before the upgrade of the nokia firmware it had worked very fine) ? btw I did in order to get better performances and this is true, phone ran faster and was more stable.
Today I got a brand new N73 (not upgraded yet). By the way, these new models can be upgraded online from the mobile phone itself if you own 3G access.
Well unfortunately this is the same status : The brand new phone comes with V 4.0735.3.2 !!! and it does not work.
you can not browse the phone using bluetooth from the mac, you can NOT send any file. From the mobile you can not even "connect" to your mac.
The only thing I've been able to do is to PAIR the device but with a strange behaviour :
the "bluetooth Setup Assistant" is stuck to the same screen just after he had succeeded with the pairing. So no confirmation screen, nothing.
(btw same behaviour with newest firmware from nokia too!)
and moreover, I can't do "add device" to iSYNC !
he said : 1 device found
"iSync cannot connect to this device"
!! so it has something to do with any version from V 4.0735.3.2 and later release ?
Well, if we can't do any bluetooth exchanges of files, that we can not browse and sync it, we really need nokia and apple to check it together because something has been changed recently that make the n73 useless with apple computers.
I would suggest to all of us that we qualify the issue :
(to be sure we are suffering the exact same behaviour)
1 ) erase any iSync profile (remove device) of any N73 phone
2 ) erase any bluetooth N73 profile from the bluetooth assistant
3 ) unpair the N73 and apple computer
now we are back to the beginning as if we just bought a new nokia phone or new apple computer.
1 ) identify N73 firmware version / MAC OSX version / Computer Architecture
2 ) disable - enable bluetooth from the phone and also from the apple computer (trying to reset any link)
3 ) Use "set up bluetooth device" : the "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" will now appear - Then select "Mobile Phone" and "continue"
4 ) Your phone bluetooth name should appear, select it then "continue"
5 ) Next screen appear, "continue"
6 ) now you have to pair your phone. The assistant will give you a code to enter to your mobile phone. That should work but should also be slow and looks to "hang" while "Gathering additional information about your mobile phone" --> you can see animated "sun" showing that it is "in progress". In a normal condition, it should be quick and you should get a positive confirmation that the setup has been done properly.
7 ) we are still stuck to the same screen and the animated "sun" is still animated (bottom right).
8 ) The bluetooth icon on the right of the mobile screen has no bracket (it means it is not connected) so what is doing the assistant ??
9 ) Don't close the Assistant yet. You can verify that the phone has been installed to your MAC OS X "bluetooth" menu or from the "bluetooth preferences" panel. Let the Assistant opened anyway...
10 ) Since the component are paired and the phone is available from the MAC OSX bluetooth menu you can try to send a file to the phone or browse it, also check that the phone is now available into iSync etc...
--> as you can see it is not working. After many attempts and 2 tested nokia firmwares on an up to date Mac OS X computer, it is not working anymore. Oh and by the way, the assistant is still stuck to the same "pairing" screen with the same animated icon... it is now ten minutes runnning...
so I am thinking that since firmware 4.0735.3.2 the issue appeared.
Can you all do the same troubleshoot test so we can prevent NOKIA or APPLE support engineers to request us for the same data in a loop ?
By this we can force Nokia to test the firmwares (it is not only iSync specific issue as we can see) and maybe ask Apple to support us.
yeah you as you know that Apple updates are automatically delivered so we never know if something could have been modified in the bluetooth driver these last week...
to resume : I had tested 2 firmwares, bluetooth feature "send/browse file" does not work. I let you follow this to be sure I am not a single customer with such issue.

why the nokia n73 me not support N-Gage games ???????
    Nokia N73, product code 0539295
    Version:  4.0839.42.2.1

Ngage has been around for quite a while now and has been "coming soon" for the N73 for as long as I can remember.
If they're taking this long to adapt it to the N73 it's almost certainly because they're having difficulty streamlining it to work on such a poorly-equipped handset.
Don't get me wrong. I think the N73's a great little device and I love mine. It's just not up to the task of a gaming platform.
