Mac OS X Leopard Wiki not editable by Firefox 4.0.1

We are running Mac OS X Leopard with the latest updates. When cklicking on the edit button on a wiki page in Firefox 4.0.1 the edit toolbar appears, however the content does not become editable and it is not possible to change it. Does anybody know how to address that issue without telling users to use a different browser?
Thanks, Grega

one thing I see right away is that your computer does not meet min reqs for leopard. leopard requires at least 512MB RAM and you've got just 256MB. In fact, I recommend you get at least 1 MB of RAM if you plan to run any programs at all besides the OS itself. this might be the reason why you are getting kernel panics and can not boot from the DVD.

  • I imported M2T into CS4 Premier Pro on Mac OSX Snow Leopard does not play

I imported several M2T files into CS4 Premier Pro on Mac OSX Snow Leopard, the files import just fine and when I double click on them, I see the video in the preview panel. However when I hit play, nothing happens. It does not play, just sits on the first frame. Even when I drop it into the timeline, same thing happens. Does not play but if I export what I put into the timeline, the video exported is fine. So I can't edit it, because I cant see where to put edit points. I really need help, need to get this project done asap.

I have fixed this problem myself by searching the forum with argument "playback" "playback_issue". This a known problem. Go to link for a solution http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/playback-stops-loops-soundbooth-premiere.html
    Thanks to myself.

  • Mac Os X Leopard will not boot.

I am running leopard on a mac book pro. When I boot it it loads to the screen with the apple, fowling that it is stuck in a look at a blue screen with the progress gear.
I have tried going to the disk utility on the install disk. Repair worked, permissions repair did not. It gave me the error "Disk Utility stopped repairing permissions on "Macintosh HD" because the following error was encountered:
The underlying task reported failure on exit."
This is quite frustrating since my laptop is only about 1 month old.
    Help me please, Jacob

Figured it out, I figure I will post the solution for future reference.

  • Mac OS X Server wiki not accessible

    Hi,
while I can read wiki pages on OS X server, I cannot edit them on the iPad. Is there a way?
    Regards,
    Torsten

FWIW, we made some progress on this. Looks like there is team server code in /usr/share/collaboration/javascript/wiki.js that checks for iPads and disables the edit toolbar:
    insertAtBeginning(Builder.node('div', {id:'toolbars', className:'toolbars', style:(SafariFixes.isiPad ? 'visibility:hidden' : '')}, [this.mMainToolbar, this.mEditToolbar]), 'page_toolbar');
If one changes "(SafariFixes.isiPad ? 'visibility:hidden' : '')" to simply an empty string '', and then restarts the team server, then one can get the toolbar to show up. (Actually, you have to change this text in the compressed version of the wiki.js file, "compressed_wiki.js", since that is the one that is actually used by the team server.)
Once the toolbar is there, you can click on it and enter edit mode. However, the Safari browser (webkit?) does not know enough to enable editing there. Clicking in the edit region does not bring up the keyboard.
So, it seems that editing team server pages within the web browser is not supported. Other wikis we use (e.g., Twiki) work just fine; in edit mode, those bring up the keyboard. But team server does not seem to interact right in iOS, whether with Safari (Webkit) or Opera Mini. Strange...

  • Just upgraded to MAC OSX Snow Leopard still not up to date, what now?

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and still having problems with Java and Flash saying system is not up to date to run programs,

You can check if you have the latest version of flash from the system preferences tab.
Running software update should update you to the latest version of java.
You have run software update haven't you?
If not you will have lots of stuff which is not up to date.
You will need to run it several times too, as some things cannot be updated until other stuff is.
Once you've got no more updates (and of course restarts) to do, make sure to run disk utility and repair permissions.

  • Mac os X leopard will not install on fresh partition :S

Just recently before a Genius Bar appointment, I thought I'd reinstall Leopard for them so they wouldn't have to mess around with anything in the system that I modded (software wise, like changing the dock XD). I pop the disk in, and is tells me that OS X can't boot from the partition. I zeroed out the data, twice. No luck. I can't be using this crappy windows install forever. HALP!

You insert the Leopard DVD and reboot and hold down the "C" key. Then you reinstall the OS from there. Choose Erase and Install (option on page after language screen).

  • Now that my Mac OSX v10.5 is not supported by Firefox, and I'm not ready to buy a new computer, what are my options?

I'm wondering if I can, or should, upgrade to 10.8 Mountain Lion?????  Or, should I switch to Safari?  There is not much stored on my computer except for usually about 500 pictures.

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard — Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service — this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion — System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • Mac OS 10.5.6 - Not compatible with Firefox? "not supported by architecture" message

I just had OS updated on a Power Book - following a hard-drive crash, now running 10.5.6 - Tried to download/install Firefox 4 - get a "not compatible with this architecture" message upon launch. Any suggestions?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party build that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Post Leopard/Safari Not Good and Firefox Is Much Faster /Why?

I have used Safari for years. After Leopard install, it seemed slower and often never fully loads,
I experimented with Firefox and it loads fine and is much faster
I have even run them at the same time side by side ... Safari is slow, doesn't load fully and Firefox goes to it.
So it's not my airport connection. Anyone know?
Also when is a delete and reinstall in order as I have had problems with Itunes, ICal, Safari, Disk Utility, Address Book etc. I have been taking them down one by one but it is very time consuming and not 100%

  • TungstenE2 to Mac 10.5 Leopard -Installers won't work -

The installers ,Mac revisions for Leopard will not let me load any software. I can hotsync,I can get basic palm stuff to go on but I can't get anything new on. It says proper installers not loaded onto palm. Is there a new,new revision for Mac that I can be steered to? Thanks
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

    Hi
It should not take more than an hour and a half from putting the installer disk into the drive, letting it install, providing relevant information at the Setup Assistant phase to getting to the Desktop. Thereafter 20-40 minutes to download and install all relevant updates followed by a double restart and you should be starting to configure the DNS Service in roughly two hours.
Can you humour us and go through the procedure you used (what you actually did) from the Setup Assistant stage? For the purposes of your response detail what you did when choosing Advanced. I understand your frustration but it really should not be that difficult. Perhaps there are some key concepts you don't fully understand the implications of? For your mail config try not to obscure your domain name please.
Failing that there must be some intermittent hardware faults on all three of the units you used. Which is unlikely. The fact you got it installed on two yet the mail service showed the same fault on both occasions suggest - and I don't mean anything by this - a misconfiguration on your part somewhere or a lack of understanding on what is required?
Have you tried downloading and reading relevant admin manuals?
    http://www.apple.com/server/macosx/resources/
Have you tried browsing these forums for relevant advice on how to start from scratch and what is involved? Seriously there are plenty of threads that walks you through the whole process or at the least should give you some idea on how to approach the whole thing.
Please note any advice I give or may give is only applicable to Advanced. If you are choosing either of the other two offerings I can't help you.

  • Inputtext rendered but not editable

What is the property that makes a field to be rendered in a JSF but not editable. It only appears as an image where you can not click.
My fild has rendered by default (true), and Disabled by default (false).
The JSF is not autbinded to any JavaBean then I don't know why it can appear as erndered but disabled.
This happens when I create a new record. Some fields apper like this and others appear normal and can be edited.
    Any suggestion ?

I annex the piece of jspx that generates the problem.
All this objects are inside a panel box. If I remove the inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" in the panel box and leave it with the standar height, all fileds in the first two columns are not editable in firefox. In ie sometimes are editable, others are not (random) but this always happen only when I create a new record. The fields in the third column (the last one) are always editable.
If I leave the inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" then all fileds are correctly editable in both browsers.
The problem is that inlineStyle="height:250.0px;" generates a very high pael box and is not beautiful. My users will complain about this.
It seems as the botton part of the panel box geneerates a kind of shadown inside it that makes all the items in this shadow not to be editable.
The fileds in the botton part of the panel box can be made editable while the ones in the upper side are not if you make the panel box high enough for this "shadow" to affect only the booton fields.
Horrible ! Perhaps a kind of bug ?

I have a brand new sony e reader prs 600 it is supported but I am unable to see it on the bookmark pane in my new Mac with Snow Leopard is it something to do with Snow leopard?  Or why can I not see my sony e reader?  thank you

According to the Adobe website ADE 1.7.1 is compatible with Mac if you
look at system requirements and with the Sony reader if you look at
supported devices.  Though it doesn't mention Macs latest O/S.
and if I download an Adobe digital editions book, can I then move it
to Sony's ebook software, or is the format unsupported on the Sony
    Ereader?

  • How do I install OS 10.7 NOT 10.7.5 on a mac running Snow Leopard 6.8  i.e. where can I find the original install app for Lion OS 10.7.0?

I'm running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard fine on my MacPro1,1, Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 2.66 GHz  Mac, but I need to install Lion 10.7.0 to run a program I need. How do I install OS 10.7 NOT 10.7.5, because I get this message when I try to install 10.7.5, which I've downloaded:"This update requires Mac OS X version 10.7." on a mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, So i need to install the original 10.7.0 over the 10.6.8  i.e. where can I find the original install app for Lion OS 10.7.0? The original Lion 10.7. is not avaialable for purchase from the App store or anywhere,  even C-Net . Where can I find it to purchase?
Also it seems I cannot install Mountain Lion over 10.6.8 as advertised. When I go to purchase I get this message: "We could not complete your purchase. OS X Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer."   I think my computer can handle it (specs above) Are there any workarounds to this?

If you're getting a "This update requires Mac OS X version 10.7" message, than you have the updater and not the full installer. Go to your Purchases section of the Mac App Store and you should see the full version there. But it may be 10.7.5, though in my system is shows as being from 2011 which would appear to be the original version.
As to Mountain Lion, that's supported only on the Early 2008 Mac Pro or newer.

  • Why leopard DVD not installing to powerbook G4 with Mac OS X 10.3.9? Help.

    gzleearl,
Once an OS has been installed, the point upgrades, such as 10.1.x to 10.1.5 (Final) 10.2.x to 10.2.8 (Final), 10.3.x to 10.3.9 (Final), 10.4.x to 10.4.11 (Final), and 10.5.x to 10.5.6 (Pending), can be downloaded for free.
If your Mac meets the Leopard System Requirements, the Full Retail Version, of the Leopard Install DVD, can be purchased at The Apple Store (U.S.), Apple retail stores, Apple resellers, and some Online vendors.
If you know what to look for a Full Retail Version, of the Leopard Install DVD, can be purchased, sometimes less expensively, at some online Apple retailers, Amazon, eBay, FastMac, HardCore Mac, etc.
As you have discovered be sure not to purchase grey, upgrade or machine specific CDs or DVDs.
Tiger and Leopard are on DVD.
The disc should look exactly like the images in the above links, and not say Upgrade, CPU Drop-in DVD, or "This software is part of a hardware bundle purchase - not to be sold seperately." on it.
    Caveat Emptor!
If any are presently available, examine these items very carefully, and if in doubt, ask questions of the seller before purchase!
    Leopard On eBay
Once Leopard 10.5.x.x is installed, you can use the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update to upgrade to the current version.
You may also find this Leopard Installation and Setup Guide PDF useful.
The posted RAM System Requirement is the bare minimum.
For optimum performance, more is recommended.
As a precaution, before upgrading the OS, you should create a backup of the entire system, or at least, any data you do not wish to lose or corrupt.
In addition to the Archive & Install procedure, there is also a Simple Upgrade, or an Erase & Install option.
Review the info here About Installation Options.
Specifically; "About Upgrade to Mac OS X
Upgrading to Mac OS X takes a little longer than installing it on a volume without Mac OS X, but it is the least intrusive way to install--most of your existing settings and applications are left untouched during an upgrade. In other words, you won't have to configure a lot of settings afterwards."
