I was looking through our aricles about what you may be experiencing and recommend resetting your SMC and your PRAM.
To reset your SMC on an iMac you would use this article Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964.
Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
To reset the PRAM use this article named About NVRAM and PRAM found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

My Mac OS Lion 10.7 FileVaulted HD does not boot, prohibitory sign, stop sign appears some minutes after boot starts. Disk Utility repair shows four error messages:
Unable to bootstrap transaction group 2517: inconsistent crosscheck
No valid commit checkpoint found
The volume xxxxxxxxxxxxxx(here it shows physical volume number) was found corrupt and can not be repaired.
Problems were encountered during repair of the partition map
Error: Storage system verify or repair failed.
(the same with 2518, 2519 and 2520 transaction group)
I suppose it is serious bug in Mac OS Lion managing FileVault and wonder what the help could be?Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.

Have loaded lion and now can't access office for mac or apple works as it says it does not support power pc applications, how can I acces them or better still reinstate them please?
MS-Office for Mac versions 2004 and older do not run in Lion since these are PPC-apps for which Apple has dropped support.

I have a Mac desktop OSX Version 10.7.4 upgraded to Lion to use iCloud. Now my Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac/Build 5.0.9376 using Windows 7 does not open. What upgrade of Parallels do I need to make this work? Or what do I need to do at this point?

You have set everything up - entered apple id, are connected to the Internet, Mac os x lion update installed enabling iCloud, etc?

I have a desktop mac operating on Mac OSx 10.4.11 and the system does not recognize my iphone and I am unable to upgrade to the newest itunes version. What do I need to do?
Backup first
It is always best to have a full bootable backup before you upgrade. If you fail to do this you will be unable to return to this OS if you decide you don't like the new OS. Also there is a slight chance that an install could lose everything on the Mac. The backup must be to an external hard disk. Preferably use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup of the whole disk.
Erase before the install
Once you have a bootable backup on an external disk it is best to erase the internal disk with the new installer DVD before you install.
During the install
Preferably do not import any data or preferences from earlier OSs during the install process as this can reintroduce bugs.

OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard

Upgrade to Leopard
Those wishing to upgrade to Leopard should be aware that install disks can be expensive unless you contact Apple. Upgrade beyond Leopard
OSs beyond OS X 10.5.8 require an Intel processor. If in doubt check this: Click the apple at the top left of your screen and select 'About this Mac'. This will give you your OS number. Then click 'More Info' to see which processor you have. If it says PowerPC you cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard and above. I have a Samsung 32GB sdhc class 10 micro card but my mac(intel) running OSX 10.9.1 maverick does neither read or recognise the card apple have no answer?
I have the same problem with a 32GB SanDisk card. In fact, I have the same problem with all my SDHC cards—none of them are recognised by Mavericks (10.9.2 here). I'm on an early 2011 MBP.
In order to get images and video from my camera I have to tether it and upload via the camera.
Prior to Mavericks I was on Lion, where the same SDHC cards mounted with no problems. -
I bought a new MacBook Pro (Mac Os 10.8.4) when conecting my mobile broadband dongle (Huawei E122) the computer does not read it at all. I do not have problems when connecting it to my former computer (PC) and a Mac from last year. Any suggestions?

Yes, I did that. They have uppgrades for the dongles, but just untill Mac Os 10.7. Their solution is to buy a new modem from them or getting one for free if I sign a contract for 24 months! So, i think from that side not very helpful.
It is just that I do not want to buy a new modem, when it works in quite recent computers and after having spent money in the new Mac.

How do i share itunes music? I have a Mac and she is on Windows. She does not have an iTunes or iCloud ID.
You could install iTunes on her PC, then sign in using your ID and activate her computer (iTunes menu bar: Store Authorize This Computer) in order to download your previous purchased media files.

hello im currently using....iMAC snowleopard 10.6.8
3.06 GHz intel i3i need some help please....my mac acceppts cds and dvds... my drive is located at the right of the screen.....but no icon appears in desktop and finder......also...it does not read....any cd....does not read any dvd either.....it ejects the cds after a while on its own....also it does not burn any cd.....wen i tried....errors with 0x06 ....medium errors,....show up.....also...i tried reinstalling the mac os.....but when i restart the pc...and...keep C key pressed...the cd just gets ejected.....can someone please help me with this problem?????? i contacted APPLE too.. but they said it must be a software problem......also no apple macbookair superdrive does not get connected to the mac either.....PLEASE HELP!!!!

Mac computers - FF 29.0 and 30.0 does not display the video layer in the Revolution Slider section of WordPress site. Why?
We prepared simple Word Press web site. We used a Revolution slider plugin with HTML5 video layer. It works properly on Chrome, Safari, older Mozilla FF.
But we had a problem on PC computers with FF 29.0 30.0 – after reinstall of browser everthing seems to be OK. The slider works. Unfortunately even the reinstallation on Mac computers does not help. There is no visible video on Mac FF 30.0.
We are looking for some information what we can do to solve this problem. Could you help?Can you play the video on YouTube?

Hello, I am trying to reinstall Mac OSX, but my computer does not read installation cd. After restart, I hold C but either eject cd or doesn't read and computer boots up normally. I even ordered a new pack of installation cd, but still the same problem. Is there anybody can help me fixing this issue, because my Macbook pro has lots of software problem and when I spoke to tech, they said it needs to reformat and reinstall the OSX to solve all my problems. Please help me to reinstall my OSX!
Possible solutions:
You need to hold the c key down before booting
You need to use the built in keyboard, you have other hardware connected
You need the machine specific 10.6.4+ disks for that machine, the retail 10.6.3 disks won't work
There is a firmware password on the machine preventing the at boot key command functions
Try the option key for Startup Manager to boot from the disk, right after the "bong"
Your Superdrive lense is dirty or not operating, other hardware issues
You have malware of some sort
