Mac os x lion installation give negative times and keep growing?

Why my mac os x lion installation give negative times and keep growing?
Please help me since i've already try to install more then 10 times and wait until -2 hours but the problem still persist.

On the bottom of your MBP should be a serial number.  Enter it here and post back the model/year information:

Do you already have Lion installed or are trying to install it to replace another OSX?  If you are replacing, which OSX is currently installed?
Ciao.

I am on Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)and keep getting Safari is not responding?
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256 MB

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

trying to install itunes on win 8.1.  keep getting error apple application support not found.  asks me to uninstall and install itunes.  i tried several times and keep getting same error.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes numerous times and keep getting the message it reinstalled incorrectly stating windows Error 127.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes numerous times and keep getting the message it reinstalled incorrectly stating windows Error 127.  I am using windows 7

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
You may have more success if you use the advice in the Install missing components section to break down the installer into its component .msi files and install these in alphabetical order.

When I try to update an app in the App Store i get a message "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"  I have tried many many times and keep getting the same message.  How do I resolve?

First take the steps recommended in this support article. If there's no change, continue as follows.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.cookies
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Hi Dann, did you delete to the Recycle Bin, or did you do a more drastic permanent delete (e.g., Shift+Delete) or empty the Recycle Bin?
''If you think it might be in the Recycle Bin:''
First, make sure hidden folders are viewable. You can do that using Windows Explorer or My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Look for the radio buttons to show or not to show hidden files and folders.
Now look for C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles or some part of that path, or your actual profile folder, which would have had a semi-random name, typically ending with default, or the bookmarkbackups folder, which is the ultimate prize.
''If it's not in the Recycle Bin:''
To recover your old Firefox settings folder (profile folder), try using a utility like Piriform's Recuva:
    http://www.piriform.com/recuva
That needs to run ASAP before deleted files are overwritten.
The folder you're looking for would have had a semi-random name, but be located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
By default, that folder is hidden. Make sure hidden folders are viewable. You can do that using Windows Explorer or My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab. Look for the radio buttons to show or not to show hidden files and folders.
In particular, a bookmarkbackups folder would be a wonderful thing to be able to recover.
Hopefully one of these methods will work for you.

Since posting the above - I have now tried downloading the update on my iPhone rather than via iTunes, and its just worked and installed and seems fine! Was a lot quicker as well than the download time via iTunes

  • Ps CS6 + Mac OS X Lion - Installation Fails at 2%

OK, this is for the Adobe depolyment team.  Since you've decided to create what I can only describe as the world's most convoluted file-based installer, you've also created a vast array of conditions that will cause the installation to fail.
The latest among these failures is the following:
    * Downloaded Ps CS6 and attempted to install.  Installer hung for about 30 minutes, although files were being written.  Never finished.
    * Force quit the AAM; then, it wouldn't open again until the computer had been restarted.  (Hint:  Give us a manifest of files that the installer writes to disk so that we can clean up after it when it fails.)
    * Upon reboot, AAM Installer will open, but fails at 2%.  The "error summary" - and it is just that, very brief - says:  "ASU has quit unexpectedly."
Slightly more helpful information is in /private/tmp/oobelib.log.  This looks bad:
PCDService: Failed to read value for key [Photoshop-CS6-Mac-PR] in hive [FA_Set] from cache : 769
And so does this (but maybe it's just the grammar):
2012-03-22 14:13:55 [885]  OOBELib: Dispatch table file doesnot exists.
So, it would be nice to have or know:
    * A complete manifest of files that the Adobe AAM Installer creates DURING installation so that we can manually clean up after it when it fails.
    * A decent log file that references the PATHS TO THE FILES that cause problems.  Telling me that you can't read a key from a database (or "hive" as you like to call it) isn't helpful if I don't know where that database is located in the filesystem.
    * In English, you make the emphatic "tense" by conjugating the verb "to do," but not the verb of emphasis.  For example, these are correct:
The file exists. (Notice that we conjugated the verb "to exist" for the third person singular of the present indicative.)
The files exist.  (Third-person plural of present indicative.)
The file does exist.  (When using the emphatic tense, we conjugate "to do," but make no adjustment to "exist.")
The files do exist.  (Third-person plural present indicative in emphatic mood.)
    Adding the adverb "not":
    The file does not exist.
    The files do not exist.
It is also possible to use a contraction:
does not exist = doesn't exist
do not exist = don't exist

  • Mac OS X Lion Installation via App Store

I have a 13" MBP with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and have downloaded Mac OS X Lion from the app store (I had purchased it about a year ago). However, I am not able to begin installation after the download finished. I can see OS X Lion under "Purchases" but there is no "Install" button available. All I see is a grayed out "Downloaded" button. Do I have to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion in order to proceed? I would appreciate any help on installing the already downloaded Mac OS X Lion.
    Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
As you have downloaded OS X Lion, you should find the OS X Lion installer on the Dock, so press it and follow the steps. If you don't see it, open Finder, select Applications on the sidebar and open Install Mac OS X Lion. If you can't see it, disconnect all peripherals, press Command and Space keys to access to Spotlight, type "Install Mac OS X Lion" and open the installer

  • Mac Os X lion installation not working.

os x lion installation not working, when the installation bar comes to 99% a pop up widow tells me that the installation has failed and the file could be damaged or something. But i just downloaded it from appstore. Any ideas?

Here's an update on my problem:
Called Apple Support the other day. They basically told me that they can't help, because this is a problem of misconfiguration and that those kinda things weren't covered. Still the person on the line gave me a hint, I should look for leftovers of previously installed software in /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and /Library/LaunchAgents/ .
Well, that did the trick. In one of the folders I found "net.shrew.iked.plist". This file obvioulsy belongs to the ShrewSoft VPN client. I removed it and the built-in client works again.
I reinstalled ShrewSoft one more time to see if it works without the mentioned plist-file...needless to say it wouldn't connect anymore, but that's alright with me - for now.

  • Mac Book Air Lion OS version 10.7 and Adobe

Hi everyone.  I brought a Mac Book Air Notebook recently (Lion OS/version 10.7) and I am having problems to watch the youtube videos. Any suggestion? Thanks.

Marietta, YouTube also plays video in non-flash formats. You can install the Safari Click to Flash extension to play video in a native format. The benefit is you will have a longer batter run time when watching YouTube videos.
    You can get it here:
