I updated to Mac OS X Mountain Lion and now my Numbers file has a pink background color instead of white with black text. How do I fix it?

Last week I've install Mac OS X Mountain Lion and then after the installation finish my IMAC start up in verbose mode. How can I turn off this mode and start my IMAC normally. I've try to key in the code "sudo nvram boot-args=" in terminal also.

Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.

Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.

What you posted is rather vague. By doesn't work do you mean the applications don't open at all or are you getting a message stating that your product needs activation? If it's product activation then that is something that Microsoft will have to assist you with. If your problem is that the applications simply won't open you may have to uninstall and reinstall Office again. This is common on the Windows platform too. Rarely when you upgrade to a new OS Office sometimes has an issue with the upgrade and won't open correctly. I would suggest merely uninstalling and reinstalling. Nine times out of ten that helps. -
Havinig a lot of problems with my MacBook since I've upgraded to the Mac OS X Mountain Lion program. Can someone tell me if it's possible to reset my computer back to factory settings?
Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
Step One - Back up your data:
A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right
side.
4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be
sure to opt for that.
Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal
startup drive.
Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See.What to do with iCloud before selling your computer
Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
4. Install OS X.
5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
6. Shutdown the computer.
B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because
it is three times faster than wireless.
1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
Utilities window appears.
2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click
on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
*If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License. -

To my knowledge the iPod can only be used as a secondary monitor since you have to boot up the Mac and turn on the secondary display. You would still need a KB and pointing device for the Mac
However, you can log into the Mini from an iOS device like an iPad using app like LogMeIn, GoTo MyPC or TeamViewer on both the Mac and the iPad. You use the touch screen on the iPad for all control of the Mac.
As you said,that would be tedious for a lot of typing but you could use a BT keyboard for the iPad. -

I purchased Mac OS X Lion yesterday. This seems to have created a number of changes in my Mac. One of the major issues is that my Hotmail is not working well. In particualr, now I can not send attachments in Hotmail. Help and suggestions are welcome.

I upgraded my mac software to mountain lion and lost my iPhoto and all my photos in it!
I stupidly updated my software om my macboook pro to be able to set up icloud.
Now it says I can no longer access Iphoto (so ALL of my photos are suddenly gone!!??!!)
I read that people are just down;loading iphoto again and can access all their old stuff so
I've downloaded iPhoto from the appstore and now have a pop up saying:
"The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iphoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade."
I'm scared to hit 'upgrade' and not be able to access my old photos...

The only way to avoid losing your photos sooner or later is a good, constant backup like Time Machine

Can you help me pleaseWell, this isn't a download window, it's an installer window. You need to select one of your hard drive volumes on which to install Lion.
Your computer's main drive apparently has been used by you for TM backups which is a first class "no no." See: OS X v10.6, OS X Lion- Cannot install Mac OS X v10.6 or later on a volume used by Time Machine for backups. -
Why I can't login to iMessage on my Mac os X mountain lion?
When i try to login to imessage it says "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."

I'm using mac os x mountain lion and the last version of iMessageBut why was I able to upload the photos some of the time, but not all of the time? I could upload right after I installed the firefox for several days, but then all of a sudden it didn't work any more. There must be a way to do it. I was told by MRIS that using firefox works for most users. What could be the problem for me? I think I have the newest version of firefox.

I have recently upgraded my Mac OS to Mountain Lion, and am using Photoshop CS3 together with Lightroom 5. To my absolute horror, in either Adobe program I am no longer able to access the dialog box which allows me to choose paper type, size, and print quality when attempting to print on my Epson Stylus Photo 1400. An excruciating hour on the phone with largely unintelligible folks at Epson seemed to prove the problem lies with Adobe instead of Epson. I'd greatly appreciate whatever advice might be forthcoming from the Community.

"I found a way around this problem. GO to HD/Library/Printers/Epson/InkjetPrinter/ICCProfiles and you will find a file labeled Pro38.profiles. This is a package file. Control click on it and reveal contents. Then you can copy all the profiles and paste them into your Colorsync folder either in the HD/Library folder or your own Home folder/Library. Then the profiles will show up in Photoshop and Lightroom."
Key, is to Control click on the printer to "Open contents". Then open Resource folder. Copy everything in it and then paste it into the "Colorsync" folder in your Library. (Remember, to get to Library you have to hold the command key down for it to appear in "Go" Menu for Finder.
Then I reinstalled printer driver from Apple, then rebooted computer, then plugged in printer. And VOILA-- I can now select Epson Premium Photo Paper Luster! -
updated my mac to mountain lion 10.7.8.3 and now my app store, mail or facetime won't open. Also, I am not longer able to play videos through firefox. I tried downloading the combo for mountain lion and it refuses to install saying that I need to see developer. Whenever I try to open my appstore, mail or facetime it says that the programmes need to be installed and might not be compatible with this version of mac operating system. Can anyone help me?
It's not a bad install of Mountain Lion. I've had the same thing happen to me, but it affected not only Mail, but a variety of other programs including iPhoto and MS Office, where I had to delete preferences, caches, and reinstall the OS as well as the program itself. I'm still having issues with Mail, so I've gone to another program.
Everything was fine upon the initial install. I restarted my iMac about two weeks after the install, and that's when the issues began to happen. I've reinstalled Mountain Lion twice, but the same issues arise.
As I mentioned above, you'll need to figure out which preferences are causing the issue, then reinstall the program, as a fresh reinstallation will do you no good unless you wipe the drive completely.

I have both Mac OS Mountain Lion and Windows 8.1 32-bit installed....The machine is Macbook Mid 2009...Whatever i do i can't install and use bootcamp on the Windows side.........Apple Support says it only supports Windows 64-bit which my machine cannot install.......and when i tried to install Bootcamp 4 it says it only supports Windows 7 .........Is there no way to install and use Bootcamp without buying another computer?

Bookmarks are not syncing to ONE of my Macs, but showing up on other Mac (work), iPhone 4 and iPad 1. Macs are on Mountain Lion. Tried all of Apple's suggestions - and the one Mac is still not updating/syncing Bookmarks or Reading List. What's going on? Do I have to wait to OS update? It seems lots of peolple were having issues before ML, but I as fine. Since ML, I am having all kinds of issues!
Yeah, I literally have tried everything except deleting my iCloud account (I'm close, but that would require so many changes that it is way too painful to consider at this point).
I am still waiting to hear back from Apple Support. Hopefully something can be done, or they can do a reset on their end.

I've reset my PPAM before to get around Firmware lock, but I've upgraded to mountain lion and now need to do the same thing, but I can't reset the PRAM. I've heard of the chip that is on the post 2011 macs, but I must not have one? What to do? Also, I can not get start up chimes unless I have the factory startup disk in. Can the PRAM be reset with the factory startup disk in or must the mac boot from the hard drive? Need help.

If you buy a new Mac with Mountain Lion, any included software is free and can be redownloaded from AppStore for that machine only. Some software only gets reinstalled if OS X (only) gets installed over itself to fix issues. See #8 Step here.

If you upgrade to Mavericks usually only OS X itself is changed (sometimes the hidden User Library is also), all the software (and user accounts) also carries over (compatible or not), and Apple's software is upgraded.
So if your new Mountain Lion Mac comes with free iWork, then when you upgrade to Mavericks it will still be there.
If your new Mountain Lion does not come with free iWork, then it won't magically appear for free if you upgrade to Mavericks.
If you need a free Office suit, I suggest you look at the donationware LibreOffice.
You will likely need to control key or right click to "Open" LibreOffice to approve through OS X's "Gatekeeper".
You will need to manually update it also, as it's not on AppStore.

Benefit of LibreOffice is it's completely cross-platform compatible, so you can share working files with Windows and Linux users, which you can't with iWork.
