Mac OS X not picking up keyboard, mouse or track pad
Im having trouble with all 3, first it was my keyboard, went to try and pair it up, but keep saying no key board found, battery life is at 68% then my mouse stopped working, after coming on here, and someone suggesting that maybe a system update might fix it, so I done that, after the mac restart my trackpad is not working grrrrrrr frustrating, please help?????
Did you try both USB ports?
Try it with just the mouse or just the keyboard. One or the other may be bad.
If you have some other USB device, like a printer or USB hub, try it with something other than the keyboard or mouse plugged in.
If any device causes this problem, the USB ports may be faulty.
You can try resetting the PMU (power management)
http://mrjcd.com/junk/PMU.jpg
and resetting PRAM

Also, check the PRAM battery to make sure it is not dead or weak. It looks like this one

Mouse and track pad not responding
intermitently the mouse and track pad arent working. I can move the cursor put no left or right function. I have to restart computer to get them working again.
well, it is not over yet
the bluetooth keeps disconnecting the magic mouse
Any advice? -
recently updated iMac and macbook pro to mountain lion. Now mouse and track pad operate backwards i.e. scroll up and page scrolls down. how do you fix this?
System Preferences > Mouse -- deselect "Scroll direction: natural." Do the same for the trackpad > Scroll & Zoom preference.

The Message bar opens without clicking on its icon. Usually when I bring the curser to the top left of the screen. Both with mouse and track pad.
Hi there kellyaames,
It sounds like you may have Hot Corners enable. You can change this setting in System Preferences > Mission Control. Take a look at the article below for more information.

I have a new iMac 21.5" - 4GB ram, 3.60 GZ processor. Installed bootcamp partition with Win 7 Pro 64 bit - it was sealed box. Could not get it to recognize the bluetooth keyboard/mouse that came with the unit last Thursday.
From page 5 of the instructions, "What You Need" - The Keyboard and mouse or trackpad that came with your computer. (if they are not available use a USB keyboard and mouse.)
I did follow all the instructions for getting the drivers installed. Went to all sources of info on the subject from Apple support, internet discussions and forums. It seems that it is a common and seemingly unsolveable problem that Apple does not yet have a solution for.
The question - will the 32 bit Windows 7 Pro have the same problem?
BruceMYou need 3.1 or better yet the drivers from Lion and Boot Camp 4.0
BC 2.x was only for Vista and XP
You don't actually "run" Boot Camp 2.x as much as partition with the Assistant, and install motherboard support drivers to Windows.
"I am USING Boot Camp 2.x"
You're running Windows -- natively. -

Mac Book Pro - Mouse and Track Pad Freeze
I left my mac book pro asleep for a few hours, everything had been working fine. When I returned it would not wake up so I restarted it.
It makes the chime and comes to the password page as per normal. Then I cannot move the mouse and the keyboard does not work. Also impossible to select Caps lock (light does not come on)
Things I have tried:
PRAM
Safe Start Up Mode
Attaching external keyboard and mouse
Restarting holding down ctrl, apple and power key
No luck with any of the above.
Any ideas.
Thanks in advance! It's not completely clear if you are using an external USB mouse. Some people use the term "mouse" for the clicker bar so I want to make sure I understand how you are set up instead of guessing.
If you are not using an external mouse, remove the battery and inspect it for bulging or other deformation. That can put upward pressure on the underside of the trackpad assembly and take it down, often taking the built-in keyboard with it. -
Magic Mouse and Track Pad won't scroll after after waking
I installed Lion and a TrackPad on my 27" iMac at the same time. When I wake my Mac up after sleeping for a period of time, the scrolling does not work on either the TrackPad or the Magic Mouse. The pointer works fine on both, however. I have to restart in order for things to work again as they should.
Apple Care has so far been unable to help. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm ready to return the track pad and/or uninstall Lion. This is turning into a Windows experience. Not typical for Apple.Agreed. My bluetooth keyboard works fine with iMac and Lion. Not so for my magic mouse. It will work for a while and then clicking and scrolling become unresponsive. Sometimes a complete shutdown and start up will solve the problem for a little while (not always), but then mouse becomes unresponsive again.
Speaking of unresponsive, that is Apple on this subject. Many, many complaints, but no action.
I'm using a 2010 iMac, all updates are installed. Batteries are charged. Reset PRAM. Checked settings in System Preferences. Did everything others have suggested. No help.
The magic mouse was fine with Leopard. It was even fine with Lion, until the Lion update and then the problems began.
I'm back to using my USB mouse. I'll see if Apple Store will accept return of magic mouse. Doubt it. -
I had to restart my MBP three time, two after it crashed. Every time Spotlight starts to index the content on my Mac
which takes two hour. Then there is a delay when I start scrolling, both with the mouse and with the track pad.
I also notised that after changing the icons with Candybar they still appear unchanged in Launchpad, which makes
it confusing. Launchpad isn't consitent when putting the apps in aphabetic order, but jumble up some of the apps.
i don't get back the wab sites after restart as i was to believe I would.
As Jobs sez; And more thing.
Well one more might OK, there are more bugs then that, but I to tired to tell them all.
I have never found so many bug in such a short time (only in two hours with Lion now) with any other OS and I have worked with Macs since -91.
God help us.Hi, me again, more data.
I have found that some plugins are accessing the internet without my permission.
And when I went into the plug in menu via the addons options through the Tool Menu option, I found the plug ins there.
BUT I never installed those plugins, and now they are there and they are accessing the Internet. Here are two images to show the plug ins disabled and yet another image showing them still accessing the Internet even when disabled.
I then removed them from the system (I did back them up first, just in case). -
Microsoft Arch Mouse disables track pad
Windows 7 is soooo stupid it can't recognize multi finger gestures, so I had to plug my mouse in. Bad idea. It's so stupid ( of course only Microsoft could make a product this horrible) it needs a driver of it's own and whenever I unplug the USB it disables my track pad. I went into bootcamp settings and the track pad tab is gone, in control panel it says every things fine. How do I get the track pad back?!
Oh, and I'm not asking this on micro craps site because the morons there like to give false info all the timeAll set.
Thanks anyways. -

New Mac Mini will not recognize bluetooth keyboard
I just bought a new mac mini, and the apple keyboard. I can see the welcome "Use english" screen, and I press ENTER on the keyboard but nothing happens! I know the keyboard is not the problem becuase I tested it on my iPad and it worked. I've un-paired it with my iPad and tried again and nothing happens. The trackpad pointer is visible but it does not recognize a CLICK.....WHAT CAN I DO ???? (I don't have a wired keyboard or mouse to hook-up to it )
yeah, it works on my ipad with no problem. I've re-booted too. I'm thinking the only way is with a hard wired keyboard to get it booted.

Indesign CS6 not picking up keyboard commands or any type
I recently downloaded the CS6 creative package.
I cannot seem to type anything into Indesign documents, or perform any Keyboard Commands.
I'm on a Mac and have never had this problem before, it seems as if it's just not connecting to my keyboard.Thank you
I rebooted the system in safe and it seems to have fixed itself, the keyboard shortcuts and all type is now working.
Thanks again! -
Here we go,
1) at login a black rectangular box with white text appears and voice over seems to be on (even though its switched off)
2) after login an annoying black square surrounds the cursor
3) upon waking computer from sleep the bluetooth doesn't pair with the keyboard or mouse (I usually just power them both off and then back on and this seems to work)
4) the dock disappears and reappears on its own even though "hide the dock" is not checked
iMac running Lion
Thanks for any help!
DennisIn the login screen, press the key combination command-F5 to deactivate VoiceOver.
