Mac OS X supports IPhone?
My son had an IBook G4 and was told by support that he had to upgrade to Tiger to support his IPhone. The technical support on this site doesn't seem to support this, but we got him a new Mac anyway. Will my PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X (10.3.9) support the IPhone or will I have to upgrade to Tiger? Thank you very much for any advice you can give me.

You can sync an iPhone with a Mac that has a USB 1.1 port but the sync process will be painfully slow.

Howdy.
I've just purchased a new iPhone 4, but my Mac's version of iTunes won't support it. I need to upgrade iTunes to the latest version. But, alas, when I downloaded it, my Mac won't support it. My Mac's details are; 10.4.11 Processor Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5. I need to get up to 10.5.
Can I download the higher operating system? If so where from? Or must I buy it from the shops?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:

Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

have an airplay enabled AV Receiver - how do i set up Airplay
I have a Yamaha RX-V673 which is Airplay enabled, but i can't get Airplay to work either on my Mac book or my iphone. The receiver is connected to my network and i can control it using the iphone App and via the web browser option.
Do I need Apple TV or to change some settings somewhere?
Any help would be greatly appreciatedYou are making some progress with setup of wireless network. Apparently there is reliability problem with the wireless connection. Perhaps you want to refer to following Apple support documents and start tweaking parameters in the router to improve the reliability. I used to have third-party routers such as Belkin and Netgear but switched to Apple Airport routers (Time Capsule then Airport Extreme for now) because of incompatibility issues whenever Apple upgrade Mac OS X. But since Apple develops Airplay protocol as alternative to Bluetooth for wireless audio/video streaming (with much better bandwidth) and must be deployed in any wireless network, there is no reason third-party routers not working for Airplay protocol.

Hi; I'm new to Mac but i do have a iphone 3 G which I sync to my PC. Shot some video and would like to work with it in imovie on the new family Mac. While my iphone shows up in the Mac's itunes it doesn't show any of my videos in imovie (and doesn't list my phone in devices). If I sync to the Mac will this screw with my phone to PC sync? Any advice?

thanks...I got on the phone with Apple support and the solution was to reboot my Mac...it then saw the iphone and downloaded to iphoto. Made a great little movie....now having trouble sending it out. Using itunes but the file seems to big although I've set it to mobile. Any further ideas short of youtube? -
Syncing Office for Mac Calender with ICal / IPhone etc
I have just installed 30 day trial of Office for Mac on my IMac running mount Lion.
So, I m temporarily running calenders in Office and ICal (the calenders are the same, not seperated for different people or groups or the like).
When I add an event to Office it updates ICal fine, but ICal doesn't update ICloud and so my Iphone and Ipad dont get updated either.
I've just tested by updating the ICal calnder and that updates Iphone, Ipad and Icloud fine, but not the Office Calender.
any ideas?
thanksOutlook 2011 for Mac does not support DAV standards. iCloud uses DAV services for Contacts and Calendars. They will not appear in Outlook, sorry.

Why is my mac not 'seeing' my iPhone?
I've gone through the steps of checking if I have the latest iTunes, (I do), restarting iPhone, restarting iMac, and still don't see it come up on my desktop. Have just purchased "Phone to Mac" to try get easier access to photos and tunes on my phone, but even that doesn't recognise that my iPhone is plugged in (directly from the usb on my mac).

It depends on what iMac you have. If it is an old PPC (G4 orG5) iMac then no further upgrades are possible. If it an Intel iMac:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
