Mac os x wiki server can't authenticate user password from active directory recently after we upgraded to windows 2008 server.

after upgraded to windows 2008 server, our mac os x wiki server can't authenticate user password anymore. How can I re-bind the wiki server to the AD again? thanks in advance.

Solved it by deleting the user and creating a new one with the same userID.
Maybe it occured because I marked the "user has to change password after first login" box when resetting the password but didn't yet allow him to do so in the webpages menu?!?

I don't want to implement SSO for ABAP because my company doesn't have the license for "SAP NW Single Sign-On"; but we would like to authenticate our users and their passwords to active directory. This has been discussed many times, for example see SSO with LAN UserID/Password. The short answer is no, you can't synchronize passwords. You can however achieve the requirement assuming you are using Identity Management to provision users and passwords to all systems (AD, SAP, etc). In that case you will have to deal with users changing their password. Recommendation is to enable SSO. If you don't want to get licenses for NWSSO, try to look at other options (X.509 certificates, SPNEGO in AS JAVA and then issue a Logon Ticket, 3rd party solution, etc).

Can not Authenticate WLSE Express with Active Directory

I can not authenticate WLSE Express using external database with AD. I have downloaded the agent to the Domain Controller and install it on AD.
At WLSE Express I found log
"Error Server 0 RemoteDomainAuth server domain-auth: Agent API encountered error (1)"
"Error Server 0 Service domain-auth has no active remote servers available"
"Warning Protocol 0 Request from AP101 (10.224.20.143): User insee-wds rejected (ServiceUnavailable)"

DAC server start-up error and Can't authenticate user

HI,
we have installed DAC server in Linux machine and client on windows. By using DAC client we restored the backup of DAC repository, DAC client was working fine still restoration and after restoring it’s not logging in. It throws error like "Can't authenticate user"
while starting DAC services in Unix server it throws an error like
ANOMALY INFO An exception occurred. Shutting down server...
MESSAGE:::/u01/DAC/jdk/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
EXCEPTION CLASS::: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
Note: since DAC client is not separately available for windows we have installed dac server also and while installing and after installing we never configured to connect to the dac server which is in Linux, we have configured only DB.
we have successfully installed OBIEE, Informatica, and DAC version is 10.1.3.4.1.
How to start the DAC services?
How to configure dac client to connect to DAC server and how to solve this "Can't authenticate user" issue?
Pls help in this regard.

Then do select * from W_ETL_USER -- here you will see 2 Administrator id's listed
now run the command Delete From W_ETL_USER
Now login to dac client with Administrator and pwd which you have set earlier.

I have got Cisco Works LAN Management 3.2. But the problem is that i have a Windows 2008 Server Standard R2 and when i try to install, it fails. What I read from the below link is that it supports

Best Way to Remove Server from Active Directory

I was wondering the best practice to remove a server from AD according to Microsoft.
Option 1 :
Login to server and take it off the domain and put it into a workgroup
Then login to AD and make sure it is removed
Confirm removal from DNS
Option 2 :
Login to Domain Server and manually remove
Confirm removal from DNS

So if its just a file server, I would just go with option 1 to ensure the cleanest removal from Active Directory?
What would happen if I just removed it from Active Directory after powering it down? Still a clean result? Or is it considered best practice to take the server off the domain from the server then power it down and then remove from Active Directory?
Please let me know and also if you want me to clarify.
I am not sure if I understood you correctly but if you just right click the computer object in Active Directory and delete it you have to manually delete the DNS records as well or wait for scavenging period to delete the outdated DNS records.

Does Windows 2008 Server run ok under Mac Mini Bootcamp?

Does anyone have any experience of installing and running Windows 2008 Server on a Mac Mini (of which has either Mac OS or Mac OS Server installed), under Bootcamp?
I currently have an old Dell with Windows 2008 server which acts as my Domain Controller, Exchange Server for a small home-office network. It's due an upgrade as the hardware is so old (and noisy!) and like the idea of having a nice compact, quiet Mac Mini, but want to make sure it can carry out the same duties under bootcamp on Win2008?

Windows 2008 can be installed in Boot Camp. However I don't believe it is officially supported by Apple so there may or may not be issues with installing the Boot Camp Drivers (or future updates to the Boot Camp drivers.) Not something I'd be recommending for a "production" environment. If this is a test/dev system, then probably worth trying, depending on how critical your network uptime is.
Also, you didn't mention if your Dell came with Windows 2008 preinstalled, but if it did, then likely it has a "branded" version of Windows that won't activate correctly on non-Dell hardware. (If your Windows disks have "Dell" on them, they won't work with the Mac.) So you may need to purchase a retail or volume license copy of Windows 2008.
In general, for a server running as a DC & Exchange, you'd want RAID1 as a minimum so that would be the Mac Mini Server, not the "desktop" Mac Mini. Unless you have one lying around, you're looking at something around $1500-$2000 to start, depending on whether you can transfer your existing Windows 2008 & Exchange installations. (Another $500-$2000 depending on what vesions of Windows & Exchange.) And probably 8GB of RAM since Windows 2008 & Exchange on 4GB is pushing it. Considering the costs, I suggest you look at the Dell T110 series or the HP Proliant 110 series. Both lines are very quiet and are supported for Windows 2008 from the factory, including Windows Small Business Server, which includes Exchange. While not as small as a Mac Mini, they are mini towers and about the size of a typical PC desktop.
If you really wanted a small footprint, then HP has a "microserver" series. You'd probably need to call HP to get the build you want as the online ordering is limited for that model. From Dell, there is the Zino model desktop. Again, not supported for a "server", but you were going to consider a the non-server version of the Mac Mini, then the Zino has at least a chance of you reusing your existing versions of Windows if they're Dell branded, thus saving your something in the range of $500-$2000 for new software. (But I would NOT recommend a non-server chassis without RAID1 hard drives, so the Zino is not my choice. I just offer it as a possibility if you accept the risk of an unsupported installation, as would have been installing Windows 2008 in Boot Camp.)
So yes, it will work. But I wouldn't recommend it for a production environment, especailly if you have the "desktop" computer without RAID1.

Yes you can definitely do this. You'll need an app on the iPad that handles PDF viewing and editing. There are many around - two of the best I've seen are GoodReader and PDF Expert.
In iTunes when you iPad is connected to your PC, go to the Apps tab and scroll down and you'll see the File Sharing section. You can drag files to there to share them to your iPad.
You could also look at online file sync services like PDF to ePub Maker if you prefer not to have to connect your iPad to a PC

Windows 2008 Server R2 Windows Explorer Refresh Issue

I work on a Windows 2008 R2 server that I connect to through remote desktop. Recently the automatic refresh in Windows Explorer stopped working. If I create, delete, copy, move, rename etc., I do not see the changes unless I refresh (F5). I tried the three
solutions below which was for Windows 7, but they have not fixed the problem. Can anyone please help me.

You tried with 0x0 ? In my first post I did a error to write down 0x1. From there, if it does not work we will continue.
They are other key too that might work;
NoRemoteChangeNotify = 1 (DWORD) in the same location as thee other.
and NoSimpleNetIDList = 1 (DWORD) from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Windows 2008 Server Std on T500

Hi. Is there anyway to install Windows 2008 Server Std. on a T500 with Windows 7 installed? We've tried to install it and the drivers are all screwed up -- the network, video, and other "base" drivers are all missing. We tried using the Vista and XP ethernet adapter drivers and it wouldn't take them.
