Mac OS X won't boot... PLEASE HELP!

I recently installed Windows on a 20gb partition of my 100gb hard drive (the other 80 are for MacOS 10.4.8) I put the computer to sleep by shutting the lid and had a little accident about half a second after that, my computer fell a couple feet and hit the floor. Now, I assumed that the motion sensor on the hard drive would keep it from getting damaged, but I now think I may be wrong.
After opening the lid the computer gave me a blue screen and nothing happened, so I waited. Nothing happened anyway so I held the power button for a few seconds until it powered down. I powered back on and the little wheel spun for a very very long time and nothing happened.
I decided to boot from the Windows partition and it worked just fine.
I restarted and tried OS X again and the same happened, the wheel spun... and the OS didn't boot.
I tried booting from the OS X install disc and running the Disk Utility to fix any problems with the hard drive, but the Disk Utility wouldn't finish "gathering disk information" ever.
Then I tried reinstalling MacOS X and chose "Archive and Install" so I wouldn't lose my files, but at the point in installation where it said that it was preparing the target disk it never actually finished.
Now I am truly desperate, I have read almost every article there is on this and even tried booting in "Safe Mode" and yielded no results.
Does anyone have any ideas on solving my problem?

I tried that... the system went through a bunch of command lines, and when it finished I couldn't type anything, my keyboard wasn't working... I tried it again, and again the same thing, the keyboard wouldn't work.
I also tried booting the computer from the MacOS 10.4.5 install disc once again, and the Disk Utility finally worked, to a certain extent.
When I clicked on "Repair Disk" it went through its whole process, and in the end it said the disk utility couldn't repair the disk because there was some sort of error along te way. I did the repair disk option about 5 or 6 times.
Now I think this isn't a hardware problem because the disk utility was able to mount both my drive partitions without a problem.
As a final and last resort option, I will boot from the MacOS 10.4.5 install disc and perform an "Erase and Install", erasing my whole hard drive and starting from scratch. Now I don't really want to do that because of the quantity important documents I need for work, not to mention my music and photos.
Is there any other way I can restore my OS and not lose my hard drive contents?

Try stating in Safe Mode:

Next try reinstalling Yosemite by:
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

When you do reboot into Windows - use Option key for one - and go to Windows Control Panel: Boot Camp: the Startup Disk section to change the default OS is there and works.
It isn't "boot camp" it is Windows. Boot Camp are drivers, control panel, program to partition. What you wanted to see was "Windows" OS to change the default.
Do you 'see' Windows volume on the Desktop as being physically there?
Opened Disk Utility and look at the drives and volumes: Windows volumne is still present.

Mac LC 580 won't boot

My Mac LC 580 won't boot. I have tried the following in a attempt to get it to work:
Reset the logic board. Replaced the hard drive. Cleaned the logic board's end connector with contact cleaner. Cleaned the RAM modules with contact cleaner. The only thing I know for sure is that Apple's service manual for the LC 580 keeps pointing towards a bad logic board or analog board or both as the cause of death. I'm not even getting a bong from the Mac. The only thing I hear when I turn it on is the sound of the Mac running. Maybe the hard drive too. No video appears on screen either. The original hard drive was a Apple OEM Connor 800 MB OEM drive. Personally I've heard far too many horror stories about Connor hard drives from the PC world online to trust it as being reliable. It even said right on the drive that it was made in Malaysia of all places. Not a good sign if you ask me. I have managed to locate a replacement logic board on eBay if that turns out to be the cause of the Mac's death. What's the next step in getting this old Mac up & running?

Update: I have more info on what's been going on with the LC 580. I finally figured out that the 33MHz Motorola 68040 processor I installed may be defective. After switching the the original Motorola 33MHz 68LC040 & removing the RAM the Mac booted but I got a Quizzical Floppy on screen indicating the Mac couldn't find a valid System Folder. After that I figured out that the Apple SCSI 4X CD-ROM drive was defective. I replaced it with a known good Apple 8X SCSI CD-ROM drive. I then attempted to boot from a Mac OS 7.6.1 CD-ROM. I got a error type 41 & restarted with extensions off like the error told me to. I then attempted to boot from a Mac OS 8.1 CD-ROM but I got a Sad Mac error code. The error code looked like this:
0000000F
00000001. Just now I tried to boot from the Mac OS 7.6.1 CD-ROM. Again I got a error type 41. After that I booted with extensions off from the Mac OS 7.6.1 CD-ROM. I still got a error type 41 too. I then restarted & got the following Sad Mac error code:
0000000F
00000033. I also have a Mac OS 8.0 CD-ROM that I haven't tried to boot from yet. What does all of this mean & what should my next move be?

I would restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod on your computer and start over. It appears the iPod is associated with another account. Any media that came with the iPod does not belong to you and di not transfer with the iPod hardware.

Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:

But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
With SilverLight, Microsoft attempted to create their own version of what a replacement for Flash could be - but not to universal acclaim. You can read more about it here:

Thanks for the update. I don't know if you have tried this, but I would next I would try removing and re adding the mail account from the phone, then testing the issue again:
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

I did try the DIMMs one at a time, plus in pairs, and no luck.
But I think you were on to something about trying a different CD. I don't have the System CD for this machine, nor do I have a System 9 CD. I had tried an OS X 10.3 installation CD and a Disk Warrior CD, but those wouldn't work. I did find an Apple Extended Care CD (which had a version of TechTools on it) that I got with my Powerbook, and lo and behold, the G4 started up off of that! So I turned off the machine, connected the hard drive again and restarted. It booted up off the hard drive and I was able to connect to the network and everything.
But then I got greedy. I thought whatever was wrong was now magically fixed (magic being my most relied upon Apple repair tool) and popped all the RAM back in. Turned it on, kernel panic. Darn. Took the RAM back out, turned it on, kernel panic. Uh-oh. So I put the RAM back in and tried to start it off the Extended Care CD again. It started up OK from the CD. Then I tried to boot from the hard disk again, and it booted up just fine, no problems at all. I had to reset the clock, but everything works.
So I still don't know what's going on with the machine. Maybe it was the battery after all, but it couldn't boot until something was reset. It's a mystery, I guess.

Mac won't boot up, help required!

My mac came up with a message saying to power the mac down and re-boot it. I powered it down and now it won't boot back up again, just going to a blue screen with the curcular lines icon spinning round and nothing happens. It wont boot up in safe mode either and can't get it to recognise the OSX cd to re-install they system software. Have tried booting up with CD in and holding down C but nothing is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't mention which Mac. We need to know.
Do you have Firmware Password Protection on? That disables any Boot Option keys.
