Mac OSX 10.6.8 installation problems!

Hi Im using snow leopard 10.6.8 on my macbook pro. Im trying to install logic pro and also upgrade the OSX to Lion. Im getting the following message on Terminal

It installs logic pro but at the end it gives me an installation error. Someone stole my mac osx cd at school so im unable to reinstall or repair osx. In the disk utility it doesnt let me repair my disk. Some help would be much appreciated.

Shut down and reboot holding the Command + S keys. Allow the black screen with white text to fully load, then type fsck -yf and hit return. Wait until you see "Disk has been modified" or "Disk appears to be okay" then type reboot and hit return.

HP OfficeJet 4500 and MAC OSX 10.6.8 installation problem

I've recently bought a HP OfficeJet 4500 and I'm having problems with the Macintosh installation.
I'm on Intel Mac OS X 10.6.8 and I connected the printer to my iMac by using the USB cable.
The CD included with the printer is not readable, so I had to download the driver (OJ4500vG510a-f_Mac.dmg) from the HP website.
When I run the installer, the application is not able to recognize the device so no model is displayed in the list; then, I choose to continue the installation without specifying the model but when I have to do the configuration the installer is not able to find the correct device and so the setup procedure fails.
What I want is to use the printer wireless, so I think I should perform the configuration procedure and to specify that I want to use the Wi-Fi connection but I never reach this step because installer fails before.
I have to say that I successfully installed this printer on Windows XP and Windows 7 by downloading the drivers from the HP website and installing them without problems, but I'm not able to do the same thing with my Mac.
Can you help me, please?

I got the impression you are using the wrong software for your printer.
In order to get aligned, there are 3 sub models of the 4500 series:
HP Officejet 4500 Desktop (G510a) - Provide USB connectivity only. - The driver posted above intended for this model.
HP Officejet 4500 (G510g) - provide USB and Wired ethernet network connection
HP Officejet 4500 Wireless (G510n) - Provide USB and Wireless network connection,
As you mentioned the printer connected to the network, therefore I doubt if the correct driver has been used.
Above you may find a direct download link for both of the models
Simply click the model which identical to the one listed on the front of the printer,

after instal baytrail driver, without restart i instal gpu driver direct from intel

MAC OSX 10.4.7 - iMAC Problems

Started having problems.. after update..
On 6/28 - Using the SW update feature the system noted 3 updates ready for download:
Aperture (1.1.2)
QuickTime (7.1.2)
MAC OSX (10.4.7)
I selected continue and went about my business. When I came back I was prompted for a restart, which I completed with out any discernable problem.
The following day - My "Bluetooth" mouse dropped out and I couldn't get it to work - though the mouse was bad - went and purchased a new wireless USB version.
It semed to work ok. Setup to use my wireles Keybd today and couldn't get it to work...
After many attempst and battery replacement - I started suspecting problems with the last update.
Thought I would check and see if there was a new update - by selecting "Software Update" under the Apple - it started to load and crashed.
A couple of repeat attempts had the same result.
Now I was sure that the last update had some how not been successful.
Went to Apple Support site and downloaded the "Combo". It reported "mounting failed" after it completed the download. Tried the "Delta" the same result.
Checked the Log files and found that the Aperture & Quicktime updates were logged - but not the 10.4.7 (on the 28th). Yet "About this Mac" says 10.4.7 is loaded???
I ran the DIsk Utility "repaired permissions" retried Software Update - same problem. Repaired permissions again (they were corrupted from the Software Update attempt) and tried the Delta again - still no success (mounting failed).
Anybody have a clue - what to do next??

Mac OSX 10.5.8 Installer won't run

I just uninstalled my old version of Adobe Flash Player (deleting caches, preferences, etc (as the instructions say)) and tried to install the most recent version that my OS runs, Flash Player 10.3.183.90. I close all my apps, empty my trash, and even restart my computer but the installer won't run. It just bounces for a minute or so on my dock then just sits there, not opening. I have to force quit it because it says "Application not responding." I also unzipped the .app file that comes in the .dmg and i tried running the Flash Player app that appeared and it also does the exact same thing.

1. Try creating another user account and try the installer under that accoiunt. If it works, you need to repair permissions on your account using the Disk Utility.
2. If that doesn't resolve the installer issue for your account, try resetting the PRAM. Reboot holding the Cmd+Option+P+R keys and wait till the "startup chime" sounds three times, then release the keys.

Mac OSX 10.6 fresh installation freeze

When I install OSX 10.6 with original disc the installation freeze at about 18 min.
I tryed with another disc but I have the same problem.

EXC_BAD_ACCESS error when opening PS2 on Mac OSX 10.4-who's problem is it?

About three weeks ago I got an error message when trying to open PS2 which said
"Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS (0x0001) at 0xcde25b88"
So I called Apple Care-they replaced my hard drive. I get my Mac back last night and go to open PS and I now get this error message:
"Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000"
So do I call Apple again or is this an Adobe issue? Should I reinstall PS2? All the other parts of Creative Suite run just fine. I'm irritated and confused and sadly not really savvy enough to know what's going on. :-(

When Apple replaced your HD, did they or you, re-install the software that was on your old Drive?
If you made a clone of your old HD and copied it back, you probably brought back all of your old troubles with it!
I suggest that you remove CS2 entirely; then run Disk Warrior to repair all of your Dirctories and then do a fresh installation of CS2 from the original DVD.
Just be sure that you have saved any Actions and other personal Presets somewhere safely before trashing CS2.

Tried Installing Flash 10 on mac osX but Flash 9 installs instead

When I try to install the latest version of Flash Player
(ver. 10.0.12.36) on my macbook pro (osX 10.5.3), Flash Player 9
(ver. 9.0.115.0) gets installed instead. I tried uninstalling Flash
Player 9 and then re-installing Flash Player 10 but I still get
Flash Player 9. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!

Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is the last version to support OS X 10.5.8. Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html and download the 10.3.183.90 archive file. Extract the content and use the file flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg to install Flash Player on OS X 10.5.8.

Mac osX question regarding persistent LAN problem using Linksys router

We are eight months into this problem.
I had this up on the apple help board 6 months ago but could only get a band aid fix for the problem.

We have since exhausted 3 other professional help folks.
We are using the WRT54GS ver. 5.
Before we were using BEFSx41 ver. 2 and we had same problem.

Sorry dude, definitely sounds like a mac problem (i.e. editing the cnf files on mac s). Unless you are blocking a special service, which you probably aren't, then its definitely not the router. The reason I say that is all traffic gets transferred at layer 2 of the OSI model, in this case. IP addressing is layer 3 (router/network layer). Short answer is all traffic gets "switched" via mac address, not ip in this case. Your router here is more like a switch that provides dhcp and a default gateway to get to the internet. Any unknown mac (media access control, not mac/apple) traffic will get "routed" to the wan.

Adobe Creative Cloud app, Mac OSX, "The Creative Cloud installation is no longer functioning..."

For about 2+ weeks I've been getting the following message in the Creative Cloud App:
Download Error
The Creative Cloud installation is no longer working
uninstall and download again from http...
I've searched through various discussions and followed every suggestion I had come across, including:
Uninstalled/reinstalled Creative Cloud
Renamed files in the following directories:
~/Library/Applications support/Adobe/OOBE
/Library/Applications support/Adobe/OOBE
~/Library/Applications support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
/Library/Applications support/Adobe/AAMUpdater
Deleted files in above-listed directories.
Checked all network settings including proxy, DNS, etc.
Logged in as myself, I launched Creative Cloud as root (sudo /path/to/app)
Between each step I uninstalled/reinstalled the Creative Cloud app. The logs (in ~/Library/Logs/) don't show any major issues, other than claiming that a preference file can't be read. I tried deleting all preferences related to ACC and the log continued to show the same message.
Any suggestions outside of the standard list of fixes would be most welcome, at this point I'm ready to cancel my CC subscription, I feel Adobe made a big mistake by changing to this format. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't it causes loss of productivity and immense frustration.

Tried this with no success. Although, your mention of permissions led me to launching Disk Utility and repairing permissions. I then noticed my hard drive had a failing S.M.A.R.T. status. I swapped out the hard drive and restored from Time Machine backup, repaired permissions, uninstalled Creative Cloud, repaired permissions again and removed all files mentioned in my original post. I then reinstalled and: still get the same dang error! This is ridiculously frustrating.

Mac OSX 10.8.3 update problem

Ok, so I followed through with the OSX update (I have mountain lion) and let it do it's thing - came back to it hours later......STILL in the apple screen with rotating gear wheel thing....so I shut it down, power off. Then I restart it, it comes up with the same screen, this time with a grey progress bar.....and then 20 seconds later it shuts itself off. Now everytime I turn it on, it ends up shutting itself off....WHAT?! Anyone else having a similar or the same issue?! I'm so frusterated....anyone, help?? >_<

Mac os x 10.8 Installation problems

My mac has empty disk with recovery partition.
Recovery says it can install Lion for me. But when I try to do this it says that my apple ID isn't suitable for this/
I've bought Mountain Lion but didn't buy Lion so I've tried to use my friend's apple ID (he has a Mac with Lion preinstalled).
Have the same answer!
I've tried to make Recovery USB, but it does the same - tries to install Lion with same message that I've got no rights to do this.
What should I do to Install Mountain Lion on my Mac with my apple ID and recovery partition?

Mac OSX 10.4 visual displays problems with a 20 inch Symphonic telvision

I would like to use my tv as a monitor for my Mac (details in subject title), but I have been having some issues. To be perfectly honest, I am completely new to this subject on computers. On my Mac, I have 4 ports that I think I might be able to use. These are the TV OUT port, the S VID IN port, the yellow video in port, and the last one I dont know what it is called. (It has lines by it that turn in different directions with little circles on the end of them). My television only has the basic yellow video port and the two white and red audio ports. Is there any way I can connect my Mac to my tv?

Reinstalling Mac OSX - will I have iPhone problems?

I'm preparing to zero out my iMac's HD and install Leopard. I've backed up all my files to an external HD, including the iPhone backup file and all my iTunes files.
Will I have any problems or issues the next time I connect my iPhone after the upgrade to Leopard?

There is always a possibility there will be a problem, but doubtful.
Having a backup of all your data including for the Address Book and iCal, you are covered.
