Mac OSX: Admin rights are required to complete Adobe add-ons installation or removal

i seem to get this error every time i restart my machine after updating to the CC 2014. anyone else?

Mojoprime thank you for the update.  Those same steps solved the issue when I experienced it on one of my Mac installations.
The error is still permission related.  I would recommend launching the Creative Cloud Desktop application in a new administrator account.  You might then be able to properly authorize the needed changes.  You can find more details at Install or run Adobe applications in new user account | Mac OS X.

  • My Mac (OSX 10.9) Mavericks won't read Adobe Elements 12 installation disc

My iMac won't  read the Adobe Elements 12 instalation disk. It will play other DVD' and music CD's absolutely fine but will not read the Adobe disc.
I have cleaned both the drive and the the disc but with no results?
Is ther an update required or have I got a bad disc.
If I have can I download the 30 day trial and use my product code to activate it instead.

    Yes.
That's the simplest solution in most cases.

  • Creative Cloud notification "Administration rights are required-" but nowhere to enter credentials

I told Creative Cloud (the menubar balloon) to go ahead and install CC 2014 updates, and left the computer to update. Later, I had to reboot the computer due to a power failure (all items now show as "Up to date" in the Apps tab). But I'm getting Notifications every 10 seconds saying, "Creative Cloud. Administration rights are required to complete Adobe Add-ons installation or removal." I'm happy to provide those credentials, but there is nowhere to type them! I've looked in all the tabs in the Creative Cloud balloon, and displayed all windows (so it's not hidden under something else).
SOLUTION: I quit Creative Cloud, then opened Creative Cloud again. The notifications are no longer displaying, and applications are all up to date. Apparently something was confused by the power outage.

  • Administration rights are required

Hi, Ever since the recent upgrade to CC2014 I'm getting a dialog box saying:
    Creative Cloud
Administration rights are required to complete
    Adobe Add-ons installation or removal.
I then have to enter my administration password every morning and it's a pain.
Any ideas how to stop this.
    Thanks for your help

Same basic problem. Every morning I get the "Administration rights are required to complete Adobe Add-ons installation or removal" notice and it pops up everytime an Adobe CC 2014 app opens.

This is sometimes caused by Bad Blocks on the Hard Drive.
If 10.7, hold down Command-R at startup, and choose Disk Utility.
If 10.6 or earlier, boot to the Installer/Utilities DVD, answer only the "what language" question and wait for the MenuBar to be drawn. Choose Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu.
Select your Hard drive by Make & Model and check the SMART Status (lower right of the right window). Choose "Repair Disk" . This ONLY examines and repairs the Directory area of the drive, but may improve things a bit. If errors cannot be repaired, you may need a stronger tool, or a new drive.

  • After upgrade to EMET v4.1 and reboot EMET_Agent didn't self-restarted but now double clicking its icon shows error "Admin privileges are required"

    Hello all,
after on my Windows XP SP3 test client I upgraded to EMET v4.1 (from v4.0) and rebooted I noticed the following:
    - EMET_Agent didn't self-restarted so I had to run it manually (and I noticed that after it started it also self-added an undocumented --NoRestart command line option),
    - now that its icon is already in SysTray (Notification Area) the error "Admin privileges are required" appears whenever I double click on it or select 'Open EMET', so in case of need I can run EMET_GUI.exe only manually.
Is all this normal and expected or there can be any other possibly known way to avoid or definitely fix both effects ?
P.S. If to better show effects also providing any bitmap should be needed, then please just let me know.
Thanks in advance for any helpful reply or suggestion. Regards.
    Rob

    Hello everyone again,
I'm updating this post to ensure anyone interested may know how to definitely solve this issue.
After verifying that same annoying issue was also found with EMET 4.1 update 1 (valid for its 1st 4/30/2014 release, and verified also with
current and latest 5/29/2014 version) I recently made some little more investigation and after noticing its weird command line (reported by Process Explorer) simply as :
    --NoRestart
I simply ensured to manually force same option to be properly set at startup, and that's it. :-D
So here you are quick updated versions of :
    - EMET41NotificationFix.reg
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "EMET Agent"="\"C:\\Program Files\\EMET 4.1\\EMET_Agent.exe\" --NoRestart"
    - EMET41upd1NotificationFix.reg
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "EMET 4.1 Update 1 Agent"="\"C:\\Program Files\\EMET 4.1\\EMET_Agent.exe\" --NoRestart"
I hope this helps (and if it does then please be kind and vote this post as useful... ;-) ) while to some forum moderator I'm asking to kindly mark this post as Answer.
P.S. It's just a pity that latest current version of EMET 4.1.1 (aka 4.1 update 1) cannot easily install over its 1st release (its setup suggest to 1st remove existing version), anyway I've found a tricky (hacked) way to overcome this limitation while also
avoiding reboot so in future I'll consider to share it publicly in a different discussion.
    Regards
    Rob

  • I have Mac OS X 10.4 - but Firefox 3.6.18; keep being harangued by your drop down window saying load Firefox 4 or 5; I do this including Adobe add-ons, but my Firefox edition does NOT upgrade. I am 65yrs, self-taught and stupid about computers.

This happens from time to time and I do comply to update my system. I think there is an incompatibility. I cannot afford to update my Mac to a more modern version which is where I suspect the incompatibility may lay.
I would not have known I needed to update Firefox without at least four occasions in which I have tried to upload Firefox 4 (no.4 I believe), at least four times because window was insistant, plus Adobe add-ons or flash player. Later I check and find what I have tried to do doesn't work or become more than what I already have.

  • How do you completely disable the installation and use of add-ons for firefox 4? Is there a config setting/file that can be changed to completely disable add-ons?

I want to completley disable the installation and/or use of add-ons in Firefox 4. I don't want anybody that logs onto either of my computers to be able to use add-ons and I can't find a way to disable it in the configuration files. I've found ways to lock down other options like updates etc. but I cannot find a way to completely disable add-ons.

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
You can use a mozilla.cfg file to lock prefs or specify default values.<br />
You can place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder to specify using mozilla.cfg.
You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes
To prevent users from installing software use:
    <pre><nowiki> //
    lockPref("xpinstall.enabled" ,false);
    </nowiki></pre>

  • Saprouter service on windows -  which user rights are required?

    Hi,
We have the saprouter service running in a windows 2003 server, this service is started by a user account named 'saprouter' which has its password set to never expires.
Due to security concerns, our IT Security Deparment have ask us to apply all the following restrictions to the 'saprouter' user:
       1) 'Logon locally' user right is disabled
       2) Userid is not a member of the Administrators group
       3) Deny access to the user rights: 'Access this computer from network' and      'Logon through Terminal Services'
As per our security policy, non-expiring passwords are allowed only for users that can meet all the conditions listed above.
The questions are ¿Which user rights should be granted to the user account that starts the saprouter service? ¿Could we apply the conditions listed above without impact the saprouter service?
Thank you for your kind attention.
    Sokram

following permissions are required to set SAPRouter working :
    1. password never expires
    2. user never change the password
    3. should be member of administrator
    4. profile --> home folder :c:\user\sap\saprouter (path of instllables)
    5. end disconnected session : never , active session limit : never , idle session limit : never
check if you can apply above points for your users

  • Admin Rights Win 8.1 Completely Lost

I have LOST completely ALL Admin Rights in WIN 8.1and cannot get it back under ANY circumstances. I have tried every solution offered so I don't need to be referred to
Advanced Security Settings or Control Panel - UAC  or
Regedit and I am fairly sure no one knows the answer to this problem. Anything I try to uninstall or change in any way merely refers me to the dialogue to Type Password and hit YES, however there is nowhere top do that and
YES is greyed out. And please don't mention updates...I have tried
EVERYTHING to do with accessing ADMIN RIGHTS but NOTHING
    works!!
The thing I would like to know now is how do I uninstall Win8.1 from my drive and install it back again?
It all seems impossible unless someone has a tool to hack Win 8.1 and reinstall the OS. I am beyond caring about lost data now.
It is ridiculous that MS doesn't have a way for me to access my account and be able to download a new copy of Win8.1.
If anyone has a solution I would very much appreciate it although I am not hopeful.
    Thank you, PW

    Hi,
Please press shift and Power button to restart computer, after we boot into Advanced menu -> Troubleshooting -> Command prompt:
Please try to run this command to reset permission:
    cd /d c:\
    icacls * /T /Q /C /RESET
If it doesn't work, we have to run a System Restore / reset / refresh process to get your computer back its previous state.
