Mac OSX lion does not connect to wifi automatically
Hi there
My mac osx lion does not connct to wifi automatically , or when i open the lid it doesn't connect either...
could you please help me with this problem?
Bump
is there anyone else with a Mountain Lion Mac and a TP-Link TL-WDR4300? I am almost sure that it's this combination that doesn't work. All other devices I have (Apple and non-Apple) can work perfectly on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, but the settings on the WiFi adapter on the Mac are the same for all Wireless networks, so I just don't get why it would work on 5Ghz but not on 2.4Ghz...
Thank you

New install of CS3 on my new Mac OSX Lion does not start
Good morning,
I have an old Mac running CS3, that was upgraded to Lion afterwards with no difficulty.
I bought a new Mac 27" Mac OSX Lion, when installing CS3 on it, the licence number does not register a green check (horrible red cross instead....) Licence number is valid, legally purchased....
What's wrong here? I can't aford to upgrade just for that reason....
LisaSince this is a serial number issue you can't post anywhere, I would do one-on-one chat support for activation:
http://adobe.ly/DI_Install_Activation_Chat
Where did you purchase your copy of Photoshop? My one concern is that the serial #/product was counterfeit:

If you determine that's the case, let me know and send me an email/private message. jtranber at adobe dot com -
IMac does not connect to wifi on boot
I own an iMac and run it with OS X 10.7.5. Ever since system update 10.7.3 (February 2012) my mac more often than not does not connect to wifi on boot. I have to select diagnostics and connect manually. I did a design of experiment and have now discovered that I do not have this problem if I wait about a minute to log in after the login prompt displays. I like my mac for it's fast startup. It is a shame to have to wait unecessarily for it to connect to wifi before logging in. I kenw this was a problem with the system update and this confirms it. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening so I don't have to wait?
It has been a month now and waiting a minute always works for connecting to my airport extreme on boot. I was cleaning behind my desk and realized that the ethernet cable was still attached to the back of the iMac even though I had moved the airport upstairs. I disconnected it. I also opened network preferences. The wifi was moved a long time ago to the top for priority, but the inactive ethernet and firewire were still listed. I removed both the ethernet and firewire so the only connection listed is wifi. My computer has now found the internet on 4 consecutive boots without waiting. It appears that having the other two options disrupts the connection process on boot. I will continue checking over the next week and let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!

[SOLVED] NetworkManager does not connect to WiFi networks
I'm using `networkmanager` to connect WiFi.
I have selected WiFi Name through `networkmanager`.
Next, enter WiFi Password.
But the problem is, `networkmanager` asks me about password again and again and over again and does not connect to WiFi never !!!!
I'm sure WiFi password that I entered is correct.

Mac OS X will not connect to wifi, airport is broken, will connect to internet with ethernet cord. Is there an accessory I can buy to replace airport so I don't have to use ethernet cord? Please help!!
Since the MacBook Pro currently works, you should put it next to the iMac and compare the network settings for AirPort in System Preferences Network pane Advanced. Also, if you want to start off with the default network settings, you can use Location drop down menu and select +Edit Locations+. Then click the plus sign to create a new location. Set up that new location.
On System Preferences Network pane, AirPort should appear at the top of the list (in the sidebar). To change the service order, click on the gear icon and select +Set Service Order+.
Some additional tests you can try, on top of seeing if it works with (1) WEP security disabled and (2) a direct wired connection to the router.
If you get it to work with either (1) or (2), be sure to run Software Update at least two times to apply any recent updates from Apple. See if that makes any difference to using AirPort with WEP back on.
(3) Start up in Safe Mode
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
I don't know if any third-party software has been installed on the iMac at this point, but Safe Mode will start up with only the essential Apple extensions and processes running. See if it works any better in Safe Mode.
(4) Create a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8235.html
Log out and log in to the new account. Try connecting with AirPort in the new account.
(5) Connect the MacBook Pro to the router with a wired Ethernet connection. Make sure its Internet access works. On System Preferences Sharing pane, set it up for +Internet Sharing+ so that it is set to +Share your connection from Ethernet - To computers using AirPort+. On the iMac, try to connect to that wireless network and access the Internet.
That last one (5) may be a good one to try first. It would at least show that the iMac's AirPort is working - you can even set it up to use WEP. If you have any questions about using the +Internal Sharing+ feature, please ask. -
Ipad mini does not connect SOME wifi
My iPad mini does not connect some wifi. I tried all instructions like resetting settings, on-off router, manuel configuration but it is still same. I am using same router at my home and with same confiqs, it is connecting there, other iPads, iPhones are also connecting to wifi here, It also connects some other wifi's.
I've read that there is no solution, I have to change it.
Do you have any other idea? Because here-Turkey- it is not easy to do it like USA.Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Macbook Pro 13" (Late 2013) does not connect to Wifi
Hi,
I just bought a new macbook pro 3 days back. It was working fine till it suddenly dropped connection to the home WiFi. Since then it shows a list of wifi options including the one that i was connected to but does not connect to it. The error message says that the computer cannot connect to the wifi. and asks me to run diagnostics
I have done the following
Run Diagnostic
Switched the wifi off and on
Restarted Mac
Deleted the network from the preferred list and tried to join again
Tried to manually enter the details of the wifi
Switched the router and modem off and on again
Any help would be really appreciated. It's just been 3 days with the mac and I wasn't expecting this.
regards,
ssDoes this connect to other WiFi networks?
As for the problematic WiFi network, see if > System Preferences > Network > select the WiFi network in the left column > Assist Me... and see if the Assistant and the Diagnostics options can provide any insight into the connectivity problem.
Failing that, take the MacBook Pro back into the folks at the Apple Store and have them take a look at it, and see if it'll connect to the WiFi network there. -
Iphone 5 does not connect to Wifi.
My Iphone will not connect to Wifi. My Macbook connects fine. I entered the password correctly, followed all the suggested steps, i.e. Forget this network and Reset the settings but nothing works. It worked for a bit, after I closed the page it failed to log back in.
I tried talking to Apple Support, they basically guided me through to restoring my phone as new backing all my data on my computer. Didn't work.
I didn't think to ask about this but it seemed like I wasn't the only person that came across this issue. It was working fine for me this morning at another wifi setup as home but now it is not. -
I Can not connect to wifi, I did all basic things like restart, reset settings, updates software... Nothing works please help!!!
Hi Alisadat,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
It sounds like you have intermittent Wi-Fi connection if you were able to update your iOS to 7.0.2?
Although you have tried some troubleshooting steps, I would suggest following the guide below in order to attempt to resolve this issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398?viewlocale=en_US
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
I hope this information helps ....

If you have a non-Apple "main" router, then "join" would have been the only way it could connect.
Unfortunately, the Time Capsule does not provide any routing functions in this type of setup, so the Ethernet ports are not enabled in this setting.
If you have an Apple "main" router, it may be possible to enable the Ethernet ports in another type of setting. Then you could connect the old Mac to one of the Ethernet ports on the Time Capsule for Internet access. -
In macbook pro with lion os apple gives a full-screen-mode icon in the top right corner of the window, which will be used to open that view in different window. But firefox does not support this. Even chrome supports it.
When will you bring this feature to firefox?. Currently I am in firefox 8.0.1No answers, but Mozilla is aware of the new release of Lion, and hopefully are working on solving some of the known issues. There are some rather formal technical discussions and reports, as mentioned in this contributors thread: [/forums/contributors/707160]

Download osx lion does not work
I bought osx lion (21 july 2011), downloading it now does not work
Again, what happens when you try to download Lion? I am able to do so by going to the Mac App store, making sure I am logged in to the account I previously purchased Lion using, then going to the Purchases tab. Where I see Lion in the list, to the right of it I see a Download button.

Mac book pro will not connect to wifi.
problem; mac book pro wont connect to wifi, reset router & rebooted. no help...
other mac book pro is working fine, as is iphones & ipads. this is isolated to the 1 device.
every time i run diagnostics it says the network configuration has changed, then prompts me
to enter password then takes me back to the orginal screen.Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.
First contact your ISP. You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

No internet connection (wireless)
Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

HP Deskjet 3055A does not connect to WIFI with security
I am trying to configure a Deskjet 3055A on my DD-WRT router. I am a highly skilled networking engineer so I know 100% what I am doing.
Firstly, DD-WRT does not support WPS conenction, because these are highly insecure. This means my only method of connecting the pritner to my home network is to connect it to my PC and use the installation utility (dowloaded from your drivers page) I am using version 28.8.
My router supports both 2.4 and 5GHz and I know the printer is only 2.4GHz. I completely disabled the 5GHz network for the purpose of connecting the printer even though it should not have any effect.
I have also rebooted my router, and reset the printers wireless network using its in-built control panel.
Anyway, after a shameful 2 hours troubleshooting, I managed to find out that the printer WILL NOT CONNECT to the WIFI network if any security is applied against it. It works 100% fine with open security however, this is completely unnacceptable.
I have tried both WPA Personal and also WPA2 Personal, both with the same effect.
For the sake of trying, I also added the printer to my open WIFI network and tried to manually edit the WIFI setting through the printers web interface however, whenever I try and access the Wireless setup wizard, I simply get an error saying "Internal System Error" - eventually I managed to get around this other bug that has been there for years (see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Internal-System-Error-prevents-access-t...
After going through the printers web interface WIFI setup, the issue is still the same and it will not connect.
HP, we were about to order 2500 of these printers for our remote site users. If you do not come up with a quick solution/bug fix, consider the business lost!

This question was solved.
View Solution. After much playing I managed to find a fix for this!
For all users who are unable to find a fix using the other methods, here's what to do.
Change your local network to open security but note down your WIFI setting for your typical setup.
Connect the printer to the open network using the HP software (using a USB cable)
Go to the printer's URL, but ensure you connect using HTTPS - if you get an internal system error, keep refreshing until it works (WHAT A JOKE!!!!)
Click on "Network" on the top, then click on "Advanced" on the left.
Enter the network settings as they should be when secured.
At the bottom, tick "In an infrastructure network, use 802.11b/g behaviour(assuming your netwoek supports g, otherwise use the b only option), then click apply.
Turn your wireless security back on, on your router and then the printer should connect!
I really am baffled as to why this isn't automatically enabled, if the printer doesn't work with wireless security on a Wireless N network, then have this as the default!
HP - feel free to thank me in this post!
