Mac osx n latest flash

I am on Mac with OS X but need latest Flash apparently, have downloaded it to HD loads of times yet still need it - WTF!!?? x

I totally agree about Flash, althouh there are still many sites out there that require Flash. In my case -- mostly for the video playback that was not converted to HTML5. And I do agree that portable devices should not have Flash... but it is an entirely different story about notebooks and desktops.
As Java goes (and I'm assuming that you're referring to the latest Flashback trojan) Oracle has nothing to do with it. The blame here completely goes to Apple. Due to previous patent disputes, Apple opted out of Oracle's code for the Mac OS X platform and chose to write their own version of Java. So when the Flashback virus first came out in the late 2011, Oracle quickly patched the hole that it was exploiting on the Windows and Linux platforms, but ... what we were faced with is a slow response from Apple in doing the same for OS X. So don't lump Oracle into it.... Just FYI.

  • Mac OSX 10.8 Flash Player Installer Problem-

Each time I try to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on my MacBook Air (2 different laptops!) I can go through the routine well. I notice that after 57% installed it suddenly jumps to 100%, then I click the box 'Fertigstellen', and then I am back at the Adobe Installer Box, and I cannot find the Adobe Flash Player anywhere in my computer. I have gone through De-Installation of old version, and made a re-start. As this happens on both laptops with Mac OS X 10.8. I assum there is a fundmental flaw in the Installer.

How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X

  • Can I install Mac OSX the latest version on a PC

I have seen video files of Mac OS X booting on a normal PC, so my question is that with the appearance of the new Intel Macs are we going to be able to run Mac OS X on PCs?
And is it this going to be allowed by APPLE?
      Windows XP Pro

    Short answer:
    Probably not.
    Long answer:
What you're seeing is people who've been able to hack Mac OS X for Intel *DEVELOPER PREVIEW* to run on commodity PC hardware. That Developer's Preview was based on a significantly different hardware platform that what's actually shipping on the Intel iMac and MacBook Pro.
Specifically, the difference is that the Developer's Preview was designed for a BIOS based mother board, while the shipping version is looking for Intel's Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI). At a bare minimum, you would need an EFI based MoBo, and those aren't shipping on your average Dell or HP right now.
Additionally, the shipping version of Mac OS X for Intel is probably significantly different than the Developer's Preview. Exactly what Apple may have done to prevent Mac OS X from booting on anything not made by them is unclear, but you can bet that they've done something and that it won't be easy to get around. It may be done it may not be, but it's not likely to run well or be easy to for any "Joe User" to do for himself.
It's also worth pointing out that installing Mac OS X for Intel on anything other than a system made by Apple is a violation of your license agreement with Apple and can land you in a lot of hot water.

  • Aurvana Bluetooth Pairing Issues with Mac OSX

Have Creative Aurvana Gold headphones and they pair with iOS devices pretty easily; however, on my Mac (OSX Mavericks latest) they now refuse to pair/stay paired. I've tried deleting the device from the Mac and re-pairing several times. Also rebooting, etc. Nothing seems to work.
The initial pairing goes perfectly and then after 20-30 seconds or so the connection drops. Battery is full. Tried powering the headphones on/off a million times, rebooting countless times, etc.
In Mac OSX Console I see this set of messages every time:

the headphones are connected: I see a steady blue blinking light on the multifunction button on the earpiece.
What can I do to fix this?

It's a third-party application. I suggest you contact the developer for technical support. These forums only provide support for Apple products.
The application may simply be incompatible with the version of OS X you are running.

  • Mac OSX wont update to latest Flash Player version.

My Mac OSX intel 10.6.8 will not play Flash Player. I have followed all the instructions, including "How to Perform a Clean Install" but Flash Player does not work. I have even checked with Apple Community site and followed suggestions regarding plug-ins, etc. but still it does not work. Quite niggled  because I dont have flash player on my Mac at all now, having followed Adobe's instructions to delete original. If necessary and if possible I would download a previous version.  Using Safari v. 5.1.9.
Before uninstalling for the umpteenth time, I was able to provide the following information (to Apple Support Community) but eventually they told me I should contact this site.

  • Reinstall Flash CS3 for Mac OSX

Recently had to replace the hard drive on my Mac Book Pro. Data transfer to the new hard drive went well EXCEPT for my attempts to reinstall Flash CS3 and Flash Player (I'm forgetting the name of the latest and greatest version of the media player--forgive my temporary ignorance). I followed all of the procedures outlined in the ReadMe file. Have tried it several times to no avail. I keep getting an error message at the end of the reinstall process and the program will not open. All of the application files appear to be on my hard rive. Something is missing or needs to be repaired. I just don't know where to start to find out what needs to be repaired or replaced or updated. I suspect that because there have been numerous updates to Flash player, something related is interfering with the reinstall process. Any advice help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

    You'll find a debug folder and a 10.3.183.90 folder. It's in the
    latter. It'll be a DMG named 10_3_183_90.dmg.

  • Flash Player 9 mac osx install problem

For ages now I've been trying to install flash 9 on my mac (OSX latest version), and it doesnt work. I can download the installer, open it and run it. The installation works up until "4 items remaining" when the install bar starts showing grey and white stripes with a message above or below which says "searching macintosh hd". This goes on indefinitely, Ive tried leaving it for a while and eventually it just freezes. At the moment I have absolutely no internet video capability, not anything flash based anyway. help me please.

I have the similar problem on my iMac Intel Duo Core running OS X 10.4.9. The Installer told me that I don't have the access privileges to install Flash when the progress bar shows 1 item remaining (flashplayer.xtp). I tried repairing disk permission with Onyx and starting up from the OS X Install DVD but all these didn't help. I am using the correct installer (the Universal Binary one).

  • Troubles using Flash on Mac OSX

    Operating System:  Mac OSx 10.5.8
    Web Browser:  Firefox 16.0.2
    Flash Player Version:  10.3.183.90
It seems to me I have the latest available flash player version for my operating system but I am still unable to view certain videos or strems.
When I attempt to watch a video I receive the following message "You need Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.  Download it from Adobe."
I have uninstalled my flash player using the uninstall program for the version I have, then reinstalled the flash player. The installation goes fine but I still receive this message when trying to watch a video.
On this site here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html   It tells me I do not have the latest version of flash player but none of the later versions are supported for my operating system.
    Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Yes and no...
    If it's a Core™Duo, you're stuck with 10.5.8, because it's a 32 bit processor.
If it's a Core2™Duo, then you can upgrade to Snow Leopard for just $19.99 through Apple.
Either way, 10.3.183.90 is the end of the line for Leopard.
10.5.8, being a "universal binary" OS, has to have compatiblity for PowerPC Macs, and that limits how far it can go with anything. Office 2004 is the newest version that will run on Leopard, and it CAN'T create .doxc, .xlsx. or .pptx documents that 2008 and 2011 use.
Safari can't go higher than 5, Firefox is limited to 16. There's just a lot that 10.5 can't and won't handle.

  • Can't install flash player on Mac OSX version 10.4.11

    Hello
I've spent the morning trying to do this and still no joy. I had flash player already and when trying to use the 4oD website it asked me to download or upgrade flashplayer. I did, the correct version according to my mac version. All goes well and the window message says 'installed successfully'.The only thing I find strange is that just before this message appears I hear the sound of items being put in the 'trash' ... and there they are. Other times the message error -1409 appears. The only icon that appears is the Flash player installer.pkg so not sure whether the application was installed or just the installer!  All web searches prompt me to download the missing plug in, both in safari and mozilla. Java script is definitely enabled on both browsers.
I have use the uninstall package three times, restarted the computer, downloaded flash player again but no change.
Forgive my limited use of jargon - this doesn't make any sense to me but I've just spent 3 hours following instructions to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the menu bar, quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
If that didn't help, install the v10.5.8 combo update.

From one to another day it wasn't possible to watch  videos from certain TV channels in my browser (Firefox, but I think it doesn't matter).
I have Mac OSX 10.5.8 and don't know how I can use Flashplayer 11.7. Do I have to upgrade to Mac OSX 10.6? Does it really work then?
Or is the technical progress so fast, that if I upgrade to 10.6, they invent a new Flashplayer and I can't use it anymore? Do I have to upgrade maybe even to Mac OSX 10.7 and then OSX 10.8? I am confused...
It is really unfair, that a 5 year old laptop is too old to use normal equipement!
Can someone help me and tell me if my assumption is right?

The apple store is so unhelpful. I have an iMac computer operating on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I want to upgrade to the latest Mountain Lion operating system so I can work with the iCloud on my computer and download my emails. I can't seem to purchase this on-line as it keeps telling me to go to the app store. I haven't got the app store on my computer as I am told I need iCloud for which I need the new operating system, which I can't download or purchase as I am sent back to an instruction telling mee to go to the app store icon.
How difficult can it be to simply purchase the software on-line have it shipped to you so you can install it, in the event it cannot be downloaded as it appears it can't be based on my curent operating systems being Mac OSX 10.5.8.

Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from download, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.

MAC OSX 10.4.11 I succumbed to the constant messages telling me that I didn't have the latest version, despite being happy with the one I had. My old version and all my bookmarks have been deleted and now my Mac says it doesn't support Firefox!!!!! How can I recuperate my old settings? in English

Firefox 4 versions and later '''do not run on a PowerPC Mac''' (like yours) and require '''at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac'''.
The latest supported version for your os is '''3.6.27''' , you can download it from:
    http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    1. Download a 3.6.27 copy of the Firefox from the above link
    2. Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install.
    3. Install the new version that you have downloaded(3.6.27)
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so probably you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data, if you don't already ''totally'' uninstall firefox(user data and settings like bookmarks, extensions, etc. located here: ~Library/Application Support/Firefox so you must uninstall it separately, to totally uninstall firefox).

It is likely that you downloaded AirPort Utility 5.6.1.  If you checked the requirements, this only runs on Leopard or Snow Leopard Macs.
