MAC OSX - Wont mount media card on Curve 8320

Hi,
Just to get it out of the way. I have:
1. Turned Media card on
2. Turned Mass Storage Mode on
3. Enabled Mass Storage mode when connected (yes)
4. Formatted the media card countless times
5. Enabled password on Curve 8320
6. Updated Curve OS to latest 4.5
Despite all my efforts, the media card does not mount under OSX (10.5.6)
I can take pictures and save to the media card so I know its there and working, but I cant see the card under OSX or Windows (VMWare) no matter what I try.
Any help is deeply appreciated.

I'm having nearly the same problem with my 2 Verizon Curve 8330's
I'm using OS X 10.5.8.
One device has 4.5.0.77, the other has 4.5.0.138.
Media card is on, Mass Storage is on, Enable Mass Storage when connected is on.
The card works fine on the device - eg, I can save pictures, etc to it, and the device can read the media that I put on the card via a card reader.
The USB works fine, eg PocketMac can see the device and sync my calendar and contacts. If I connect the device to a Windows machine, Desktop Manager can detect it and I can install software, etc.
BUT - the media card is not detected as a mass storage device - it never appears as a mounted volume, and PocketMac (and Media Sync on Windows) are unable to detect the card.
I've tried two different cards in each device, connecting to Mac and Windows machines, with the result I described above every time.
I know these media card problems are very common, but I've tried every solution I can find (checking settings, reformatting cards, uninstalling/re-installing drivers and software, etc) and nothing seems to help.
Since the card works fine on the device, and the USB connectivity seems to be fine, and my mass storage settings are all correct - what could I possibly be doing wrong?

Can't retrieve pics or video from the media card in curve 8320

Hi. New & dumb to smartphones, so this 8320 is a big step into the current world. It was cheap, works great & I'm slowly getting it figured out.
Only one issue so far. When I took pics without a media card & they were stored on the device, I could use the desktop software to transfer them to my computer.
After I installed a media card, even though the the pics & videos are stored on the card and I can view them on the phone, the desktop software doesn't see them. It only shows the device. In the options menu, the media card support is on, & mass storage mode is enabled,
When I plug the phone in to the computer, even though the computer beeps to show connection & the BB desktop software shows the phone connected, windows explorer does not recognize an external drive (phone) and in the desktop software there is no option for storing the pics on anything other than the device. I can remove the card & use a card reader to transfer the pics, but the BB software can't see them.
What am I missing?

Before start receiving the pictures in your blackberry device go to media, press menu and receive using bluetooth.
After this start the file transfer and you'll be ok.

Mac OSX wont reognise my internal hard disk drive

I have a problem where for some reason when I start up my Macbook Pro (intel core duo) it does not detect the internal hard disk drive at all. I have run a hardware test and it shows no problems whatsoever. I have tried resetting the PRAM etc and to no avail. Yesterday the system hung and I tried to force quit and it wouldn't do anything so eventually I held down the power key and when it tried to reboot this is the problem I was faced with (it would boot up with the "no entry" sign). I accepted complete defeat and went to completely re-install OSX however it doesn't even show the internal hard drive when I wait for it to give me install destinations. I had tried seeing the hard drive through disk utility however it only shows the install DVD and that's it in the sidebar. I resigned myself further to thinking either the logic board or the HDD had packed in all and I took it round to my brother in law to see if there is anything he could do without opening the machine (he is Oxford educated and writes programmes etc so is very knowledgable), now this is the part that has miffed us both, he started it up using a Linux disc and once running, Linux see's the hard drive with no problems. He has been able to access the HDD with absolutely no problems under Linux both reading and writing to it. I even took my Mac Mini round and he booted them both up in Linux and completely copied Mac OSX from the mini to the macbook pro but still when I try booting up its as if the HDD isn't even there. Why can Linux see the drive and not Mac OSX? Please don't be affraid to get very technical in your answers as they may mean nothing to me but will probably all make sense to my brother in Law. Any sugestions at all would be greatly accepted.

You guys may have made a big error cloning the Mini HD into the MBP. They both have very different drivers and hardware settings and their OS X versions are customized to fit the hardware. That is why each mac comes with it's own version of OS X and their backup disks. That's a reason why it did not work.
Ok, so now that you do not have any of the original info on the MBP try the following:
Use linux to scan the disk surface & repair any problems.
Reformat the drive as DOS or FAT 32. (I wouldn't go into any linux specific format unless you can "Apple" format it, which I don't think linux has that option.)
Now, the MBP should be able to see it's drive...
boot from the OS X DVD , from the Utilities menu choose Disk Utilities, partition the drive as GUI file system (in case the linux format made the drive a "system boot record", you do not want that... )
Then format the drive as "OS X Extended Journaled"
Now go back to install and install your original basic set of OS X (the factory default).
*If nothing works, please do take your MBP to the Apple store or to a certified tech before you do more damage to the drive and it becomes unusable ...*

Mac OSX wont update to latest Flash Player version.

My Mac OSX intel 10.6.8 will not play Flash Player. I have followed all the instructions, including "How to Perform a Clean Install" but Flash Player does not work. I have even checked with Apple Community site and followed suggestions regarding plug-ins, etc. but still it does not work. Quite niggled because I dont have flash player on my Mac at all now, having followed Adobe's instructions to delete original. If necessary and if possible I would download a previous version. Using Safari v. 5.1.9.
Before uninstalling for the umpteenth time, I was able to provide the following information (to Apple Support Community) but eventually they told me I should contact this site.

In my Macromedia folder thereare the following subfolders: Flash Player, Security, Shared Objects, macromedia.com (underneath which s listed 'version .txt', www.macromedia.com (which contains a further sub-folder 'bin' and fpupdatepl.
This is all mumo jumbo to me and I do not want to delete the wrong thing.

Mac osx wont open adobe

I had adobe working fine then upgraded to mac osx and now internal error comes up for adobe.

You need to give us more detail. Upgrade to Mac OS X from what Mac OS 9? Unlikely. What version of OS X did you move from and what version of OS X did you move to? You may need to install a new version of Adobe Reader. Try going to http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Mac osx wont boot up

I turned on my laptop this morning but the mac osx load bar goes about half way and turns into a blue blank screen. I can't do anything except restart. I tried 3 times and the same thing happens.
Any help would be great because i have a book due. Thanks.

I have a similar problem when I tried to boot up my PowerBook G4. When I Startup or Restart the Powerbook, sometimes I hear the hard drive spinning but I don't hear any chime sound and nothing happens on the screen. I tried many different ways(command-control-power) to start my computer but sometimes no success. Then all of sudden I hear the Chime and it works. after that everything works fine.
I am afraid to Shut down or Restart my computer.
I want to startup my computer with Install CD (or DVD) but whenever I tried that, I have more diificult time booting the PowerBook. I hear Hard Drive spinning and CD spinning but nothing happens after that.
Can anyone knows what is causing this problem and how can I trouble shoot this issue?

Mind you don't go for the cheap media cards...you should also consider quality vendors as well. Because the performance of the device you should have a quality SD card in your device.

Invalid sibling link, drive with osx wont mount/terminal doesnt see it

So I am having problems on my macbook pro with 10.4.11.
I had a freeze today and did a force restart. Now however, when it goes to boot I get the grey screen and spinning wheel the a power off.
I have booted from my install disk doing d and c. There were no problems with the hardware tests.
When I boot from the install disk holding down C and do disk utility my drive with osx is faded out and a repair disk gives me the sibling link error.
I have tried fsck_hfs -r in terminal and get missing special device errors. When I type df in terminal I can't see my partition with OSX (I have a windows and osx partition)
I am going to try fsck_hfs -fy but am not optimistic.
No norton to my knowledge has ever been on this machine (might have benn on my g4 before it)
Also booting in target mode or single user get me nowhere either.
Any suggestions on fixes or do I need a disk wipe and or new drive?

Unfortunately DU can't fix all that much, your best bet is DiskWarrior, you need the CD though.

Accessing Blackberry media card on mac ?

I am not able to transfer/ Access music files from my blackberry media card to Mac book pro. however i can transfer pictures into mac but cant access media card as i used to do earlier on my HP. lz help tnx

Bootcamp drive wont mount

i partitioned my hard drive and installed xp sp2 on my hard drive and everything works fine but in mac it wont mount my drive so i cant use parallels without installing a whole new copy of windows ive gone into the disk utility and it says its diskOs3 when i click mount it says cannot mount try running first aid cannot do that since its a read only drive any advise other than reinstalling windows from scratch

I have PowerMacs G4 Quicksilvers with SCSI drives running 10.5.8. They boot and run OK without an added driver, faster with an added driver for their ATTO cards.

PCMICA Media Card Reader only mounts once per session

After I restart and insert my PCMICA media card reader will show up on the desktop but only once. After I eject the card and reinstall it will not show up on the desktop. The card appears in the menu bar but no where else not on the desktop or in a finder sidebar. It acts like it is permanently ejected. The only solution is to restart which is time consuming during a photo-shoot (Sleep/Wake and Finder Relaunch do not solve this). I have two media card readers one for CF cards and a 4in1 for smaller cards. Both act in the same way and once one has been ejected the other wont mount as well. Both cards worked fine in system 10.3.9. System log does not show any difference in loading when it mounts and when it doesn't.

Well, I tried the hardware test and now we know it is a software problem(hardware checks out fine).
I checked out the Delkin website. That was disappointing. Looks like I need to buy more hardware to solve this one. Worse yet if I spend the $100 for two cards they wont work in my next laptop as I plan to get a MacBook as soon as PhotoShop is Intel ready.
So now the question is what do I do with this growing mountain of unusable peripherals. My business is small but we've bought a lot of macs. Close to 50 now. We had a few before Y2K and just before we replace all the PCs with iMacs and G4's. System 8.6 was great and every printer and reader and camera and scanner and external storage device (some going back to 1989) worked great. Now that we have "upgraded" the software so we can do really complicated things like properly viewing web pages and send authorized email nothing works right. I have faxes (Apple 56k in a G4) that can't detect detect dial tone when faxing but can connect to the internet as a modem. Printers that print fine in TextEdit (PS fonts and all) but can't print out of Excel. Dont even get me started about fonts. The list keeps growing and the only answer I hear is to replace perfectly good hardware with new stuff. Then when I do I find the software wont work. (I had to use a old laptop with 10.3 to run the latest software from Version to set up a friends home DSL.) I need to get out of this loop it is costing more than it's worth.

since the CC2014 version of Premiere has been released (on Creative Cloud) I'm experiencing - really often - the MEDIA PENDING (yellow background) issue... even if the clip can be found right clicking and selecting "reveal in finder" or "reveal in project", in the timeline the clip can't be played. Not to mention the many many problems the app is causing stopping working suddenly and obligating me to restart the system to have it regularly working again (usually it stops reproducing the video, only the audio stays alive, but the playhead seems freezes there where I left it).
One more problem: all the app (and customized) keyboard shortcuts are gone. Totally disappeared (this happened just after the last update, CC v8.1 Caravan. Synching from CC was unsuccessful.
Please don't suggest me to contact the adobe italian service to have an help... the last time (almost the same problem) they just made me lose time with some basic procedure checks that I knew were not leading me anywhere.
I ask sorry for my polemic tone, it's a few months that Adobe Premiere is not working anymore as before. And you can't immagine how many hours I've lost.

LaCie Media Card Reader & Mac Pro

I have a couple of LaCie media card readers that read several types of cards; they connect via USB, and work fine with my G5 and G4s, but I can't get it to mount on my MacPro. There are no software drivers/downloads for this unit. I see that LaCie has a newer model available on their site, but the specs don't say if it will work on Intel Macs. Has anyone had any luck using one of these with their Mac Pro or other Intel Mac?

For instance one of the media readers I use looks exactly like the LaCie Imatumi media reader, which looks exactly like the Trendnet TMR-61ua2, which looks like.. well you get the idea.
Anyway, see if it is listed in the System Profiler under the USB item. If it is, then try inserting a memory card and see if you can manually mount it using disk utility.
