Mac + parallels and https site test = router restarts

Ok I have an interesting & very frustrating problem happening. I'm going to explain it the best I can.
I work as a graphic designer & web designer on a mac and have a Comcast internet connection that comes through a Comcast branded router (SMC8014) which then ties into an Airport Extreme Base Station which runs my office network. I run OS 10.5.7 and also run Parallels 4.0.3 (running Windows XP) for testing websites in Internet Explorer and so on.
Ok, so that the basic background. Here's my issue.
I've been collaborating an ecommerce website with another designer/developer and when testing the site on the PC side we have started to run into some sort of network problem. The site is https if that matters at all I suspect it may. Basically when I run parallels for testing I am constantly having to restart the router in order to connect to the test site (it's hosted). Funny thing is I can access the rest of the internet fine, just not this site I'm working on until I restart the router (It's sorta like the site is timing out). This never happens when just running the Mac side of things. It only becomes an issue when Parallels is open and I am doing page refreshes while making css or HTML edits via something like Coda or CSS edit (connected to the hosting server via ftp). The real problem is that once the problem starts I only get about 2 or 3 page loads before I have to restart the router again. It's absolutely crippling. I cannot get any work done when I have to restart the router every couple of minutes.
So, if you think this problem is isolated to me, the answer is no. The designer/developer I'm collaborating with has an office a couple miles away and experiences very similar problems under slightly different setup. He also has Comcast as his internet provider and connects his router to an Airport and primarily works on a mac. The main difference is that rather than using a visualizer like parallels to test the website on the PC he uses a real live PC that is on his network. Once he fire up the PC to do testing he runs into the same issue described above. After a couple of page refreshes in Internet Explorer or other browser on the PC the site becomes unresponsive and the router has to get restarted.
Any thoughts on what is going on here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Where could I possibly look for a firewall rule. I knowingly did not creat any. My system has internet coming to a Modem which then is connected to a wireless router. I have computers connecting to the router through cable as well as wireless. One of these computers has been our mailserver using Mercury and Pegasus and that computer has a static IP address. The Mac Mini also has been assigned a different srtatic IP address. I have only set up user account, none of them an email account as I initially expect them to receive only internal mails. The install DVD's are specific to the model they shipped with.....if your friends Mac is not the same exact model it will not work.....plus I do not think it is totally legal.....

I would imagine that at school, you're required to connect through an HTTP proxy.
From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. Enter the proxy settings given to you by the network administrator. Click OK and then Apply.
You may wish to create separate network locations for home and school. See the built-in help for instructions.

Lync mobility and HTTP authentication test failed. Is reverse proxy required?

I currently have the following setup.
1 x 2013 edge server lync1.local.com
has 3 dmz ips for external names
has 1 internal ip
2 x 2013 std front end servers lync2 & lync3.local.com
Ive read that in 2013 the mobility service is installed automatically on the front end servers and i do see it running on both.
All my clients can connect from the windows and mac clients(internally and externally) but not from phone or windows app store client (internally or externally)
running the exchangeconnectivity test on the website i get the following error

After some reading I notice that many people refer to a reverse proxy when dealing with mobility.
I do not have a reverse proxy server installed. Is this required for the mobility to work correctly? I cant just use the edge server?

MAC Air and web sites will not display

I have a MAC Air and when i log on to the scholl web site "newfordtech.com the page is blank! I also tried Firefox and goggle chrome with the same affect!

Try a different DNS server.
Open System Preferences > Network. Click Advanced then select the DNS tab.
Click + then type in this address:
208.67.222.222
Click + again and type in this address:
208.67.220.220
Click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari. See if you can access that url.
I could without a problem.

Wireless guest and HTTPS sites issue

I'm experiencing an issue with wireless guest, when accessing a site with https, the traffic is not intercepted by my controller, http sites are intercepted without any issue, I've found a document where this issue is mentioned as bug ID CSCar04580

Mac hangs and takes 1 hour to restart.

i have a mac book pro which i bought in 2010 and has a core 2 duo processor. after i installed lion on it, my mac keeps on hanging. i have to shut it down then, and then to restart, it takes at least 40 minutes. yesterday, it took 1 hour to restart. my software is up to date and i don't run any heavy applications. please help.

If you up the logging level to Information or Debug you should see something like this in the Mail.log: "NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from . . . . 450 . . . . Recipient address rejected: Service is unavailable:"
Greylisting is enabled by default as soon as you start the Mail Service. Any legitimate mail server will try and send again to your domain. Spammers will give up and move onto an easier target.

Mac freezes and says I need to restart because boot camp fails to load.

2007 Macbook 2.16ghz dual core intel 4 gig ram 128 gig sata hd running osx lion 10.75 and Boot Camp is running Windows 7 64 bit. The screeen freezes before I am able to copy and paste the error. How do I fix this? Please help!

I then load the recovery partition by holding down the option key immediately after pressing the power button. Macintosh HD, the windows partition, and recovery HD pop up, I select recovery, then go into Disk utility. Then the Windows partition is in the top left, I select that, and repair disk, however the repair disk option is not accessable. The only option is verify disk. Repair disk is not available!!

Windows 7 OEM parallels and Bootcamp, installation sequence?

So ive got a 2013 macbook air and planning on using the OEM licence to firstly create a bootcamp partition, and the having parallels run off the bootcamp partition. Now I understand I might have to go through the whole phone activation the second time. My question is ...what sequence should I use to activate.Should I activate parallels first after the installation of parallel tools or can I just activate bootcamp first????

This is why I originally suggested that you read the activation directions on the Parallels and Fusion sites. They address the issue of Windows thinking that the VM installation is a second installation of Windows when in fact it is not. This is because you are not installing Windows in Parallels you are only pointing to your single Bootcamp installation of Windows. This is an issue that has been addressed by the VM manufacturers.

Seeking help with Mac refurbs and licensing

This question has been dogging me for some time.
I work with a company whose primary mission includes delivering computers and computer training to low-income citizens in the Seattle area. While we deal primarily with Windows PCs, we have a small but significant number of Macs. All of the computers we receive are donated by local businesses, and many ship without the benefit of an original OS to work from.
The Macs in question are primarily "Sawtooth" G4's
We've tested many of these Macs with OS X 10.3.
I am the only person within the company who has any knowledge of the Mac platform, and in my testing, I've found that the Macs we carry perform on a level with our typical Pentium III desktop units. I'd absolutely love to help the company get these Macs out the door--but we've been stumped by licensing issues.
So, here's the question: As a small non-profit organization, are there any avenues we can pursue to acquire Mac OS X licenses for refurbished units at minimal cost?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Like Donny has suggested I'd try contacting Apple.
Failing that, it seems a shame there isn't a simple and cheap way for people to donate their old OS X system discs/licences. I only use my Mac for home use here in the UK but have a whole load of old OS X system discs (original full retail versions) going back to the public beta. They're not in use anymore as the computers have since been upgraded with later versions of the OS. I guess I could try and sell them on eBay but for the few pounds they'd fetch it probably isn't worth the trouble. I'm wondering whether there are any similar people closer to home (in the States) that would be willing to donate their old OS X system discs/licences to a good cause - and not subjecting anyone to Windows has to be a good cause no matter where they live!

[SOLVED] Only https sites are opening after update

Today I updated whole system, but after update my browsers (firefox and konqueror) are not able to open http sites. I'm only able to open https sites. Everything was working fine before the update. But I'm able to ping both https and http sites:

Constant router restarts

Me again... My profile problems are hopefully behind me, but the problem is now that my connection keeps resetting. In the last 4 hours it has done it 6 times, which is worrying.

Well, I have a theory on why this is happening. My Downstream speed is constantly saying "6655 kbps" , and there are a steady number of restarts associated with this. However occasionally it will drop down to about 3000 ish, and then the connection is often stable for days. Never lasts, as the router then restarts again and hops up to 6655 again...

Note that the "Loss of signal" stat has reset itself. Just an hour ago it was well over 100 "Local" and 0 "Remote", but I was forced to do a manual boot so its reset itself.
Done QLT, line is as quiet as quiet can be really.
Is there any help that I can get ? When I try and download things, the router restarts and I have to start the download all over again. This can happen 3 or 4 times before I finally get the file, and its a helluva lot of wasted bandwidth.
Its also very annoying for general browsing, although I am quite used to the "api.home" messages. I could probably recite some of the spiel on them I've seen them so often...

Unable to authenticate to https sites using ntlmv2 on Mac OS 10.6 and Firefox 11.0

I am using a Mac with OS X 10.6. The Firefox version is 11.0.
we cannot authenticate to https:// sites that require NTLMv2. We were able to use Firefox on the Mac to authenticate to https:// sites until our organization dropped NTLMv1 and required the use of NTLMv2. The problem on the PC was corrected by using the NTLM plugin but we have never managed to correct the problem on the Mac. The operating system does not appear to be the problem since Safari can authenticate to these sites. I have added the https:// url to the network.negotiate-auth.delegation-uris, network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris and the network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris parameters (which is necessary to correct the problem on the PC). After reading the thread about ntlmv2 authentication in Lion I also set network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies and network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies to false but I still can't authenticate. I also tried creating an nsmb.conf file in /etc with minauth=ntlmv2

Thanks for the posts. I set network.ntlm.send-lm-response to TRUE but the behavior was the same. I changed https:// to http:// and made sure there were no trailing /'s but still cannot authenticate
