MAC Photoshop Help?

I recently purchased Photoshop Elements 11 Student and Teacher Edition, and was able to install the Premier version, but unable to install the Photoshop Elements 11 version because I was asked to close out of ElementsAutoAnalyzer, PhotoShopServer, and DynamicLinkManager.  However, when I searched my Mac for these programs so that I could close out of them, they didn't exist!  I'm not sure how to proceed; can you please send me some instructions, or a link to what to do in this scenario?
The message I get when I am prevented from installing is as follows (I also receive this message when I try to UNinstall the software, so uninstalling is not an option):
Exit Code: 24

  • Where is the "Photoshop Help Folder" located on the Mac?

    Hi all,
I am trying to install Strata 3D tryout and it is asking for the location of the "Additional How To Content" folder, inside the "Photoshop Help Folder". I cannot find the "Photoshop Help Folder"... can someone tell me where it is located?
Thanks a lot in advance for your assistance:)
    Christine

If you are not online and choose help, you'll get a html-based and non-updated version that's being read from your Libraries' Application Support folder.
If you want a help.pdf you can get it here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/photoshop_cs4_help.pdf
But by using the online version you're always up to date with Adobe, as probably is intended hence the help setup.

On my mac, photoshop cc "save as" removes capture date from exif data. How do I prevent this?

You had to reinstall CS6 after cancelling the CC as both were from the same Adobe ID. You can always use & keep both CC & CS6 together.

Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.

When looking at my "About This Mac" it says that I have 60gb of space left on my hard drive, but when I go into finder to find all of these files there is not 300gb worth in anything I search, even searching, "All files on the Mac". Help!?
It says I have over 150 gigs of video on my hard drive. But I have gone through and deleted almost all of what shows up, still it says there is roughly the same amount on the hard drive. Where are these files? I want to delete them so I can have my hard drive clear.
    Thanks for your help guys!

    Quote from the article.
Time Machine in OS X Lion includes a new feature called "local snapshots" that keeps copies of files you create, modify or delete on your internal disk. Local snapshots compliment regular Time Machine backups (that are stored on your external disk or Time Capsule) giving you a "safety net" for times when you might be away from your external backup disk or Time Capsule and accidentally delete a file.
So what makes a notebook any different then a desktop, other then with a desktop you might have your tm backup drive connected all the time.
The object here is to not indiscriminately delete files you need or want to keep. I personally have never deleted a file I wanted to keep.
In essence a backup is for catastrophic failure of your system. So it can be restored once that failure has been fixed. Not because you go in willy nilly and start deleting files.

  • I believe that I have a keylogger or some sort of spyware installed on my mac, please help!

I followed this procedure to check my files:
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
The following procedure will help whether your system has been modified. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then either copy or drag it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
    Step 1
Copy or drag — do not type — the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'
Post the lines of output (if any) that appear below what you just entered (the text, please, not a screenshot.) You can omit the final line ending in “$”.
    Step 2
    Repeat with this line:
    sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfix|x)/{print $3}'
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning.
Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.
    Step 3
    launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.apple|edu\.mit|org\.(x|openbsd)/{print $3}'
    Step 4
    ls -1A /e*/mach* {,/}L*/{Ad,Compon,Ex,Fram,In,Keyb,La,Mail/Bu,P*P,Priv,Qu,Scripti,Servi,Spo,Sta}* L*/Fonts 2> /dev/null
    Step 5
osascript -e 'tell application "System Events" to get name of every login item' 2> /dev/null
Remember, steps 1-5 are all drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, whichever you prefer — no typing, except your password. Also remember to post the output.
    You can then quit Terminal.
I believe that I have a keylogger or some sort of spyware installed on my mac, please help!

Since yesterday the photoshop help (F1) will not display - though the bottom row icon is shown. (clicking this icon causes the mouse pointer to whirl but nothing happens).
What have I done??:-  I was playing around with a string of video frames to make an animation. I was flicking backa nd forth between Photoshop and Image Ready and at one time I tried to export to Flash SWF.
I've tried restroring my computer to a time before I was messing around with the video frames, but stil cannot access Photoshop Help (either through the menu or F1).
    any and all  help welcome
    regards
    Tony

Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store.  Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays.  You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor.  If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected.  I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

  • Can anyone help me sync calendars from my iPhone to my Mac and help me figure out how to edit or delete lists in Reminders?

Can anyone help me sync calendars from my iPhone to my Mac and help me figure out how to edit or delete lists in Reminders?  I thought upgrading to Mountain Lion would work, but I'm having the same problem as before under Snow Leopard.  So, here's my situation.
I'm running 10.8.2 on a Macbook Pro.  I have a 3GS iPhone running 6.0.1.  I can make entries on my Mac Calendar and they will show up on my iPhone, but if I make an entry on my iPhone, it never makes it to my Mac.  Also, I notice that when I log in to my iCloud account on my Mac, it has a "me.com" email address as my apple i.d., but it is not my primary account i.d. and I can't figure out how to delete it.  Also, my Reminders application won't allow me to delete lists I created.  Contacts, on the other hand, work instantaneously regardless of where the change is initiated.

On you iPhone check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar (in the calendars section).  Here be sure you have selected the Calendar listed under your iCloud account ID as your default.  If you haven't, make this change, then enter a new event on your phone and see if it syncs properly now.
You should be able to delete you reminders list by, from the Lists view, tapping Edit at the top, then tapping next to the list you want to delete and tapping Delete.

  • My iphoto wont open since i updated my mac, please help? it says i need to install an iphoto library upgrader which I have installed but still cant see my photos.

What version of iPhoto are you using? 9.6 is the current version.
    Do a backup.
    Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.
