Mac plus operating system?

Hello everyone,
I just pulled my old mac plus out from my garage, and was wondering where i could get a operating system floppy disk so i could use it, because when i turn it on it either:
Has a black screen and beeps continuously.
Or just has a blank white screen that flashes on and off every few minutes...
i would appreciate it if anyone could tell me anything that would help.

Yes, any Macintosh computer with a built-in floppy drive is OK. However, for practical reasons, one of the models with a floppy drive for 1.44 MB (see the technical specifications) should be used. This 1.44 MB Mac floppy drive will handle 800K, too.
If the Mac operating system on that intermediary computer contains a PC Exchange control panel, a PC-formatted floppy disk can be read (it will appear on the Desktop with a "PC" floppy icon). If so, just drag-copy any downloaded .bin files (as they are, do not alter them on the PC) to a PC diskette (1.44 MB), and use that floppy for the transfer.
Alternatively, use a PC utility for Mac disks (such as TransMac or an old freeware program called HFVExplorer) for transfers on Mac-formatted 1.44 MB floppy disks.
Once on the intermediate Mac, decode the files (use StuffIt Expander for Macintosh for this). If you do not have StuffIt Expander, you can download the MACDISK.EXE file here onto a PC. Then prepare an empty PC-formatted 1.44 MB diskette via FORMAT A: in DOS or the full formatting option under Windows. Launch the MACDISK.EXE program on the PC. Follow the on-screen directions. This will result in a floppy with a StuffIt Expander installer that can be used in a Macintosh computer.
One additional difficulty is that you need 2DD/DSDD diskettes for the final step where 800K floppies are created in Disk Copy 4.2. 2DD/DSDD disks have only one square hole (with a slider), whereas a "normal" 1.44 MB HD diskette has two (one with and one without a slider). 2DD/DSDD diskettes are hard to find today. The magnetic materials are not the same, but for a very temporary use (expect errors) one can cover the extra square hole (the one without a write-protect slider) in an HD diskette with a piece of tape.

No. The gray-colored restore DVDs provided with a Mac are not the retail OS version. They contain only the drivers applicable for the purchased hardware, and the installer has a function to verify the hardware is of the type the disk was created for. If you attempt to use the Mac Pro restore disk on a different model Mac, it will simply refuse to install.

My Mac's operating system no longer compatible with my Deskjet 3050A

Hi,
I haven't used my printer in a while because it hasn't been working. But I'm tired of running to my neighborhood FedEx Office so am tackling this issue today.
I went to install the HP software on my MacBook Air and was told "installer not compatible with the version of the operating system on your computer. It is compatible only with 10.6 and below."
My Mac is running OSX, version 10.9.5. Is there anyway to make the printer compatible?

A full feature driver for Mavericks is not available for your printer, either from the CD that shipped with your printer or from the HP website. This document applies to HP printers supported in Mac OS X versions 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), 10.9 (Mavericks), and 10.10 (Yosemite) that only have drivers available through Apple Software Update.
If you would like, I can help you put the printer on your wireless network without software. I use this method for iPads, iPhones and other devices that do not have software.
Restore the network defaults on the printer by pushing the wireless button, going to settings, and then restore defaults. The wireless button should then start flashing, this means it is now in autowireless mode.
Connect to the network that the printer is broadcasting. It is usually HP-setup-3050a and then part of the MAC address. The wireless light will still be flashing on the printer at this point, this is normal since this is not an actual adhoc connection.
Load up the Embedded Web Server (EWS) in the browser on your mobile device. The default IP for autowireless is 192.168.223.1.
Go to the network tab along the top of the EWS.
Click on Wireless Setup Wizard along the lefthand side to begin configuring the printer.
You have now completed the Wireless configuration, follow the next 3 steps to start printing.
The blue wireless light will go solid, put the Mac back on your own network.
Add the printer to the System Preferences.

You haven't formatted the SSD, so you can't install Mac OS X.
First, close the OS X installer and open Disk Utility. Then, choose the SSD at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab, choose "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" as "Format", and press Erase. Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

Duplicating Mac OSX Operating System

I had a crash on my Apple MBP over here in Mexico. And to make it even worse the Operating CDs were in Spain.
My next visit in Spain I made a copy of the 2 CDs as mentioned in the Apple Help (making an image .dmg) and then burn it to a CD (I used a DVD +R due to space reasons).
The trouble is that the MBP won't boot from the copy.
What did I do wrong? How can I make copies of CDs (Mac OSX, iLife08, iWork08, Intego, ...) so that the copies will "act" the same the original do (bootable)?

a bootable CD or DVD cannot just be copied like audio media. It has to be assigned a master property. Look here:

Windows Swap For CS5 to Mac Leopard Operating System

I have been running cs5 on an imac 27 with parallels in Windows 7. It has been cumbersome.
So, I ordered cs5 as part of the adobe swap program so that I could run it exclusively on the mac platform. I no longer need to use Windows.
The problem is that the CS5 photo or workspace window does not appear on the screen only the navigation bar. No photos can be imported from anywhere.
I spent two hours online chatting with customer service to verify the procedure for the swap, but still the new adobe cs5 does not function.
Lightroom 64 runs perfectly on the mac.
Any ideas?

Can you elaborate? What happens when you launch Photoshop: Do you get an error message?
Or is it just that you are used to the Windows way of showing the workspace? On the Mac, you don't see a "workspace", only the open document window when you actually have an open document. All Mac programs do this. If this is your "problem", and if you prefer the Windoze way, just go to the Window menu in Photoshop and turn on the "Application Frame".

Deleted Operating system

I seem to have deleted my mac's operating system. I tried using internet recovery but it keeps giving me an error - 2002F
Please I need help.

Otherwise use your original system disk or a non machine install disk, go to utilities and see what "Disk Utility" says.

Click on the Apple icon on the left side of the tool bar and then "About this mac" - what operating system version does it list?
And you don't "download" icloud - icloud is a service that you turn on or off from System Preferences>iCloud. If you don't have an iCloud icon in preferences, then you don't have Lion or Mountain Lion (10.7 or 10.8).

Booting different Mac operating systems.

In the Windows world, the user can set up a computer to allow the selection of different operating system versions, such as Win98, WinXP, WinVista, to be chosen at startup.
Can this be done with Leopard, or possibly Snow Leopard? I'd like to upgrade, yet keep the existing system installed. I am not referring to using an emulator like Parallels Desktop, I'm already doing that.
One of the things that's the most frustrating to me is the different terminology used. Took me awhile to figure out that Airport is wireless networking, and today I discovered that Automator appears to be a macro recorder. Yet I've got a friend who could never figure out the other terms but the Mac terms make perfect sense to her!! Go figure!!! LOL
And before someone suggests it, I bought a Leopard book last spring when I bought this Mac, but a summer job I took involved 10-12 hour workdays and I just haven't had the time or energy to get it read.

Supported different Mac operating systems (and unix-like Linux for Mac) can be
booted in the same computer; in order for multiple Mac OS X systems to work,
they need to be in their own partition so as to not mix up their differences, and
applications that may work well in one may not do so well in another. So, each
OSX has its own Applications and other folders, in their own home partitions.
Snow Leopard 10.6.x is intended for Intel-based Macs; Leopard 10.5.x is the
last version supporting PPC-based Macs. Some PPC Macs did not like 10.5.
You could probably use a bootable externally enclosed hard disk drive to have
additional system(s) available for the computer, instead of reformatting the HD
& partitioning it for several systems. The OEM drive may be too small for more
than one OS installed, depending on the uses expected and storage demands.
Computers that can't support the latest OS X 10.6.x won't, and they can't use
an older OS X than the one they shipped with, the exact as-shipped version.
Some models can run several OSs including variants of Linux or unix for Mac,
and select supported OS X versions; plus older Macs running dualboot OS9/X.
The Support pages on the Apple site have helpful information on specific Macs
& other hardware, so that may be of help to read about each model in question.
Also, the free download offline database: http://mactracker.ca is fairly handy.

Remember to do the following before starting the upgrade process:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Restart the computer from the Apple menu.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
