MAC POWER POINT TO CAPTIVATE

WHEN I TRY TO BEGIN A CAPTIVATE PROJECT FROM AN IMPORTED POWER POINT ON MY MAC ONLY THE LEFT HALF OF THE SLIDE IMPORTS.  I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT SIZES OF FILES TO SAVE BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHETHER I USE THE ORIGINAL POWER POINT SIZE OR THE SMALLER IPAD SIZE.  BOTH GIVE ME ONLY 1/2 MY SLIDE.  WHAT IS GOING ON?  HOW CAN I IMPORT MY ENTIRE POWER POINT SLIDE.
THANKS

Hello Cinjac,
Can you tell me the version of Adobe Captivate you are using ( Go to Help> About Adobe Captivate) along with the version of Powerpoint and Mac OS ?
Can you attach a screenshot of the issue you are facing ?
Thanks and Regards

  • Power Point to Captivat 3

I am importing a power point file into Captivate 3. My power
point has had a light tan, light yellow and white background and
every time it is imported in Captivate 3 the background comes out
dark grey. I have changed background colors, was told to take out
my transitions (I didn't have transitions to begin with) and
nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix
    this problem?

    Sure they can!
You simply insert Click Boxes or Buttons on the slides to
pause them and allow them to traverse from slide to slide at their
    own pace.
In this case you may wish to forego the typical playback
control (aka "playbar") and only use Buttons or Click Boxes to
    navigate.

  • Mac Power Point freezes on opening

I am trying to understand why some Power Point (i.e., .pps files) I download freeze when I open them.
In order to unfreeze I have to FORCE QUIT these files by clicking COMMAND, OPTION, ESCAPE. It seems that the only way I can view these presentations is by emailing them to a friend who uses Keynote to view the file. Is there anyway I can keep these .pps files from freezing up my computer without using Keynote or requesting help from my friend? I M stuck!

Excellent idea. I contacted the website you suggested, but so far have not come up with a solution. I was hoping that a Mac tech on the Apple Forum might have a solution. My experience with Microsoft is that they are pretty much clueless when it comes to Mac problems. The search continues!

  • Importing from Power Point to Captivate 5.5.

We have some ppts that have something similar to layered content on the slide.  You click on a slide and new content is shown.  Any way to get this into Captivate or do you need to redo these slides?

    Welcome to the forum,
Each powerpoint slide will be converted to sort of video slide in Captivate, normally keeps all animations. If you programmed PPT to have a click, this should be preserved in Captivate.
However, personally I would prefer to create that kind of interactivity in Captivate itself, because then you'll have separate timelines for the objects that will have to show up on click.

  • Importing power point slide into captivate

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I imported an animation slide
from power point to captivate last night and it worked great (using
Captivate2) I tried this morning (using cpativate 3) and the
animation will not play, it just looks like a picture. Is there
something different I have to do using Captivate 2 version vs the
Captivate 3 version? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi again yankeebrit
Well, where there's a will, there is often a way...
You could accomplish it by using what I refer to as 'The
Camtasia Approach'. Basically, it goes like this. Configure the
PowerPoint to play in a resizable window. Start the slide show in
the window, then set Captivate up to record the slideshow as it
plays. Then, when you know animation is coming, press the F9 key to
begin a full motion capture. When the animation ends, press F10 to
    stop recording in full motion.
Using that technique, you are able to get what you want from
    Captivate 2.
    Just a thought... Rick

  • Best way to format my 16GB flash drive for Mac and PC transferring large power point files?

best way to format my 16GB flash drive for Mac and PC transferring large power point files?

format flash drive in Exfat for transferring files between Mac and Pc.
    FORMAT TYPES
    FAT32 (File Allocation Table)
Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
    Maximum file size: 4GB.
    Maximum volume size: 2TB
You can use this format if you share the drive between Mac OS X and Windows computers and have no files larger than 4GB.
    NTFS (Windows NT File System)
    Read/Write NTFS from native Windows.
Read only NTFS from native Mac OS X
To Read/Write/Format NTFS from Mac OS X, here are some alternatives:
For Mac OS X 10.4 or later (32 or 64-bit), install Paragon (approx $20) (Best Choice for Lion)
Native NTFS support can be enabled in Snow Leopard and Lion, but is not advisable, due to instability.
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support NTFS
    Maximum file size: 16 TB
    Maximum volume size: 256TB
You can use this format if you routinely share a drive with multiple Windows systems.
HFS+ ((((MAC FORMAT)))) (Hierarchical File System, a.k.a. Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Don't use case-sensitive)
    Read/Write HFS+ from native Mac OS X
Required for Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! backups of Mac internal hard drive.
To Read HFS+ (but not Write) from Windows, Install HFSExplorer
    Maximum file size: 8EiB
    Maximum volume size: 8EiB
You can use this format if you only use the drive with Mac OS X, or use it for backups of your Mac OS X internal drive, or if you only share it with one Windows PC (with MacDrive installed on the PC)
    EXFAT (FAT64)
Supported in Mac OS X only in 10.6.5 or later.
Not all Windows versions support exFAT.
    exFAT (Extended File Allocation Table)
AirPort Extreme (802.11n) and Time Capsule do not support exFAT
    Maximum file size: 16 EiB
    Maximum volume size: 64 ZiB
You can use this format if it is supported by all computers with which you intend to share the drive.  See "disadvantages" for details.

  • Importing Power Point and Embedding Video in Captivate Question

I am new to Adobe Captivate, but I have heard the following:
    1)     I can import a power point slide directly into Captivate 5.5.
    2)     I can add a action buttion that when click, can play a short video embedded within one of the slides.
    My objective is:
    1)     When I click that action buttion, I want to play that short video embedded within one of the slides.
    2)     Each slide will have an action buttion, and embedded slide of video (different video).
    3)     When the video is completed, it returns back to display the original slide
    4)     The user can just look at the slide and just move to the next slide without showing the video.
To accomplish this in Captivate 5.5, can I do this ?
    1)     I understand that one must place a button on the converted slide and also embed the video to another slide.  This is done by using the tool bar.
Is it possible to do this using programing scripts or anything ???    I would have a many slides to do, and I would like to automate this process.
I would appreciate any suggestions and help.
    Thank You,
    G

    Hi Eddie

  • Can I import hyperlinks in Power Point 2007 to Captivate?

I have a presentation in Power Point 2007 I imported into Captivate 6.  Within the Power Point presentaiton, the user cannot navigate through the presentation without clicking one of two objects on the slide.  Each of these objects is hyperlinked to another slide with in the Power Point.  When I imported this Power Point presentation into Captivate, the hyperlinks with the objects did not import even though "high fidelity" was clicked.  Is there a way to solve this problem?
    Thank you!
    Ryan

No, you'll have to recreate those links in Captivate, they will not import.

  • I am trying to transfer a power point from my mac to a flash drive to work on a pc?  Can't figure out how to get it to work

can anyone help me get my power point from my mac to a flash drive to work on a pc?

And make sure the flash drive is formatted as  FAT32. The PC won't read anything from a Mac OS formatted drive, and your Mac can't write to a NTFS (Windows) formatted drive.
If both the Mac and PC support it, exFAT is also possible and allows for larger file sizes.

  • How do i find words, excel and power point in my mac book air ?

how do i find words, excel and power point in my mac book air ?

You would have to purchase, install, and update them first.
They would be installed into /Applications, probably into an MS Office folder. The installer may have placed aliased copies of the icons in your Dock, or if not, use the Finder > Go menu > Applications, and have a look around. When you find the applications, you can drag/drop the principal three onto your Dock — where a single click can launch them.

  • I can't use power point on my mac now I have Lion.

Now that I've had to install Lion, I cant use power point on my mac. What can be done about this?
Are there any other programmes I can use? Or do I need to reinstall it?

Office 2004 will not run on Lion because it uses "PowerPC" code.
Office 2008 and later work in Lion.

how do i create a power point on my mac desk top

There are also free programs to create digital presentations, but fewer and fewer are available for the pre-2006 iMacs this forum covers. That is why it's important to do answer Klaus1's question about your OSX version.
Doing "About this Mac" from your Apple menu and telling us what that shows about your processor will also help.
