MAC: Premiere Pro won't play. Nothing happens when pressing spacebar, nor play button on timeline

Help!! Deadline looming! Nothing happens when I press play on any window or spacebar in Premiere Pro. The play button turns to stop and nothing else happens. I have also installed Premiere CS6 and everything works fine there.

Premiere Pro won't play media intermittently in Yosemite

Hello all,
I have a Premiere Pro CC 2014 (2014.1 Release, the latest one) installed on Yosemite 10.10.
It's running on a Macbook Pro (Early 2011 model) with 16gb of RAM, 512GB SSD, 1TB HDD, AMD Radeon 6750 Card with 1GB of RAM.
On Mavericks 10.9.5 it all ran perfectly.
On Yosemite I have intermittent problem with media playing.
After a restart if I open Premiere Pro and open any of my projects it will say media loaded, however it won't play it. If you hit play nothing happens. The videos won't show either in source window or timeline. Quitting the program results in a hang. I have to force quit the application and than I get an error Premiere Pro encountered a serious error. Upon second program open, the media will work fine and everything will work fine. That's until I turn off the computer or restart it and than it's over again. I have to open the program, force quit it and only than it will work.
I cleared Premiere's preferences, caches, moved media to a different drive, reinstalled Premiere Pro and even clean installed the operating system. The problem persists.
What's interesting is that if I open Premiere after a restart and start a NEW project, import the media and start editing, it will work. When I save it and quit and than open the program again it will show the same problem and I'll have to force quit it after which it will work again.
The only plugin I have is Neat Video 3.6.
This problem is really annoying and I hope someone can help me solve it out.

Shouldn't Adobe be the one updating to account for video card driver changes? I thought that was the benefit of paying monthly?
We test all GPUs with current drivers, but new drivers can come out faster than releases of Premiere Pro. Also, we can't update Premiere Pro every time there is a driver update. That would be pretty difficult to pull off. Sorry.
If not, please advise on which NVIDIA graphics driver will actually work with PrPro. Because this is NOT working. Currently running: CUDA Driver Version: 6.5.45
Typically, we recommend that you install the latest drivers for your GPU. It sounds like you have done so. Most people are having best success with these drivers on systems running OS X 10.10.2. Are you updated to that version?
It renders out complete videos with weird pixel bugs across them.
When did it start behaving this way? After installing the new drivers? After updating OS X? After updating a Premiere Pro project from Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 (8.1) to Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 (8.2)? Not to mention, it crashes 10 times a day...running back to FCPX.
If you're crashing that many times per day, you should troubleshoot your system with our agents. Contact them M-F 7AM-7PM PST. Ask for the "video queue." You can either chat or get a phone call going: Contact Customer Care
The other possibility is that by updating OS X, you may have changed the read write permissions of crucial Adobe folders. See this article for an explanation and a potential fix:
Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
I also recommend the following steps for Mac users having trouble crashing on Mavericks or Yosemite:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Delete media cache
Delete preview files
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Disable App Nap
Reboot

I've read many articles where the simple solution was to delete a file. The issue is that...
I can't find the file anywhere: com.apple.audio.AggregateDevices.plist
tried Admin/users, spotlight, partial or full name. Premiere Pro (CS5) is less than a week old in a brand new iMac. Is there a different solution for the problem? (video playback stops after 1 sec)

Well - I figured this out for me. The video that was imported into the project was not compatible with the project.
When-ever you have a problem, try to play with it using different project formats, different video formats and another thing I do is I try to edit the same video on someone else's computer... This is what I think of as isolating the problem.
For this issue. I exported the "bad" video by using the encoder with my default settings. I then imported the "new" video into the same project and it worked. So, what I thought is that the camera recorded the video in a different format then usual and it did not work with my default project settings.
I checked the camera and I was correct. So, when the video does not play, but another one does, probably format conflict.

Nothing happens when pressing Play on any track

Description
Spotify looks to be working fine but when I select something to play nothing happens. The Pause Button is visible suggesting the song is playing but the progress bar for the song stays at 0:00. This happens if I try to play radio, select a specific song, everything. I tried the clean reinstall but this hasn’t resolved anything.

HT201376 Nothing happens when pressing Command+R during reboot

I am trying to do a factory reset on my computer, and I have tried at least 30 times to restart and hold down the Command+R Keys and absolutely nothing happens. I have tried during different intervals during the reboot, and have tried doing it after a shut down and startup. Nothing happens at all. I have done it at least 15 times when the white screen with the apple pops up. I have waited for the "wait" symbol to try it. What am I missing?! Why won't this work? I cannot get to the point where I can erase everything. When I go in manually through the disk utility, it will not let me erase this way. Help!

do I need that DVD? or can I upgrade to the newest version, would I then be able use the command R option for bringing up the disk utility partition?
What exactly are you trying to do?
OS X Lion and above includes the addition of a Recovery partition (not a "disk utility partition"). If you had OS X Lion or above, then Command-R would boot the Mac to the Recovery partition. From that partition, you could then run the Disk Utility application.
With 10.6.8, you can boot from the DVD (Hold down the C key while restarting), once done, you could also run the Disk Utility application.
Note: There is no way that we can tell whether you can upgrade from 10.6.8, since you haven't provided any specific information about your Mac other than it is a MacBook.

Cross-posted wherever I can find this question, because I just solved it for myself, at least.
Lots of people are having this problem; it seems to be endemic across Mac Users. I think 12/26/12 is when some sort of disastrous iTunes programming change was made. Ironically, I was fine when I was using Leopard (10.5.8)--the temporary upgrade to Snow Leopard's initial system (straight off the install disc) a couple of days ago killed the Buy Button… until I checked "Software Update" (on the Apple Menu), it found a free upgrade to 10.6.8, and the problem's gone. Check Software Update to see what kind of system upgrade you can install for free, and that may well fix it. I think it's a new iTunes issue with older systems, but if you do whatever free upgrade Apple has for you, it might well work.
Holy Jesus God does Apple need to fix this soon--and I suspect they will, because it's costing them a lot of business. Another variation of this question got *42* "I have this problem"s.

Nothing happens when pressing the adobe button to call BAPI

I have created adobe form using the Adobe LiveCycle 7.1 and everything looks fine; when I created the Data Connection the wsdl file was found, the BAPI was brought into the left hand side of the screen, I was able to drag and drop the fields I wanted and finally drag and drop the action Button to call the BAPI.
The problem I have is that when I launch the pdf file, fills out the fields and click on the button, NOTHING happens.
On my adobe I have 3 fields where the master data created by the BAPI should show and nothing comes back. I have also my Return table from the BAPI and nothing shows either.

I do not have any WD. This is pure Adobe Interactive Form. I built the form using Adobe LiveCycle 7.1, created a Data connection to the BAPI wdlf file on backend system and then launched the adobe and clicked on the button to call the bapi.
Do I still need AFC even though I do not use WD? I will give it a try.

Nothing happens when I click Closed Caption button in Advanced Audio Management

Something fishy is going on in my Captivate 5 when I work with Closed Caption.
I add closed caption text in the Slide Notes pane. Then I proceed to the Advanced Audio Management screen to adjust the timing. I click the Edit button in the lower part, and the program locks itself as it has given priority to some editing window. But it does not appear anywhere. If I click the mouse I get the annoya Windows DING DING DING feedback. Also, same happens if I click the Closed Caption button.
Only way to regain control of Captivate 5 is to hit Esc, to somehow close this invisible Edit or Closed Caption window or dialogue which I cannot see.
Very annoying, what gives? Any ideas to how I can see my Edit or Closed Caption window?

Audio is created by Text to Speech or Its imported to slide.
Try below steps:
Launch Advanced audio dialog.
Click on Edit Audio button. - u are facing issue here, Edit Audio dialog is not visible right.
click esc.
move the Advanced audio dialog to corner of screen.
Click on Edit Audio button - check if edit audio button is launched behind Advanced audio dialog.
if yes, then click on edit Audio dilog or press Alt-Tab will bring Edit audio dialog to front.

ITunes offers "complete my album" but nothing happens when I click on the button

I tried to purchase an album of which I own one song and was offered a offer to complete my album. When I click on the 'complete my album button" it returns with the same price and when I click that button the same thing happens again; I'm offered the opportunity to complete my album. A

Nothing happens when I hit the home button

When I render the page in Internet Explorer using IE Tab Plus everything works just fine.

Nevermind...just had to do a full reinstall. That means going to firefox folder on my computer, running helper.exe from the uninstall folder, and unchecking the box that lets you save your themes, addons, bookmarks, etc. The reinstalled version works perfectly. Now I just have to find all those addons again...

Nothing happens when trying to open an .ai while in Illustrator CC or loading an .ase, why?

Just recently, Illustrator doesn't do anything when trying to open a file from the tool bar. In addition, when trying to load an .ase, selecting 'Other Library' does nothing. Why would this just now start doing this?

If you are trying to open an Excel form that is attached to the PDF file (via the attachments tab in
Acrobat), then this is the wrong script to use. You should consult the Acrobat Javascript reference:
